The cooling storage ring (CSR) external-target experiment (CEE) is a spectrometer used in construction to study the properties of nuclear matter in high-baryon density regions at the Heavy-Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL). This study presents the design, simulation, manufacturing, and testing of a half-size prototype of a multi-wire drift chamber (MWDC) for the CEE. First, the performance of the MWDC connected to homemade electronics was simulated. The results demonstrated that an energy resolution of 18.5% % for 5.9-keV X-rays and a position resolution of 194 mu m for protons can be achieved by the current design. Because the size of the largest MWDC reached 176 cm x 314 cm, a set of 98 cm x 98 cm prototypes was built using the new techniques. The positioning accuracy of the anode wires in this prototype is better than 20 mu m. After optimization, using commercially available electronics, the prototype can achieved an energy resolution of 19.7% % for a Fe-55 X-ray source. The CEE-MWDC detector and electronics were simultaneously tested. An energy resolution of 22% % was achieved for the Fe-55 source; the track residuals were approximately 330 mu m for the cosmic rays. The results demonstrate that the current design and techniques meet the requirements of the CEE-MWDC array.

A continuous-wave Nd:YVO_(4)-KGW intracavity Raman laser with over 34% diode-to-Stokes optical efficiency

We demonstrate a continuous-wave(CW)Nd:YVO_(4)-potassium gadolinium tungstate(KGW)intracavity Raman laser with a diode-to-Stokes optical efficiency of 34.2%.By optimizing the cavity arrangement and reducing the cavity losses,8.47 W Stokes output at 1177 nm was obtained under an incident 878.6 nm diode pump power of 24.8 *** influence of cavity losses on the power and efficiency of the CW Raman laser,as well as the potential for further optimization,was investigated based on the numerical *** observation of thermally-induced output rollover was well explained by the calculation of the thermal lensing and cavity stability,indicating that the end-face curvature played an important role when the end-face of the crystal was highly reflective coated to make the cavity.A 10.9 W Stokes output under 40.9 W incident pump was also demonstrated with a cavity arrangement less sensitive to the end-face curvature,which is the highest output power of CW intracavity Raman lasers reported.

Electrode process of Nd-Fe alloy formed on iron electrode in molten chlorides

The cyclic voltammetry, convolution voltammetry and chronopotentiometry were used tostudy the electrode process of Nd （Ⅲ） reduced on iron electrode in molten NaCI-KCI-NdCI3from700 to 850℃. The electrodeposited products were analysed by X-ray diffraction. The resultsindicate that the intermetallic compound Fe2Nd forms first, and then the metallic neodymium depo-sits when Nd （Ⅲ） is reduced on iron electrode. The Nd-Fe alloys rich in neodymium can be obtained by electrolysis with iron cathode in moltenchlorides. The Nd-Fe alloys are composed of Fe2Nd and Nd.

Effect of ropivacaine combined with dexamethasone local infiltration on the pain level and inflammatory stress response after pediatric tonsillectomy

Objective:To study the effect of ropivacaine combined with dexamethasone local infiltration on the pain level and inflammatory stress response after pediatric ***:A total of 84 children who received selective tonsillectomy in Mianyang Central Hospital between June 2014 and April 2017 were selected as the research subjects and divided into two groups by random number table method, combined group received ropivacaine combined with dexamethasone local infiltration, and control group accepted ropivacaine local infiltration anesthesia. Serum levels of pain mediators, inflammatory mediators and stress mediators were detected 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after ***: 6 h after surgery, serumβ-EP, SP, BK, TNF-α, MCP-1, IL-4, IL-10, F-Cor, NE, AT-II and GH levels were not significantly different between the two groups;12 h and 24 h after surgery, serumβ-EP, SP, BK levels of control group were significantly higher than those 6 h after surgery, serumβ-EP, SP, BK levels of combined group were not significantly different from those 6 h after surgery. Serum TNF-α, MCP-1, IL-4, IL-10, F-Cor, NE, AT-II and GH levels of two groups were significantly higher than those 6 h after surgery, and Serum TNF-α, MCP-1, IL-4, IL-10, F-Cor, NE, AT-II and GH levels of combined group were significantly lower than control ***:Ropivacaine combined with dexamethasone local infiltration is with more durable and exact effect than ropivacaine local infiltration alone on relieving the pain and inflammatory stress response after pediatric tonsillectomy.

Source model of the 2018 M_(w)7.5 Papua New Guinea earthquake constrained by InSAR measurements: Insight into a blind rupture beneath the New Guinea Highlands

The Southern Highland Fold and Thrust Belt(SHFTB),the boundary of the Australian plate and the New Guinea Highland block,significantly contributes to the convergent deformation along the plate ***,due to the lack of observation data,the detailed slip pattern of the SHFTB and the orogenic mechanism beneath the New Guinea Highlands remains *** 25 February 2018,the M_(w)7.5 Papua New Guinea(PNG)earthquake struck the southeastern segment of the *** detailed rupture characteristics of this event is significant for further clarifying the inter-seismic slip pattern along the ***,the coseismic deformation field of this earthquake was obtained using high-resolution ALOS-2 satellite *** find that the 2018 M_(w)7.5 PNG earthquake ruptured a large-scaled fault(SHFTB)extending to the lower crust(deeper than 20 km)beneath the New Guinea Highlands,with a dip angle of 24°.The slips on the fault plane are equivalent to moment magnitudes of M_(w)*** major asperities with thrust-dominated slip of up to 3.94 m are detected on the fault *** finding implies that the slip pattern on the eastern segment of the SHFTB is dominated by thrust,rather than with significant sinistral movement,as previously *** tectonic deformation across the New Guinea Highlands is possibly concentrated on the large-scale fault SHFTB and primarily controls the intra-continental orogeny in the central Papua New Guinea.

The stability of vapor nanobubbles in bulk liquid was investigated theoretically and the critical bubble size was derived from macroscale thermodynamic equations,below which the system destabilizes with sharp drop in *** critical size was quantitatively verified in molecular dynamic simulation using the Lennard-Jones model of argon,where stronger attraction between the molecules at lower density is found to contribute most to the drop of system pressure and,as the Laplace pressure on the curved bubble interface fails to balance the pressure difference across the interface,the bubbles become *** theoretical model could be extended to other systems where reliable equations of state and interfacial tension are available.

Streamflow abrupt change and the driving factors in glacierized basins of Tarim Basin,Northwest China

A climate transition towards warm-wet conditions in Northwest China has drawn much *** continuous climate change and universal glacier degradation,increasing water-related hazards and vulnerability have become one of the important problems facing the Tarim ***,the impacts of the climate transition on streamflow abrupt change and extreme hydrological events were less discussed,especially in glacial *** the present study,the discharge datasets in four glacial basins of Tarim Basin from 1979 to 2018 were constructed using the GRU-GSWAT+model *** differences in streamflow characteristics,the shift of hydrological extreme pattern,and potential changes of the controlling factors before and after the abrupt changes were *** results indicated that the abrupt change point(ACP)in streamflow occurred in 2000 in the Qarqan River Basin,2002 in the weigan River Basin,and 1994 in the Aksu River Basin and the Yarkant River Basin.A general decrease in streamflow before the ACP has shifted to a notable upward trend in the Qarqan River Basin and the Aksu River Basin,while minor upward fluctuations were observed in other ***,the hydrological characteristics in extreme events vary dramatically before and after the ACPs,characterized by a pronouncing shift from drought-dominant pattern to wet events dominated *** driven climate factors have been altered after the ACPs with notable spatial heterogeneity,in which temperature remained as the dominant role in meltwater-dominated basins while the influence of precipitation has increased after the ACPs,whereas the sensitivity of temperature on streamflow change has been enhanced in basins dominated by precipitation such as the Qarqan River *** to the evident warming-wetting trend and glacier compensation effect,both the inter-annual and intra-annual streamflow fluctuations can be efficiently smoothed in basins with a high glacier area ratio(GAR).These findings provide a
