Several obstacles to the production,expansion and genetic modification of immunotherapeutic t cells in vitro have restricted the widespread use of t-cell *** the context of HSCt,delayed naïve t-cell recovery contributes to poor outcomes.A novel approach to overcome the major limitations of both t-cell immunotherapy and HSCt would be to transplant human t-lymphoid progenitors(HtLPs),allowing reconstitution of a fully functional naïve t-cell pool in the patient ***,it is challenging to produce HtLPs in the high numbers required to meet clinical ***,we found that adding tumor necrosis factor alpha(tNFα)to a DL-4-based culture system led to the generation of a large number of nonmodified or genetically modified HtLPs possessing highly efficient in vitro and in vivo t-cell potential from either CB HSPCs or mPB HSPCs through accelerated t-cell differentiation and enhanced HtLP cell cycling and *** study provides a clinically suitable cell culture platform to generate high numbers of clinically potent nonmodified or genetically modified HtLPs for accelerating immune recovery after HSCt and for t-cell-based immunotherapy(including CAR t-cell therapy).

Aerosol distribution and efficacy in a commercial food warehouse

A series of field trials were conducted in a commercial food storage facility to evaluate exposure of stored-product insects to aerosol formulations of synergized pyrethrins and the insect growth regulator methoprene. When adults of tribolium castaneum （Herbst）, the red flour beetle, and tribolium confusum （jacqueline DuVal）, the confused flour beetle were exposed with and without a food source to synergized pyrethrin aerosol, there was no difference in adult mortality with respect to availability of food at either 7 or 14 days after exposure （P≥0.05）. However, mortality was lower in t. confusum （40.4% and 79.3% with flour at 7 and 14 days, 38.9% and 84.8% without flour at 7 and 14 days） compared to t. castaneum （96.5% and 99.8% with flour at 7 and 14 days, 91.0% and 98.7% without flour at 7 and 14 days）. Few late-stage larvae and pupae of either species exposed to the pyrethrin aerosol emerged as adults. In tests with methoprene aerosol, adult emergence of exposed 3- and 4-week-old larvae of t. confusum was less than 2%. Only 0.3% of 4-week-old larvae of t. castaneum exposed in open and obstructed areas emerged as adults. Emergence of adults from eggs of Plodia interpunctella （Hubner）, the Indianmeal moth, embedded in culture media and exposed to the methoprene aerosol was 13.2%±3.5%. Results show that the aerosols evaluated in our study could give effective control of some of the major storedproduct insect pests in commercial food storage facilities, and may offer an alternative to fumigation.

Lantana camara——an Ecological Bioindicator Plant for Decontamination of Pb-Impaired Soil Under Organic Waste-Supplemented Scenarios

Heavy metal extraction and processing from ores releases elements into the environment. Soil, being an "unfortunate" sink, has its bionomics impaired and affected by metal pollution. Metals sneak into the food chain and pose risk to humans and other edaphicdependent organisms. For decontamination, the use of an ecosystem-friendly approach involving plants is known as *** this study, different lead(Pb) concentrations(80, 40, 20, and 10 mg kg^(-1)) were used to contaminate a well-characterized soil,(un)supplemented with organic waste empty fruit bunch(EFB) or spent mushroom compost(SMC), with non-edible plant—Lantana camara. Lead removal by L. camara ranged from 45.51% to 88.03% for supplemented soil, and from 23.7% to 57.8% for unsupplemented soil(P the EFB-supplemented and L. camara-remediated soil showed the highest counts of heavy metal-resistant bacteria(HMRB)(79.67 × 10~6–56.0 × 10~6 colony forming units(CFU) g^(-1) soil), followed by SMC-supplemented and L. camara-remediated soil(63.33 × 10~6–39.0 × 10~6 CFU g^(-1) soil). Aerial metal uptake ranged from 32.08 ± 0.8 to 5.03 ± 0.08 mg kg^(-1) dry weight, and the bioaccumulation factor ranged from 0.401 to 0.643(P t_(1/2)) of Pb were 7.24–2.26 d in supplemented soil,18.39–11.83 d in unsupplemented soil, and 123.75–38.72 d in the soil without plants and organic waste. Freundlich isotherms showed that the intensity of metal absorption(n) ranged from 2.44 to 2.51 for supplemented soil, with regression coefficients of determination(R^2) between 0.901 2 and 0.984 0. the computed free-energy change(?G) for Pb absorption ranged from -5.01 to 0.49 kj mol^(-1) K^(-1) for EFB-supplemented soil and -3.93 to 0.49 k j mol^(-1) K^(-1) for SMC-supplemented soil.

A New Species of the Genus Elaphe(Squamata: Colubridae) from Zoige County,Sichuan,China

Previous phylogenetic analyses of DNA sequence data reveal a likely new species of Elaphe Fitzinger from China,which forms the sister group of all extant Elaphe. One of the three original specimens is crushed and the other two are neonates,which precludes a morphological analysis. three adult snakes(2 females,1 male) collected from jiangzha Hot Spring in Zoige County,Sichuan,China on 26 july 2010 now facilitate the species’ description. Mitochondrial DNA nucleotide sequences of cytochrome b(cyt b),NADH dehydrogenase subunit 4(ND4),12S ribosomal RNA(12S rRNA),and cytochrome oxidase subunit 1(CO1) from the adults are identical to sequences from the crashed specimen. Interspecific uncorrected p-distances of partial CO1 gene of 26 sequences from all 11 species of Elaphe,including this new species,are large(8.5–15.2%). this new species is morphologically distinguished from all other species of Elaphe by several characters: 'M'-shaped marking on the supraoculars and adjacent frontal; four parallel series of red-brown spots on the dorsum extending from the neck to the vent; four longitudinal stripes associated with the spots; each spot is usually composed of a whole(or incomplete) red-brown scale with puce borders; spots of each stripe are similar in shape,they occur at relatively regular intervals of one or two scales,and they are slightly red-brown in color; and it has three preoculars,whereas all other species have one or two. Now Elaphe contains 11 species and this discovery highlights the need for continued exploration of temperate regions.
