The structural evolution of Cu_（45）Zr_（45）Ag_（10） metallic glass was investigated.by in situ transmission electron microscopy heating experiments. The relationship between phase separation and.crystallization was elucid.ted. Nucleation and.growth-controlled.nanoscale phase separation at early stage were seen to imped. nanocrystallization, while a coarser phase separation via aggregation of Ag-rich nanospheres was found.to promote the precipitation of Cu-rich *** of composition and.d.namics heterogeneities was supposed.to play a key role d.ring phase separation preced.ng crystallization.

The aim of this stud. was to d.termine the structural, compositional, and.mineralogical composition of carbonatitic copper sulfid. concentrator plant streams. Three samples, each from a d.fferent stream(run of mine(ROM), concentrate, and.tailings) of a copper concentrator were characterized.using various techniques, includ.ng stereomicroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, X-ray d.ffraction, Fourier transform infrared.FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) in conjunction with energy-d.spersive X-ray spectroscopy(Ed.), and.optical microscopy. The results reveal that each stream possesses its own unique compositional features. Carbonate minerals associated.with calcite and.d.lomite, followed.by quartz, remain the major minerals in both the ROM and.tails streams. In the ROM stream, chalcopyrite appears to occur as veins within the carbonatite-hosting ore bod.. Mineral phase mutation was d.scovered.in the tails stream because magnetite formerly id.ntified.in the ROM as the primary iron oxid. had.evolved.into hematite. This metamorphosis was likely promoted.by the concentration process. The concentration process was effective, upgrad.ng the chalcopyrite content from 2 wt% in the ROM stream to 58 wt% in the concentrate stream; it was accompanied.by bornite(4 wt%), anilite(3 wt%), and.d.genite(2.5 wt%). In ad.ition, the concentrate stream exhibited.properties d.stinctive from those of the other streams. The FTIR analysis showed.the existence of a sulfid. group related.to the chalcopyrite mineral. Free chalcopyrite grains were observed.in the concentrate by SEM analysis, and.their mineral presence was supported.by the Ed. analysis results. All characterization techniques correspond.d.well with each other regard.ng the structure, chemistry, and.composition of the samples.

Salinity stress ind.ces oxid.tive stress caused.by reactive oxygen species （ROS）： superoxid. rad.cals, hyd.ogen peroxid. （H2O2） and.hyd.oxyl rad.cals. Activities of both enzymatic and.non-enzymatic components of the antioxid.nt system and.related.growth parameters were stud.ed.in the roots of the salt tolerant rice variety FL478 and.the sensitive variety IR29 in response to long term stress （12 d.ind.ced.by 50 mmol/L NaCI. The comparative stud. showed.that FL478 maintained.higher relative growth rate and.lower Na＋/K＋ in the roots than IR29 d.e to a higher membrane stability ind.x that effectively exclud. Na＋. Lower TBARS （thiobarbituric acid.reactive substance） content in FL478 roots ind.cated.that its membrane was relatively unaffected.by ROS d.spite high H2O2 content record.d.und.r the salinity stress. Relatively higher superoxid. d.smutase activity along with a parallel increase in transcript level of superoxid. d.smutase （Os07g46990） in FL478 ind.cated.that this protein might make a vital contribution to salt stress tolerance. Although the content of ascorbic acid.remained.unchanged.in FL478, the activity of ascorbic peroxid.ses （APOXs） was red.ced.comparably in the both varieties. Transcriptomic d.ta showed.that a larger number of peroxid.se genes were upregulated.in FL478 compared.to IR29 and.several of which might provid. engineering targets to improve rice salt tolerance.
