Our previous studies have reported that activation of the NLRP3(NOD-,LRR-and pyrin domain-containing protein 3)-inflammasome complex in ethanol-treated astrocytes and chronic alcohol-fed mice could be associated with neuroinflammation and brain *** stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles(MSC-eVs)have been shown to restore the neuroinflammatory response,along with myelin and synaptic structural alterations in the prefrontal cortex,and alleviate cognitive and memory dysfunctions induced by binge-like ethanol treatment in adolescent *** the therapeutic role of the molecules contained in mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles,the present study analyzed whether the administration of mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles isolated from adipose tissue,which inhibited the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome,was capable of reducing hippocampal neuroinflammation in adolescent mice treated with binge *** demonstrated that the administration of mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles ameliorated the activation of the hippocampal NLRP3 inflammasome complex and other NLRs inflammasomes(e.g.,pyrin domain-containing 1,caspase recruitment domain-containing 4,and absent in melanoma 2,as well as the alterations in inflammatory genes(interleukin-1β,interleukin-18,inducible nitric oxide synthase,nuclear factor-kappa B,monocyte chemoattractant protein-1,and C–X3–C motif chemokine ligand 1)and miRNAs(miR-21a-5p,miR-146a-5p,and miR-141-5p)induced by binge-like ethanol treatment in adolescent *** analysis further revealed the involvement of miR-21a-5p and miR-146a-5p with inflammatory target genes and NOD-like receptor signaling *** together,these findings provide novel evidence of the therapeutic potential of MSC-derived eVs to ameliorate the hippocampal neuroinflammatory response associated with NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by binge drinking in adolescence.

Dieulafoy’s lesions are rare vascular malformations of the gastrointestinal tract. A Dieulafoy’s lesion is an aberrant vessel that does not reduce in caliber when it extends from the submucosa to the mucosa. Damage to this artery can cause severe and intermittent arterial bleeding from small vascular stumps that are difficult to visualize. Furthermore, these catastrophic bleeding episodes frequently result in hemodynamic instability and the need for transfusion of multiple blood products. Recently, uremic syndrome has been identified as a risk factor for gastric mucosal lesions. We present two clinical cases of acute digestive bleeding due to Dielafoy lesion with chronic kidney disease as the main cause, where two different therapies were performed endoscopically. We concluded with the results of our patients that the best therapy was the application of the hemostatic hemoclip on the injury vs the injection with adrenaline on the wound site. Uremia is identified as a risk factor for upper gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with pre-existing Dieulafoy’s lesion, as well as a higher incidence of new bleeding.

Previously,it was suggested that biological maturation(BM)could be linked to cardiac autonomic recovery(CAR)in the pediatric ***,this influence hasn’t been confirmed *** aim was to investigate the impact of BM on CAR in female volleyball *** study with a sample of 38 volleyball players,comprising 20 girls(age:[11.62.1]years)and 18 women(age:[24.55.5]years),we analyzed BM,comparing maturing subjects(girls)with mature subjects(women).Additionally,we assessed peak height velocity(PHV)in *** conducted a training session involving repeated sprints(3 rounds of 6 sprints interspersed by 5 min[min]of passive rest).Using short-range radio telemetry,we analyzed CAR during(at the end of the 1st and 2nd rounds)and after(following the 3rd round)the training session of repeated sprints by applying the 60-s to 300-s heart rate recovery index(HRR-Index).Girls exhibited superior CAR compared to women(round 2:60-s,120-s,240-s,and 300-s,pes of BM indicated that individuals in the Late-PHV stage demonstrated superior CAR compared to those in the early-PHV and During-PHV groups.(60-s to 300-s,η2p>0.4,pects in the During-PHV stage were superior to those in the early-PHV stage(240-sa 300-s,η2 p>0.4,pe have concluded that biological maturation has a significant impact on cardiac autonomic recovery.

Background:To analyze the clinical results of an artificial neural network(ANN)that has been processed in order to improve the predictability of intracorneal ring segments(ICRS)implantation in ***:This retrospective,comparative,nonrandomized,pilot,clinical study included a cohort of 20 keratoconic eyes implanted with intracorneal ring segments KeraRing(Mediphacos,Belo Horizonte,Brazil)using the ANN(ANN group)and 20 keratoconic eyes implanted with KeraRing using the manufacturer’s nomograms(nomogram group).Uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA)(visual acuity is expressed in decimal value and in LogMAR value in brackets),manifest refraction,corneal topography,tomography,aberrometry,pachymetry and volume analysis(Sirius ***,Firenze,Italy)were performed during the preoperative visit;and the two groups,ANN group and nomogram group,did not differ significantly preoperatively in all of the parameters *** preoperative values were compared with the results obtained at the third-month ***-Whitney test and Wilcoxon test were used for the statistical ***:The spherical equivalent and the keratometric values decreased significantly in both *** CDVA improved from 0.60±0.23(0.22 LogMAR)pre-operatively to 0.73±0.21(0.14 LogMAR)post-operatively in the ANN group(pe-operatively to 0.62±0.19(0.21 LogMAR)post-operatively in the nomogram group(perence between the two groups(peing better in the ANN ***-like aberrations decreased significantly in the ANN group,while in the nomogram group they did not change significantly,but no statistically significant difference was found between the two ***:ANN to guide ICRS provides an increase in the visual acuity,reduction in the spherical equivalent and improvement in the optical quality of keratoconus *** gives better results wh
