The combination of urbanization and global warming leads to urban overheating and compounds the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events due to climate ***,the risk of urban overheating can be mitigated by urban green-blue-grey infrastructure(GBGI),such as parks,wetlands,and engineered greening,which have the potential to effectively reduce summer air *** many reviews,the evidence bases on quantified GBGI cooling benefits remains partial and the practical recommendations for implementation are *** systematic literature review synthesizes the evidence base for heat mitigation and related co-benefits,identifies knowledge gaps,and proposes recommendations for their implementation to maximize their *** screening 27,486 papers,202 were reviewed,based on 51 GBGI types categorized under 10 main *** GBGI(green walls,parks,street trees)have been well researched for their urban cooling ***,several other GBGI have received negligible(zoological garden,golf course,estuary)or minimal(private garden,allotment)*** most efficient air cooling was observed in botanical gardens(5.0±3.5℃),wetlands(4.9±3.2℃),green walls(4.1±4.2℃),street trees(3.8±3.1℃),and vegetated balconies(3.8±2.7℃).Under changing climate conditions(2070–2100)with consideration of RCP8.5,there is a shift in climate subtypes,either within the same climate zone(e.g.,dfa to dfb and Cfb to Cfa)or across other climate zones(e.g.,dfb[continental warm-summer humid]to BSk[dry,cold semi-arid]and Cwa[temperate]to Am[tropical]).These shifts may result in lower efficiency for the current GBGI in the *** the importance of multiple services,it is crucial to balance their functionality,cooling performance,and other related co-benefits when planning for the future *** global GBGI heat mitigation inventory can assist policymakers and urban planners in prioritizing effective interventions to reduce the risk of urban overheating,fi

目的通过网络药理学技术预测酸枣仁复方(Ziziphi spinosae semen formula, ZSSF)对于抑郁症的关键作用靶点,并通过利血平诱导的抑郁斑马鱼模型验证酸枣仁复方治疗抑郁症的作用机制。方法通过TCMSP数据库检索酸枣仁复方的药物作用靶点,利用UniProt数据库对靶点名称进行校正。采用GeneCards、OMIM、NCBI数据库检索抑郁症相关靶点,并对3个数据库的靶点结果进行汇总去比重。利用STRING数据库预测了交集靶点的蛋白质-蛋白质相互作用(protein-protein interaction, PPI)信息,利用Metascape数据库构建进行富集研究,并利用微生信对KEGG和GO的富集结果实现了可视化。通过利血平诱导的斑马鱼抑郁模型进行行为学实验和RT-qPCR实验,验证酸枣仁复方对抑郁症的治疗作用。结果筛选出抑郁症与酸枣仁复方的交集靶点188个,蛋白质-蛋白质相互作用结果显示,酸枣仁复方抗抑郁主要作用于肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、血清白细胞介素2(IL-2)、血清白细胞介素6(IL-6)、血清白细胞介素1β(IL-1β)、血清白细胞介素10(IL-10)等靶点,KEGG通路富集分析表明,酸枣仁复方通过TNF信号通路、PI3K-Akt信号通路、cGMP-PKG信号通路等多种信号通路发挥其治疗抑郁症的作用。动物实验结果显示,与利血平组相比,酸枣仁复方高、中、低剂量组斑马鱼在声光刺激下的运动距离显著延长(P<0.05),运动速度显著增快(P<0.01)。RT-qPCR结果显示,与利血平组相比,酸枣仁复方高、中、低剂量给药组斑马鱼脑组织中TNF-α、IL-2、IL-6、IL-1β、IL-10 mRNA表达水平上调(P<0.001)。结论酸枣仁复方通过多成分、多靶点发挥抗抑郁作用,且其抗抑郁作用可能与抑制炎症因子的表达有关。

This paper is devoted to the probabilistic stability analysis of a tunnel face excavated in a two-layer soil. The interface of the soil layers is assumed to be positioned above the tunnel roof. In the framework of limit analysis, a rotational failure mechanism is adopted to describe the face failure considering different shear strength parameters in the two layers. The surrogate Kriging model is introduced to replace the actual performance function to perform a Monte Carlo simulation. An active learning function is used to train the Kriging model which can ensure an efficient tunnel face failure probability prediction without loss of accuracy. The deterministic stability analysis is given to validate the proposed tunnel face failure model. Subsequently, the number of initial sampling points, the correlation coefficient, the distribution type and the coefficient of variability of random variables are discussed to show their influences on the failure probability. The proposed approach is an advisable alternative for the tunnel face stability assessment and can provide guidance for tunnel design.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disabling disease that can affect 6% to 12% of the adult population and more than a third of people over 65 years of age. Purpose: To assess whether a group of people with hand osteoarthritis (hOA) who received different types of treatment improved their function after two years of follow-up. Method: The entire sample (n = 97) underwent three follow-up assessments regarding anthropometric parameters of the upper limbs and ability to perform functional activities. Subsequently, the sample was divided into two groups for the intervention periods, called the First Period (n = 73) and the Second Period (n = 24);the First Period kept the same protocol with orientations, and the Second Period went to an intervention with orientation strength exercises and use of orthosis. Findings: In the separate analysis of the three questions of the dASH pain module, no differences were found between the assessment moments for groups of guidelines, treatment, or symptoms. Significant effects were observed for F(2, 162) = 3.5, p = 0.033, η2 = 0.04, and interaction for moments and intervention F(2, 162) = 4.3, p = 0.016, η2 = 0.05. Implications: It can be concluded that only guidance treatment does not benefit patients with hand osteoarthritis. In contrast, guidance, exercise, and orthosis treatment can significantly improve the disease.

Modeling Size-number distributions of Seeds for Use in Soil Bank Studies

Knowledge of soil seed banks is essential to understand the dynamics of plant populations and communities and would greatly benefit from the integration of existing knowledge on ecological correlations of seed size and shape. The present study aims to establish a feasible and meaningful method to describe size-number distributions of seeds in multi-species situations. For that purpose, size-number distributions of seeds with known length, width and thickness were determined by sequential sieving. The most appropriate combination of sieves and seeds dimensions was established, and the adequacy of the power function and the Weibull model to describe size-number distributions of spherical, non-spherical, and all seeds was investigated. We found that the geometric mean of seed length, width and thickness was the most adequate size estimator, providing shape-independent measures of seeds volume directly related to sieves mesh side, and that both the power function and the Weibull model provide high quality descriptions of size-number distributions of spherical, non-spherical, and all seeds. We also found that, in spite of its slightly lower accuracy, the power function is, at this stage, a more trustworthy model to characterize size-number distributions of seeds in soil banks because in some Weibull equations the estimates of the scale parameter were not acceptable.
