Coral-like structures of the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)Fe_(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12),(0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.04, 0.00 ≤ y ≤ 0.02) compound were synthesized using the sol-gel method. Structural investigation certified the YIG cubic crystal structure formation, without any secondary phase. It is shown that, the relatively large ionic radius of the dopant cations results in an expansion of the lattice parameter, variations in the Iona-O-Iondangle, Iona-O,Iond-O and Ionc-O bond distances and decrease in the average crystallite size. Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) and Raman measurements are essential to testify the single-phase formation of YIG crystal structure and are observed changes in the stretching and vibrational modes, respectively. The morphological study, energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) spectra and textural properties show corallike structures, peaks associated with Pr^(3+) and Yb^(3+) atoms and the effect of dopants on surface area,diameter, and pore volume, respectively. The optical analysis from diffuse reflectance spectra witnessed an increase in the optical gap band, a decrease in Urbach energy and blue shift in the charge transfer,correlated with the expansion of the unit cell due to the dopant's insertion in the YIG structure. A typical ferrimagnetic behavior is exhibited by the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)Fe_(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12)compound. The saturation magnetization(M_(s)), cubic anisotropy constant(K_(1)) and coercive field(H_(c)) increase with the Pr^(3+)cations content, as consequence of their magnetic nature and distribution around of Fe^(3+)ions due to the coexistence with the Yb^(3+). Finally, for the first time, antibacterial tests by mean of the direct contact method were performed for YIG co-doped with Pr^(3+)and Yb^(3+)and it is shown that, relatively high dosages of Pr^(3+) cations favored the activity against S. aureus, therefore, a new biological property for YIG doped with rare earths is presented.

Vertebral hemangiomas are common benign lesions of the spine, characterized by abnormal vascular proliferation, being commonly asymptomatic incidental findings, presenting symptoms in only a small portion of affected individuals. In a smaller number of cases, however, hemangiomas can present an expansive effect and extra-osseous extension, determining a mass effect and neurological symptoms, being therefore called aggressive hemangiomas. On MRI, aggressive hemangiomas are characterized by having a larger vascular component and a smaller fat component, thus producing a low signal on T1-weighted images. We illustrate the case of a young male patient who presented with pain in the upper thoracic spine, who developed paraparesis and ascending sensory deficit and progressive lower limbs, progressing to paraplegia and loss of sphincter control.

deep phenotyping and genetic characterization of individuals are fundamental to assessing the metabolic status and determining nutrition-specific requirements. This study aimed to ascertain the utmost effectiveness of personalized interventions by aligning dietary adjustments with both the genotype and metabolotype of individuals. Therefore， we assessed here the usefulness of a polygenic score (PGS) characterizing a potential pro-inflammatory profile (PGSi) as a nutrigenetic tool to discern individuals from the Danish PREVENTOMICS cohort that could better respond to precision nutrition (PN) plans， specifically targeted at counteracting the low-grade inflammatory profile typically found in obesity. The cohort followed a PN plan to counteract the pro-inflammatory profile (PNi group) or generic dietary recommendations (Control) for 10 weeks. PGSi was applied for genetic stratification (Low/High). The effects of the intervention on anthropometrics and biomarkers related to inflammatory profile and carbohydrate metabolism were assessed. Around 30% of subjects had a high genetic predisposition to pro-inflammatory status (high-PGSi). These individuals demonstrated the most effective response to the dietary plan， experiencing improved body composition， with significant decreases in body weight (△: -4.84%; p=0.039) and body fat (△: -4.86%; p=0.007)， and beneficial changes in pro- and anti-inflammatory biomarkers， with significant increases in IL-10 (△: 71.3%; p=0.025) and decreases in TNF-α (△: -3.0%; p=0.048)， CRP (△: -31.1%)， ICAM1 (△: -5.8%)， and MCP1 (△: -4.2%) circulating levels， compared to low-PGSi individuals. Both phenotypic and genetic stratification contributed to a better understanding of metabolic heterogeneity in response to diet. This approach allows for refinement of the prediction of individual requirements and potentially for better management of obesity.

This experiment aimed to evaluate the effect of calcium salts of linseed oil (rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, C18:3n-3) on metabolic and reproductive traits in high-producing dairy cows under grazing. Thirty-six Holstein dairy cows were randomly assigned, in a complete block design, to receive ALA supplementation (0.85 kg∙day−1 of calcium salts of linseed oil) or to remain as untreated control (CON). The concentrate was formulated to offer the same amount of energy across treatments (CON cows received an extra kg of corn to compensate for the higher energy density of ALA treatment). A PMR + Alfalfa pasture was offered to all cows at the same time. A fixed time artiﬁcial insemination (FTAI) at 80 DIM, preceded by a Presynch plus Ovsynch protocol was implemented for the first service and later, on return to estrus, heat detection and artiﬁcial insemination (AI) were performed. Pregnancy diagnosis was checked at 30, 42, 60, and 90 d after AI. Blood and milk samples were taken biweekly. Treatment affected plasma cholesterol concentration (160.36 vs. 186.70 mg∙dl−1, p = 0.03, for ALA and CON, respectively) and on size of corpus luteum (CL, 17.6 vs. 13.7 mm, p = 0.02, for ALA and CON, respectively). Supplementation tended (p = 0.136) to increase conception rate by 200 DIM (81.69% vs. 55.43% in ALA and CON cows, respectively). However, treatment had no effect (p > 0.05) on body weight (BW), body condition score (BCS), and circulating levels of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA), glucose, insulin, growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-I). Our results suggest that supplementation with calcium salts of linseed oil could enhance ovarian function without affecting energy metabolism in early lactation dairy cows.

The process of development of the Amazon, in post-1970, has led to serious socio-economic and environmental problems, such as the struggle for land ownership and huge deforestation. Conservation units, such as extractive reserves (RESEX), appear as sustainable development alternatives for the region. Today, solid waste has become one of the main environmental problems, particularly in forest areas. The aim of the present work is to analyze the production and destination of solid waste in the Chico Mendes RESEX, state of Acre, in the periods 1996/1997, 2005/2006 and 2014/2015. We work with the methodology of the ASPF project, developed at the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), based on indicators of economic results, as well as the production and destination of solid waste. The results indicate a considerable increase in the generation of solid waste in the forest, especially of plastics coming from goods acquired in the market and without adequate disposal.

Objective:To describe the prognostic and clinical profile of hospitalized patients with chikungunya virus(CHIKV)infection focusing on renal ***:This is a cross-sectional study including all patients with confirmed chikungunya fever(CHIKF)admitted to 3 different highcomplexity hospitals in Fortaleza,Brazil between January 2016 and June *** analysis was carried out to evaluate correlation between clinical profile and ***:Fifty-five patients were included,with a median age of 77(IQR=21)years,and 23(41.82%)were ***-five patients(45.45%,25/55)developed acute kidney injury(AKI),and 15(60.00%,15/25)were classified as KDIGO 1,1(4.00%)as KDIGO 2,and 9(36.00%)as KDIGO *** overall mortality was 34.54%whilst AKI-related mortality was 64.00%(16/25).Both AKI and encephalitis were associated with higher *** who died were significantly older[82(IQR=12)years vs.70(IQR=28.75)years,P33,95%CI=1.11–25.64,P=0.037)and AKI was an independent risk factor of death(OR=12.06,95%CI=2.55–57.15,P=0.002).Recovery of renal function was similar among the different age ***:AKI is present in half of the study population and is an independent risk factor of ***,renal function should be carefully monitored in hospitalized patients with CHIKV infection.

Objective:To study the behavioral effects of semi purified fraction prepared from the stem bark of Erythrina velutina on ***:Three chloroformic fractions(CA) at 50 or 100 mg/kg(CA1,CA2 and CA3) were tested in two behavioral tests;plus maze and open ***:In the plus maze test,it was observed a decrease in the number of entries in the closed arms(NECA) CA2 at both doses as compared to the control *** the open field test,CA2 and CA3 fractions decreased the number of squares crossed and the time of permanence on the bar,increased the number of falls at both doses in the rota rod *** CA2 fraction decreased the NECA,but this data did not characterize an anxiolytic *** was the consequence from decrease of locomotor activity(LA) observed in the open field test,that the decrease of LA and rearing,the number of falls and the decrease in time of permanence on the bar in rota rod test were observed after treatment with CA2 and CA3 at both doses,suggesting sedative ***:The present work demonstrated that CA2 and CA3 fractions have impairing effect on LA and motor coordination.

Syngas Production from Crude Glycerol Using Pyrolysis

Glycerol pyrolysis is carried out in a fixed bed reactor filled with alumina oxide. The packing material diameter was examined according to each one, but in general it was varied between 0.1-5.0 mm. The reaction temperature was varied in the range of 700-900 ℃, the reaction time from 10 to 50 min and flow rate of carrier gas from 0 to 60 mL/min. The process parameters listed above （factors） were used to evaluate the syngas production yield （response）. Also, syngas properties such as composition and heat value were evaluated. The experiments were carried out according to a 23 factorial design plus three central points. At last, a technical-economical analysis is carried out to examine the feasibility of syngas production from glycerol pyrolysis considering not only feedstock, catalyst and energy required costs but also conventional procedures used nowadays to produce syngas such as water electrolysis and natural gas catalytic reform.
