The adoption of Phase Change Materials （PCMs） in glazing systems was proposed to increase the heat capacity of the fenestration, being some PCMs partialty transparent to visible radiation. The aim of the PCM glazing concept was to let （part） of the visible spectrum of the solar radiation enter the indoor environment, providing daylighting, while absorbing （the largest part of） the infrared radiation. In this paper, the influence of the PCM glazing configuration is investigated by means of numerical simulations carried out with a validated numerical model. Various triple glazing configurations, where one of the two cavities is fitled with a PCM, are simulated, and PCM melting temperatures are investigated. The investigation is carried out in a humid subtropical climate （Cfa according to K6ppen climate classifi-cation）, and ＂typical days＂ for each season are used. The results show that the position of the PCM layer （inside the outer or the inner cavity） has a retevant influence on the thermo-physical behaviour of the PCM glazing system. PCM glazing systems （especially those with the PCM layer inside the outermost cavity） can be beneficial in terms of thermal comfort. The assessment of the energy performance and efficiency is insteadmore complex and sometimes controversial. All the configurations are able to reduce the solar glain during the daytime, but sometimes the behaviour of the PCM glazing is tess efficient than the reference one.

Inhibin B is a gon adal horm one that down regulates the pituitary production of follicle-stimulati ng horm one (FSH). In recent years, inhibin B has proved to be an excellent marker of spermatogenesis and even a predictive factor for the recovery of fertility in patients undergoing orchiectomy and antineoplastic treatments. We propose to study inhibin B levels in orchiectomised testicular cancer patients, in order to identify a minimum value representative of normal semen quality. This retrospective study evaluates horm onal and semen parameters of 290 no rmozoospermic patie nts atte nding the Laboratory of Semi no logy - Sperm Bank "Loredana Gandini"(Rome, Italy) for cryopreservation of seminal fluid following a diagnosis of testicular cancer (TC group) and 117 healthy, normozoospermic men as a control group (CTR group). The percentile distribution of gonadotropin and inhibin B values in the TC and CTR groups was analyzed. There was a statistically significant differenee between the two groups in the levels of all hormones (P ≤ 0.001) and in all semen parameters (P 95^th percentile of CTR group. Orchiectomised patients for testicular cancer presented inhibin B levels lower than healthy patients, despite normozoospermia. Our study revealed the poor sensitivity of the current inhibin B reference range when applied to monorchidic patients, suggesting the need to establish more representative ranges to enable more appropriate counseling in relation to the patienfs new endocrine condition.

Classical rock mass classification systems are not applicable to carbonate rocks,especially when these are affected by karst *** applications to such settings could therefore result in outcomes not representative of the real stress-strain *** this study,we propose a new classification of carbonate rock masses for engineering purposes,by adapting the rock engineering system(RES) method by Hudson for fractured and karstified rock masses,in order to highlight the problems of implementation of geomechanical models to carbonate *** new approach allows a less rigid classification for carbonate rock masses,taking into account the local properties of the outcrops,the site conditions and the type of engineering work as well.

A group is called a Cernikov group if it is abelian-by-finite and satisfies the minimal condition on subgroups. A new characterization of Cernikov groups is given here, by proving that in a suitable large class of generalised soluble groups they coincide with the groups having only finitely many homomorphic images of finite rank （up to isomorphisms） and admitting an ascending normal series whose factors have finite rank.

A novel Mars orbit insertion strategy that combines ballistic capture and aerobraking is *** ballistic capture orbits that neglect the aerodynamics are first generated,and are distilled from properly computed stable and unstable sets by using a pre-established method.A small periapsis maneuver is implemented at the first close encounter to better submit a post-capture orbit to the aerobraking *** adhoc patching point marks the transition from ballistic capture to aerobraking,from which an exponential model simulating the Martian atmosphere and a box-wing satellite configuration are considered.A series of apoapsis trim maneuvers are then computed by targeting a prescribed pericenter dynamic *** aerobraking duration is then estimated using a simplified two-body *** angle tuning cancels the inclination deflections owing to out-of-plane perturbation from the Sun.A philosophy combining in-plane and out-of-plane dynamics is proposed to simultaneously achieve the required semi-major axis and *** simulations indicate that the developed method is more efficient in terms of the fuel consumption,insertion safety,and flexibility when compared with other state-of-the-art insertion strategies.

A group G is called a PC-group if the factor group G/CG（〈X）^G） is polycyclic for each element x of G. It is proved here that if G is a group of infinite rank whose proper subgroups of infinite rank have the property PC, then G itself is a PC-group, provided that G has an abelian non-trivial homomorphic image. Moreover, under the same assumption, a complete classification of minimal non-PC groups is obtained.

We present the first photometric analysis of three totally-eclipsing W UMa binaries,NS VS2443858,NSVS 780649 and V1098 *** absolute astrophysical parameters of the stellar components were determined by means of Gaia distances and light curve *** results show that:(ⅰ)Two of the systems,NSVS 2443858 and V1098 Her,are of A subtype while the obtained temperature of the secondary component of NSVS 780649 indicates that it is a W-subtype system;(ⅱ)The estimated mass ratios approach the lower limit of the mass ratio assumed by researchers in recent years so our targets could be classified as extreme mass ratio binary(EMRB)systems;(ⅲ)All the systems have deep contact configurations,so they also are deep low mass ratio(DLMR)systems;(ⅳ)The components of our systems are stars of F and G spectral type and undergo total eclipses;(ⅴ)The sum 0.871 M⊙of the component masses of NSVS 780649 is below the mass limit of 1.0-1.2 M⊙assumed for the known contact binary stars.

Single wail carbon nanotubes （SWNTs） are known for their exceptional electronic properties. However, most of the synthesis methods lead to the production of a mixture of carbon nanotubes having different chiralities associated with metallic （m-SWNTs） and semiconducting （s-SWNTs） characteristics. For application purposes, effective methods for separating these species are highly desired. Here, we report a protocol for achieving a highly selective separation of s-SWNTs that exhibit a fundamental optical transition centered at 1,550 nm. We employ a polymer assisted sorting approach, and the influence of preparation methods on the optical and transport performances of the separated nanotubes is analyzed. As even traces of m-SWNTs can critically affect performances, we aim to produce samples that do not contain any detectable fraction of residual m-SWNTs.
