Hydroxyapatite(HA)and its composites with inorganic additives,dopants,and polymers is a rapidly developing branch in the materials *** particular,carbon allotropes are widely used in these composites being widely applied for medical *** a gap of insufficient generalization of recent achievements in the field of the HA/Carbon composites,in this review we present the state of the art of the field of HA composites and hybrids with classic carbon allotropes and *** composites are known for carbon nanotubes,nanofibers,graphene and its oxidized forms,as well as,in a lesser grade,for graphite,fullerenes,nanodiamonds,carbon nanofoams,*** composites can be fabricated by a variety of classic and less-common methods,such as co-precipitation(with or without ultrasonic treatment),CVD,hot isostatic pressing,hydrothermal,spark plasma sintering,biomimetic mineralization,thermal and plasma spray,electrochemical and electrophoretic deposition,self-assembling,3D printing,electrospinning,and lyophilisation,among *** of various synthesis techniques can be also carried out for composite *** or synthetic HA can be used as it is for further interaction with carbon allotropes or it can be first prepared and then reacted with carbon counterpart;similarly,carbon allotropes can be introduced into the interaction with HA directly or they can be first synthesized,in particular from *** biocompatible composites can be produced in the form of coatings,powders,and scaffolds and can additionally contain quantitative amounts of third phases,frequently natural or synthetic *** these composites,especially with O-containing functionalizing groups,HA disadvantages could be considerably decreased with simultaneous enhancement of mechanical properties,becoming similar to human bone,chemical stability and biocompatibility,as well as possessing antibacterial ***→G reduction and higher HA decoration were obs

in this paper, a sliding mode control with adaptive gain combined with a high-order sliding mode observer to solve the tracking problem for a quadrotor UAV is addressed, in presence of bounded external disturbances and parametric uncertainties. The high order sliding mode observer is designed for estimating the linear and angular speed in order to implement the proposed scheme. Furthermore, a Lyapunov function is introduced to design the controller with the adaptation law, whereas an analysis of finite time convergence towards to zero is provided, where sufficient conditions are obtained. Regarding previous works from literature, one important advantage of proposed strategy is that the gains of control are parameterized in terms of only one adaptive parameter, which reduces the control effort by avoiding gain overestimation. Numerical simulations for tracking control of the quadrotor are given to show the performance of proposed adaptive control–observer scheme.

A multi-shot target assembly and automatic alignment procedure for laser–plasma proton acceleration at high repetition rate are introduced. The assembly is based on a multi-target rotating wheel capable of hosting more than 5000 targets,mounted on a 3D motorized stage to allow rapid replenishment and alignment of the target material between laser irradiations. The automatic alignment procedure consists of a detailed mapping of the impact positions at the target surface prior to the irradiation that ensures stable operation of the target, which alongside the purpose-built design of the target wheel, enables operation at rates up to 10 Hz. Stable and continuous laser-driven proton acceleration at 10 Hz is demonstrated, with observed cut-off energy stability about 15%.

The scientific community has focused the agenda of studies of climate change on lower-end warming and simple risk analyses,because more realistic complex assessments of risk are more difficult,the benchmark of the international targets is the Paris Agreement goal of limiting warming to imate science is to try to avoid alarmism[1].Current fires,prolonged droughts,floods and heat waves,together with the consequent food insecurity,civil unrest and migrations,however,are opening the eyes not only of most scientists but also of most people all over the world to the need for considering,at least,the potential catastrophic effects of the collapse of ecosystems and society due to the current emergency of climate change.

Ammonia borane-based reactive mixture for trapping and converting carbon dioxide

Ammonia borane(NH_(3)BH_(3))is a reducing agent,able to trap and convert carbon *** the present work,we used a reactive solid consisting of a mixture of 90 wt.%of NH_(3)BH_(3)and 10 wt.%of palladium chloride,because the mixture reacts in a fast and exothermic way while releasing H2 and generating catalytic *** took advantage of such reactivity to trap and convert co_(2)(7 bar),knowing besides that Pd0 is a co_(2)hydrogenation *** operation(*** 1)was effective:BNH polymers,and B−O,C=O,C−O,and C−H bonds(like in BOCH_(3)and BOOCH groups)were *** then(in stage 2)pyrolyzed the as-obtained solid at 1250℃ and washed it with *** doing so,we isolated cyclotriboric acid H_(3)B3O6(stemming from B2O3 formed at 1250℃),hexagonal boron nitride,and graphitic *** conclusion,the stage 1 showed that co_(2)can be‘trapped’and converted,resulting in the formation of BOCH_(3)and BOOCH groups(possible sources of methanol and formic acid),and the stage 2 showed that co_(2)transforms into graphitic carbon.

AiM:To study the epidemiologic indicators of uptake and characteristic colonoscopic findings in the Croatian National colorectal Cancer Screening ***:colorectal cancer(CRC) was the second leading cause of cancer mortality in men(n = 1063,49.77/100 000),as well as women(n = 803,34.89/100 000) in Croatia in *** Croatian National CRC Screening Program was established by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare,and its implementation started in September,*** coordinators were recruited in each county institute of public health with an obligation to provide fecal occult blood testing(FOBT) to the participants,followed by colonoscopy in all positive *** FOBT was performed by hypersensitive guaiac-based Hemognost card test(Biognost,Zagreb).The test and short questionnaire were delivered to the home addresses of all citizens aged 50-74 years consecutively during a 3-year *** participant was required to complete the questionnaire and send it together with the stool specimen on three test cards back to the institute for further *** 4% FOBT positive cases are expected in normal risk populations.A descriptive analysis was ***:A total of 1 056 694 individuals(born between 1933-1945 and 1952-1957) were invited to screening by the end of September *** total,210 239(19.9%) persons returned the envelope with a completed questionnaire,and 181 102 of them returned it with a correctly placed stool specimen on FOBT *** now,12 477(6.9%),FOBT-positive patients have been found,which is at the upper limit of the expected values in European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in CRC Screening and Diagnosis [European Union(EU) Guidelines].colonoscopy was performed in 8541 cases(uptake 66%).Screening has identified CRC in 472 patients(5.5% of colonoscopied,3.8% of FOBT-positive,and 0.26% of all screened individuals).This is also in the expected range according to EU *** were found and removed in 3329(39% of co

Effect of calcination temperature on structural properties and catalytic activity in oxidation reactions of LaNiO_3 perovskite prepared by pechini method

The study presented the preparation of the perovskite oxide LaNiO3 by the complex citrate method, paying particular attention to evolution of its formation from the amorphous precursor with varied calcination temperatures. The products obtained after heat treatment under air between 200 and 800 ℃ were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis （TG-DTA）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTiR）, SBET measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. The results showed the formation of a single phase with perovskite structure from ca. 550 ℃. Tests on the two catalytic oxidation reactions of C3H6 and co over the system calcined between mentioned temperatures were examined on the basis of characterization results and showed that optimum catalytic properties for such reactions were achieved for the perovskite calcined at 600 ℃. in turn, correlations between redox and catalytic properties were established on the basis of thermogravimetric temperature programmed reduction （TPR） analysis.

Partition of Forecast Error into Positional and Structural components

Weather manifests in spatiotemporally coherent *** forecasts hence are affected by both positional and structural or amplitude *** has been long recognized by practicing forecasters(cf.,e.g.,Tropical Cyclone track and intensity errors).Despite the emergence in recent decades of various objective methods for the diagnosis of positional forecast errors,most routine verification or statistical post-processing methods implicitly assume that forecasts have no positional *** Forecast Error Decomposition(FED)method proposed in this study uses the Field Alignment technique which aligns a gridded forecast with its verifying analysis *** total error is then partitioned into three orthogonal components:(a)large scale positional,(b)large scale structural,and(c)small scale error *** use of FED is demonstrated over a month-long MSLP data *** expected,positional errors are often characterized by dipole patterns related to the displacement of features,while structural errors appear with single extrema,indicative of magnitude *** most important result of this study is that over the test period,more than 50%of the total mean sea level pressure forecast error variance is associated with large scale positional *** importance of positional error in forecasts of other variables and over different time periods remain to be explored.
