The Anonnaceae family has 2,500 species and 135 genera, which has about 14 representatives of species in Brazil,including Pseudoxandra cuspidata. The objective of this research was to study the aqueous-acid extract of P. cuspidata, evaluatingits antioxidant, larvicidal, antimicrobial and cytotoxic potential. In the preliminary phytochemical analysis, there were positivity toorganicacids and alkaloids. Inhibitory Activity of EAA was 65% against DPPH. The AAE presented to A. salina nauplii at LC50%of 600.79 μg/mL for a periodof 24 hours. In relation to larvicidal activity to Aedes aegypti intermediates, AAE presented the LC50%in 24 Hours of 475.91 ppm and 290.73 ppm in 48 Hours. Regarding the antimicrobial action, the EAA presented 50 mg/mL MIC forP. Aeruginosa and MBC at 100 mg/mL, and for s. aureus it presented MIC of 50 mg/mL and did not present MBC. This researchcharacterized the presence of alkaloids and organicacids present in the aqueousacid extract of P. cuspidata. The extract presentedlowtoxicity in relation to the microcrustacean A. salina. It also had a relevant antioxidant potential (65% of Inhibition),larvicidalaction considered effective, antimicrobialaction for both P. Aeruginosa and s. Aureus even did not present bactericidalaction.

This paper is the result of an investigation of the flora and traditionalknowledge in the conception of Javaé indigenous people from the Txuirivillage located on Bananal Island, Brazil. The objective is to investigatethe plants used by these indigenous people, their diverse uses and tounderstand how traditional knowledge is passed on to new *** is a qualitative, descriptive and interdisciplinary survey, whose datacollection strategies included the application of semi-structured questionnairesand collection of plants for cataloguing according to AngiospermPhylogeny Group or APG III (2009). We identified 26 plant species, usedfor various purposes such as medicinal use, food, construction, craft andcultural, which were deposited in the Herbarium of the Federal Universityof Tocantins. Roots, stem and leaf are the plant parts most used bythe community. The plants mentioned were most frequently found on thebanks of the Javaés River and in the backyard of the residences. significanttraditional knowledge of these people about the plants are transmittedto new generations, through visual, orality and experimentation. Ethnobotanicalstudies strengthen research in ecopsychology while allowingresearch into the interactions between human populations and plants.

The present work aimed to evaluate the behavior of glyphosate herbicide in aquatic environment, considering some water quality parameters, in reservoir conditions without flow and without replacement of evapotranspired water. Twenty reservoirs (polyethylene water tanks) with a storage capacity of 1000 liters were used. The recommended herbicide dose according to the manufacturer was 7.0 L or 3360 grams of acid equivalent per hectare. For application in the reservoirs, a precision equipment was used to carbon dioxide (CO2), providing a flow of 200 L·ha-1. Freezing macrophyte death was achieved by storing the plants in a freezer at -18°C for a period of 48 hours. The analyses of control efficiency were performed at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after application (daA). Water samples for analysis of quality indicators, pH and dissolved oxygen were collected weekly for nine weeks. The obtained result allows concluding that the herbicide glyphosate presented excellent control efficiency of water hyacinth and did not significantly alter the water quality parameters pH and dissolved oxygen, indicating its use in the management of this macrophyte.

目的对松节藻中得到的10种化合物进行体外细胞毒活性筛选,并对其醇提取物进行体内抑瘤活性研究。方法采用碘酰罗丹明B(sRB)蛋白染色法和MTT法对10种化合物进行细胞毒活性筛选;用s180荷瘤小鼠模型进行松节藻醇提取物的体内抗肿瘤活性评价,分别测定半数致死量(LD50)、抑瘤率、胸腺指数、脾指数、脾淋巴细胞增殖活性(MTT法)、免疫球蛋白IgA、IgG、IgM和脾淋巴细胞凋亡率等指标,应用软件sPss进行数据处理。结果体外活性筛选实验表明4,4′-亚甲基-二(5,6-二溴-1,2-二苯酚)()、3-溴-4-[2,3-二溴-4,5-二羟基苯基]甲基-5-(甲氧基甲基)-1,2-二苯酚()、3-溴-4,5-二(2,3-二溴-4,5-二羟基苯甲基)-1,2-二苯酚()、二(2,3-二溴-4,5-二羟基苯甲基)醚()和3-溴-4-[2,3-二溴-4,5-二羟基苯基]甲基-5-(乙氧基)-1,2-二苯酚()5种单体化合物对人肺癌细胞株A-549具有一定的细胞毒活性。松节藻醇提取物中剂量(1g/kg)组表现出较高的抑瘤率,但中剂量组胸腺指数及脾指数均有所升高;松节藻醇提取物各组均可较好抑制脾淋巴细胞增殖;各组免疫球蛋白IgA和IgG无明显变化,而松节藻醇提取物中剂量组IgM含量有明显升高;中、高剂量组脾淋巴细胞凋亡率显著升高。结论从松节藻中提取的部分化合物表现出一定的细胞毒活性;其醇提取物对肿瘤细胞有一定的抑制作用,并可增强机体免疫功能。

AIM To determine the best option for bowel preparation [sodium picosulphate or polyethylene glycol(PEG)] for elective colonoscopy in adult *** A systematic review of the literature following the PRIsMA guidelines was performed using Medline, scopus, EMBAsE, Central, Cinahl and Lilacs. No restrictions were placed for country, year of publication or language. The last search in the literature was performed on November 20th, 2017. Only randomized clinical trials with full texts published were included. The subjects included were adult outpatients who underwent bowel cleansing for elective colonoscopy. The included studies compared sodium picosulphate with magnesium citrate(sPMC)and PEG for bowel preparation. Exclusion criteria were the inclusion of inpatients or groups with specific conditions, failure to mention patient status(outpatient or inpatient) or dietary restrictions, and permission to have unrestricted diet on the day prior to the exam. Primary outcomes were bowel cleaning success and/or tolerability of colon preparation. secondary outcomes were adverse events, polyp and adenoma detection rates. data on intention-totreat were extracted by two independent authors and risk of bias assessed through the Jadad scale. Funnel plots, Egger's test, Higgins' test(I2) and sensitivity analyses were used to assess reporting bias and heterogeneity. The meta-analysis was performed by computing risk difference(RD) using MantelHaenszel(MH) method with fixed-effects(FE) and random-effects(RE) *** Manager 5(RevMan 5) version 6.1(The Cochrane Collaboration) was the software chosen to perform the ***662 records were identified but only 16 trials with 6200 subjects were included for the meta-analysis. Background: It is well-founded that empathy is an attribute that increases the likelihood of good communication between health professionals and patients, and it is usual that there is the conviction that empathy levels are higher in women than in men. Aims: A study comparing levels of empathy gender of students in 18 schools of dentistry from six Latin American countries was conducted. Method: An exploratory cross-sectional study of which empathy levels were measured by the Jefferson scale of Empathy for dental students (s version) and these levels were compared between genders by t-student test, after verification of normal distribution and homoscedasticity. Results: Variability was found in the results of the comparisons. In some cases, empathy levels were higher in women, others in men and in most of them there were no differences between genders. Conclusions: The observed results do not support the belief that women are more empathetic than men. However, more studies must be performed in more powers and countries to verify that the results described constitute a scientific fact and not just a feature of dental students specifically in the countries studied.
