Although electric vehicle fully exhibits its comparative merits of energy conservation and environmental friendliness, further improvement of its traction energy efficiency lacks comprehensive investigations in the past. In this paper, the effect of the torque vectoring on traction energy conservation during cornering for a rear-wheel-independent-drive electric vehicle is ***, turning resistance coefficient and energy conservation mechanism of torque vectoring are derived from the single track dynamic model. Next, an optimal torque vectoring control strategy based on genetic algorithm is proposed, with the consideration of the influence of the operation-point change of the in-wheel motors, to find out the best torque vectoring ratio offline. Finally,various simulation tests are conducted to validate the energy conservation effect after Simulink modelling. The results verify that though the optimization of the operating region of the motors is the main part for tractive energy conservation, the contribution of torque vectoring itself can reach up to 1.7% in some typical cases.

The presence of Dirac delta function in differential equation can lead to a discontinuity,which may degrade the accuracy of related numerical *** improve the accuracy,a secondorder numerical method for elliptic equations with singular sources is introduced by employing a local kernel *** this method,the discontinuous equation is convoluted with the kernel function to obtain a more regular *** the original equation is replaced by this fltered equation around the singular points,to obtain discrete numerical *** unchanged equations at the other points are discretized by using a central difference scheme.1D and 2D examples are carried out to validate the correctness and accuracy of the present *** results show that a second-order of accuracy can be obtained in the fltering framework with an appropriate integration ***,the present method does not need any jump condition,and also has extremely simple form that can be easily extended to high dimensional cases and complex geometry.

It is widely accepted that in a turbulent boundary layer （TBL） with adverse pressure gradient （APG） an outer peak usually appears in the profile of streamwise Reynolds stress. However, the effect of APG on this outer peak is not clearly understood. In this paper, the effect of APG is analysed using the numerical and experimental results in the literature. Because the effect of upstream flow is inherent in the TBL, we first analyse this effect in TBLs with zero pressure gradient on flat plates. Under the individual effect of upstream flow, an outer peak already appears in the profile of streamwise Reynolds stress when the TBL continues developing in the streamwise direction. The APG accelerates the appearance of the outer peak, instead of being a trigger.

Background: Elbow dislocations in pediatric patients are rare injuries. This is a therapeutic emergency because a delay in treatment can have disastrous consequences on the functional level of the upper limb. Objective: To present the management of elbow dislocation in children in cases of limited resources. Presentation of the Cases: These were 2 older male children aged 7 and 9 years old, admitted to the emergency room for painful functional impotence of the right elbow after a fall and landing on the right hand. Clinical and radiological examinations were in favor of posterior elbow dislocations. The reductions were carried out under sedation and immobilization in Jersey. According to Robert’s criteria, the functional result was excellent in both patients. Conclusion: Emergency reduction and immobilization whatever the means ensure an excellent functional prognosis even in cases of limited resources.

This study investigated the effects of yerba mate consumption, a South American beverage, on cardiac remodeling in rats. For this purpose, 24 male Wistar rats were divided into Control Group (CG) which received filtered water and a standard diet, and Yerba Mate Group (YM), 6 g of Ilex paraguariensis in 100 ml water and the same diet, for 30 days. The YM group showed a reduction in final body weight and food consumption without altering weight gain. Regarding cardiac remodeling, the YM group exhibited a decrease in the right ventricle weight/final body weight ratio, suggesting cardiac atrophy, without affecting the atria and left ventricle. There was no change in cardiomyocyte area or nuclear fractal dimension in both groups. However, animals that consumed yerba mate showed increased collagen deposition and a smaller fractal dimension in the left ventricle. The consumption of yerba mate at room temperature for 30 days induced changes in cardiac remodeling, as evidenced by increased collagen deposition and alterations in fractal dimension in the left ventricle.

Uganda’s health care sector is choking with various challenges,such as poor physical infrastructure,inadequate professionals to run the few existing health centers,poor culture of adherence to professional ethical standards by some health care practitioners,shortages of medicines in most government hospitals/health centers,and *** of the challenges are more endemic in rural *** is on the above premise that this article discusses some of the challenges that health centers face in provision of care to the increasing number of HIV/AIDS patients in hard-to-reach rural communities in northern Uganda and the implications of such challenges on the ***’s success in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the early 1990s was globally applauded because of its aggressive grassroots behavioral change crusades aimed at reducing the number of sexual *** success inspired a wave of financial aid programs from the US government to fight the disease across the developing ***,the success was short-lived as the rate of HIV/AIDS infection in Uganda is currently rising,with the health care system struggling to provide care for the ballooning number of *** contribute to the curtailing cases of new infections,this article discuses the integration of the traditional authority and knowledge system in the national HIV/AIDS care and prevention program along with the biomedical approach currently being used.

COVID-19 is a disease that disproportionately impacts the Hispanic population,due to the prevalence of certain risk factors and the high number of essential workers in this *** this work,we analyze the vaccination strategies that would minimize the COVID-19 health disparities in El Paso County,TX,in the context of the emergence of a new highly transmissible and immune-escaping SARS-CoV-2 *** stratify an age-structure stochastic SEIR model that tracks the evolution of immunity derived from in-fections and vaccination according to Hispanic vs non-Hispanic ethnicity and parameterize it to the demographic,health and immunization data of El Paso County,*** fitting the model,the results show that increasing vaccination with bivalent boosters by five-fold in anticipation of highly transmissible and immune escaping variants would decrease the cumulative hospital admissions and mortality from Mar 1,2023,to Dec 31,2023,by 62.72%and 61.41%,***,our projections reveal that the disproportionate impact on the Hispanic community would be eliminated if approximately half of the doses that are given to the non-Hispanic group according to the equal distribution,would be re-allocated to the Hispanic *** findings can guide public health officials in US cities with large Hispanic communities and help them design vaccination strategies that minimize COVID-19 health disparities caused by emerging variants using specific vacci-nation strategies.

The duct static pressure reset (DSPR) control method is a popular modern control method widely applied to variable air volume (VAV) systems of commercial buildings. In this paper, a VAV system simulation program was used to predict the system performance and zone air temperature of two kinds of layouts that were applied to a typical floor of an existing building office in Hong Kong. The position where the static pressure sensor was placed should affect the zones temperature and energy consumption. The comparison of predictions of the two kinds of layouts indicates that with the same DSPR control method the layout of the air duct might influence the fan control result and energy savings.
