Ext.act.on of sulphonat.d dyes t.rough supramolecular int.ract.on wit. calix[4]arene derivat.ves is being present.d here. t.e select.vit. of calixarene derivat.ves namely piperidine derivat.ve of calix[4]arene (calix-1), 1-met.yl piperazine derivat.ve of calix[4]arene (calix-2), and di-met.yl amine derivat.ve of calix[4]arene (calix-3) were evaluat.d init.ally against.react.ve red 2 (RR-2), acid black (AB), react.ve blue 19 (B-19) and synt.et.c dye (D-2) by liquid-liquid ext.act.on experiment. t.e result. showed t.at.t.e above t.ree calixarenes possess excellent.complexat.on abilit.es t.ward t.e select.d dyes. t.e st.ichiomet.ic rat.o for t.e calixarene derivat.ves and dyes was est.mat.d t.rough Job’s plot. whereas Hildebrand-Benesi equat.on was used t. calculat. format.on const.nt.(Ks) and molar absorpt.vit. (Δε) of complexes. t.e binding associat.on (Ka) and dissociat.on (Kd) const.nt. were calculat.d by Scat.hard plot.addit.onally t. furt.er support.t.e complexat.on dat. obt.ined from Hildebrand-Benesi equat.on. Conversely associat.on const.nt. from, bot. Hildebrand-Benesi equat.on and Scat.hard plot.i.e. Ks and Ka favor st.ong binding int.ract.on bet.een calix-1: D-2, calix-2: B-19, and calix-3: AB complexes. t.us present.st.dy adept.y support. t.e complexat.on of calixarene derivat.ves for sulfonat.d dyes.

Efficient.Removal of React.ve Orange 107 Dye from Aqueous Media by Shrimp Shell Derived Chit.san Funct.onalized Magnet.c Nanopart.cles

In present.work chit.san funct.onalized magnet.c nanopart.cles (CMNPs) were successfully prepared and invest.gat.d for t.e removal of React.ve Orange 107 dye (RO 107) from wat.r. t.e chit.san was ext.act.d from shrimp shells (Penaeus merguiensis) and was charact.rized by solubilit. t.st.and fourier t.ansform infrared spect.oscopy (Ft.R). Degree of deacet.lat.on of chit.san was examined by 1H-NMR and pot.nt.omet.ic t.t.at.on met.od. t.ereaft.r, t.e chit.san was used for synt.esis of CMNPs. t.e synt.esized CMNPs were charact.rized by Ft.R, scanning elect.on microscopy-energy dispersive spect.oscopy (SEM-EDS), t.ermal gravimet.ic analysis (t.A) and at.mic force microscopy (AFM). Effect. of various variables such as cont.ct.t.me, pH, st.rring speed, adsorbent.dosage, t.mperat.re, and concent.at.on of elect.olyt. on ext.act.on efficiency were evaluat.d. Freundlich isot.erm model fit. bet.er t.at.shows t.e removal of RO 107 wit. CMNPs by mult.layer adsorpt.on behaviour. Furt.ermore, kinet.c st.dy showed t.at.adsorpt.on process followed pseudo-second order kinet.c model regulat.d by chemisorpt.on. t.ermodynamic analysis explained t.at.adsorpt.on of RO 107 ont. CMNPs was endot.ermic as well as spont.neous. t.e developed CNMPs were applied t. environment.l remediat.on of spiked RO 107 t.eat.d wast. wat.r samples wit. 96.20% removal pot.nt.al, hence, offered an effect.ve sorbent.for removal of RO 107 cont.minat.d wat.r samples.
