Chlorfenapyr, an insecticidal pyrrole, was applied to concrete arenas at concentrations of 1. 1, 0.825, 0.55, and 0.275 g of active ingredient [AI]/m^2. Adult Tribolium castaneum （Herbst）, the red flour beetle, were exposed for 2, 4, or 8 h at each concentration, then removed and held either with or without food （wheat flour） for 7 days. Survival was assessed when the beetles were removed fi＇om the exposure arenas and daily during the post- exposure period. In the presence of food, survival was high regardless of concentration and the day on which post-treatment survival was assessed, but survival did decrease as the exposure period increased from 4 to 8 h. When the beetles were not given food after exposure, survival at each concentration and exposure period declined during the 1-week post- exposure assessments. This pattern of decrease could be described by linear and non-linear equations. Results show the presence of food material greatly compromised effectiveness of the insecticide, and emphasize the importance of cleaning and sanitation in conjunction with insecticide treatments.

An experimental investigation was conducted on the laminar flow frictional characteristics of suspensions with microencapsulated phase change material (mEPCm) in water flowing through rectangular copper minichannels. The mEPCm was provided at an average particle size of 4.97 μm, and was mixed with distilled water to form suspen- sions with various mass concentrations ranging from 0 to 20%. The experiment was per- formed to explore the effect of mEPCm mass concentration on friction factor and pressure drop in the minichannels. The Reynolds number ranged from 200 to 2000 to provide laminar and transitional flows. It was found that the experimental data for the suspensions with 0 and 5% concentration agree well with the existing theoretical data for an incom- pressible, fully developed, laminar Newtonian flow. For the suspensions with mass con- centrations higher than 10%, there is an obvious increase in friction factor and pressure drop in comparison with laminar Newtonian flow.

The aim of this ex vivo study was to evaluate the infiltration capability and rate of microleakage of a low-viscous resin infiltrant combined with a flowable composite resin(RI/CR) when used with deproteinised and etched occlusal subsurface lesions(International Caries Detection and Assessment System code 2). This combined treatment procedure was compared with the exclusive use of flowable composite resin(CR) for fissure sealing. Twenty premolars and 20 molars revealing non-cavitated occlusal carious lesions were randomly divided into two groups and were meticulously cleaned and deproteinised using Na OCl(2%). After etching with HCl(15%), 10 premolar and 10 molar lesions were infiltrated(Icon/DmG; rhodamine B isothiocyanate(RITC)-labelled) followed by fissure sealing(G-?nial Flo/GC; experimental group, RI/CR). In the control group(CR), the carious fissures were only sealed. Specimens were cut perpendicular to the occlusal surface and through the area of the highest demineralisation(DIAGNOdent pen, Ka Vo). Using confocal laser-scanning microscopy, the specimens were assessed with regard to the percentage of caries infiltration, marginal adaption and internal integrity. Within the CR group, the carious lesions were not infiltrated. Both premolar(57.9% ± 23.1%) and molar lesions(35.3% ± 22.1%) of the RI/CR group were uniformly infiltrated to a substantial extent, albeit with significant differences(P = 0.034). moreover, microleakage(n = 1) and the occurrence of voids(n = 2) were reduced in the RI/CR group compared with the CR group(5 and 17 specimens,respectively). The RI/CR approach increases the initial quality of fissure sealing and is recommended for the clinical control of occlusal caries.

AIm: To model clinical and economic benef its of capsule endoscopy (CE) compared to ileo-colonoscopy and small bowel follow-through (SBFT) for evaluation of suspected Crohn’s disease (CD). mETHODS: Using decision analytic modeling, total and yearly costs of diagnostic work-up for suspected CD were calculated, including procedure-related adverse events, hospitalizations, off ice visits, and medications. The model compared CE to SBFT following ileo-colonoscopy and secondarily compared CE to SBFT for initial evaluation. RESULTS: Aggregate charges for newly diagnosed, medically managed patients are approximately $8295. Patients requiring aggressive medical management costs are $29 508; requiring hospitalization, $49 074. At sensitivity > 98.7% and specifi city of > 86.4%, CE is less costly than SBFT. CONCLUSION: Costs of CE for diagnostic evaluationof suspected CD is comparable to SBFT and may be used immediately following ileo-colonoscopy.

Two-dimensional(2D) layered organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted much more attention for some applications than their three-dimensional(3D) perovskite counterparts due to their promising thermal and moisture *** particular, the 2D perovskite devices have shown better promise for optoelectronic ***, tunability of optoelectronic properties is often demanded to improve the device ***, we adopt a newly method to tune the electronic properties of 2D perovskite by introducing pseudohalide into the *** this work, we designed a pseudohalidesubstituted 2D perovskite by substituting the out-of-plane halide with pseudohalide and studied the electronic and excitonic properties of 2D-BA2mX4 and 2D-BA2mX2Ps2(m=Ge^(2+), Sn^(2+), and Pb^(2+);X=I;Ps=NCO, NCS, OCN, SCN, Se CN).We revealed the dependence of electronic properties including band gaps, composition of band edges, bonding characteristics, work functions, effective masses, and exciton binding energies on different pseudohalides substituted in 2D *** results indicate that the substitution of pseudohalide in 2D perovskites is energetically favorable and can significantly affect the bonding characteristics as well as the CBm and VBm that often play major role in determining their performance in optoelectronic *** is expected that the pseudohalide substitution will be helpful in developing more advanced optoelectronic device based on 2D perovskite by optimizing band alignment and promoting charge extraction.

Aquaponics is a fish-plant recirculating system where nutrients received from the fish culture are absorbed by the plants for *** technology is relatively new for fish culture in Kenya,and the principles and operations remain largely untested for many fish *** study determined how stocking density affects the growth performance and water quality in a Nile tilapia-lettuce(Lactuca sativa)aquaponics *** experimental design included five replicates for each of the aquaponic systems stocked at densities of 150,300,and 450 fish/m^(3) for a rearing period of 56 *** treatment had a planting density of 16 lettuce/*** water quality parameters ranges during the rearing period were 3.83-5.35 mg/L for dissolved oxygen,7.44 to 7.6 for pH,0.014 mg/L to 0.032 mg/L for total ammonium nitrate(TAN),1.11-1.34 mg/L for nitrate,and 0.01-0.08 mg/L for nitrite,and all decreased with increasing stocking *** final weight of fingerlings was 25.2±4.2 g,32.0±3.8 g and 42.6±3.1 g for 450,300,and 150 fish/m^(3) *** growth rate(SGR)was reduced with increasing stocking density whereas food conversion ratio(FCR)increased with stocking *** systems with the lowest stocking densities performed better than 300 and 450 fish/m^(3) respectively.

To stay competitive, the mobile telecommunication companies spend millions of Ghana cedi each year on building long-term relationships with their customers. marketing managers are constantly challenged with the problem of where to channel the limited resources in order to retain existing customers. This study approaches the customer retention problem in the mobile phone sector from a behavioural perspective, applying the Behavioural Perspective model as the main analytical framework and further exploits some other factors that influence customer retention. The model includes a set of pre-behaviour and post-behaviour factors to study consumer choice, and explains its relevant drivers in a viable and comprehensive way, grounded in radical behaviourism. Data for the analysis were collected from tertiary students from Accra and Takoradi. Data collected were analysed using the multinomial regression technique. Analysis of the data revealed that the Behaviour setting factor is the only significant element in Behaviour Perspective model. Further exploitation of behaviour situation revealed that the number of networks a customer uses, previous experience of a customer and customer’s intention are significant factors in determining customer retention in Ghana’s mobile telecommunication industry.
