Study Objectives:To determine if the large and highly reproducible inter-individual differences in heart rate(HR) response to arousals during non-REm sleep arise from a heritable ***:Post-hoc analysis of polysomnograms of same-sex monozygotic and dizygotic twin ***:Academic medical center and Research and Development Laboratory(YRT Limited).Participants:55 monozygotic(mean[±SD]age 29.2±6.9 years;14 male and 41 female pairs) and 36dizygotic(mean age 26.217.5 years;15 male and 21 female pairs) twin pairs with a normal ***:None measurements and Results:Arousals were scored using the 2007 American Academy of Sleep medicine *** intensity was scaled(between 0 and 9) using an automatic algorithm based on the change in EEG time and frequency characteristics and a training data *** rate response to arousal(AHR) was determined and averaged at each arousal intensity per *** calculated the average arousal duration,average arousal intensity,average AHR,AHR at a given arousal intensity,rate of AHR per arousal intensity,and arousal intensity threshold of *** the classical approach to assess broad sense heritability(h),the arousal intensity threshold of AHR(h=0.94) and average arousal intensity(h=1.05) showed the strongest evidence for heritability after age and sex *** was supported by a maximum likelihood based variance components estimation approach,with h(95%CI) estimates of 0.38(0.13,0.62) for arousal intensity threshold of AHR and 0.64(0.48,0.80) for average arousal *** approach also suggested significant additive genetic effects for the number of arousals,average arousal duration,and the average ***:Genetic factors explain a significant fraction of the phenotypic variability for the threshold of AHR to arousal and average arousal *** also suggest that the number and duration of arousals and the average AHR may be heritable traits.

Stable Adult Growth but Reduced Asexual Fecundity in marginopora vertebralis,under Global Climate Change Scenarios

Large benthic foraminifera are an integral component of shallow-water tropical habitats and like many marine calcifiers,are susceptible to ocean acidification(OA)and ocean warming(OW).In particular,the prolific Symbiodiniaceae-bearing and high-magnesium calcite marginopora vertebralis has a low threshold compared to several diatom-bearing and low-magnesium calcite *** this multi-year mesocosm experiment,we tested three RPC 8.5 climate change scenarios(i)present day,(ii)the year 2050,and(iii)*** enable a realistic epiphytic association,these experiments were uniquely conducted using natural carbonate substrate,living calcifying alga,and *** contrast to previous studies,we detected no reduction in surface-area growth under future climate conditions compared with present day *** terms of calcification,***’epiphytic association to primary producers(i.e.,calcifying algae and seagrasses)potentially ameliorates the effects of OA by buffering against declines in boundary layer pH during periods of photosynthesis(i.e.,CO_(2)removal).Importantly for population maintenance,we observed a strong reduction in asexual fecundity under the 2100 *** propose the additional energy needed to maintain growth might be one reason for drastically reduced asexual *** alternative explanation could be that the 2℃temperature increase interfered with the environmental synchronization that triggered asexual multiple *** conclude that the low levels of reproduction will reduce populations in a high CO_(2)environment and reduce a valuable source of CaCO_(3) sediment production.

Prostate cancer （PCa） is the most common solid-organ cancer in American males and the second most common cause of cancer-related death in men. With the advent of prostate-specific antigen screening, death from PCa continues to decline. However, recent evidence suggests that there is now a trend towards increasing incidence.1 Current screening strategies result in increased incidence of low-risk PCa and importantly, the diagnosis of PCa is becoming more common in younger patients.2 The majority of early-stage PCa patients have a high likelihood of disease free survival after treatment.

Purpose The transition into full-time training represents a key period in the development of young soccer *** we compared the weekly training loads(matches,field-,and resistance-training)of English Premier-League Academy soccer players from under-16(U16),under-18(U18)and under-23(U23)age-groups during a training *** Forty players(U16 n=13,U18 n=15 and U23 n=12)were monitored using global navigation satellite systems and differential ratings of perceived exertion(dRPE).External load metrics were total distance,high-speed running distance,[absolute:≥19.8 km/h,relative:≥87%of 30-15 final-velocity(vIFT)],sprint distance(absolute:≥25.2 km/h,relative:≥80%maximal sprint speed),and dynamic stress *** load metrics were dRPE training *** Other than relative sprint distance,overall weekly external training loads were substantially greater for U18s and U23s when compared with U16s[effect size range:1.09-1.99(moderate to large);±90%confidence limits~0.45].When compared with U16s,overall internal loads were substantially greater for U18s[0.69-0.95(moderate);±~0.40],but not *** in weekly training loads between U18s and U23s were *** Substantial differences in training loads between elite U16 players and their older counterparts,indicates the need for planned increases in training loads in anticipation of the transition into full-time training.
