In an almost cubical reactor 90 1 in volume which is intended to deposit organic polymers by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition （PECVD）, microwave power is coupled into the volume via a quartz window which extends to approximately 1/10 of the sidewall area. Since the plasma is excited locally, plasma parameters like electron temperature and plasma density are expected to exhibit a spatial variation. The compilation of these plasma quantities has been accomplished with a bendable single Langmuir probe. To isolate the tungsten wire against its grounded housing tube, it was coated with polyparylene. After having compared this construction with our Langmuir probe, which has been now in use for more than a decade, we have taken data of more than half the volume of the reactor with argon and have found a definitive radial inhomogenity for all plasma parameters. To investigate whether this conduct can be determined applying optical emission spectroscopy, we improved our spectrometer which had been used for endpoint detection purposes and plasma diagnostics in chlorine-containing ambients where we could detect also a spatial dependence. This behavior is discussed in terms of Lieberman＇s global model.

A joint consideration of potential combustion and emission performance in spark-ignition engines is essential for designing gasoline fuel replacements and additives,for which the knowledge of the fuels’characteristic properties forms the *** aim of this study is to predict sooting tendency of fuel molecules for spark-ignition engine applications in terms of their yield sooting indexes(YSI).In conjunction with our previously developed database for gasoline compounds,which includes the physical and chemical properties,such as octane numbers,laminar burning velocity,and heat of vaporization,for more than 600 species,the identification of fuel replacements and additives can thus be performed jointly with respect to both their potential thermal efficiency benefits and emission formation characteristics in spark-ignition *** this purpose,a quantitative structure-property relationship(QSPR)model is developed to predict the YSI of fuel species by using artificial neural network(ANN)techniques with 21 well-selected functional group descriptors as input *** model is trained and cross-validated with the YSI database reported by Yale *** is then applied to estimate the YSI values of fuels available in the database for gasoline compounds and to explore the sensitivity of fuel’s sooting tendency on molecular *** addition,the correlation of YSI values with other properties available in the gasoline fuel database is examined to gain insights into the dependence of these ***,a selection of potential gasoline blending components is carried out exemplarily,by taking the fuels’potential benefits in thermal engine efficiency and their soot formation characteristics jointly into account in terms of efficiency merit function and YSI,respectively.

Harvesting wind energy is promising for extending long-endurance flights,which can be greatly facilitated by a flight technique called dynamic *** presented study is concerned with generating model-based trajectories with smooth control histories for dynamic soaring maneuvers exploiting wind *** desired smoothness is achieved by introducing a trigonometric series parameterization for the controls,which are formulated with respect to the normalized ***,the periodicity of the trigonometric functions is leveraged to facilitate the connection of cycles and streamline the problem *** relying on a specified wind profile,a freefinal-time quadratic programming-based control strategy is developed for the online correction of the flight trajectory,which requires only the instant wind *** and online numerical studies show the trade-off to achieve the smoothness and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in a varying wind field.

This article uses the examples of guide maps,so-called autothemed rides,and apps to examine the aesthetics of theme park metatexts,that is,medial representations of theme parks or parts thereof that are produced by the parks themselves and that serve as a medial interface between the park landscape and its *** theme park metatexts have frequently been employed as sources in theme park research,but have only very rarely been figured as objects of research *** on Lukas’s description of theme parks’representational strategies as a“politics of inclusion/exclusion,”the essay argues that theme park metatexts stress certain aspects of the park while deemphasizing others,and thus have a major impact on the way visitors anticipate,experience,and remember the *** applies to more“traditional”forms of metatexts such as printed guide maps,which are handed out for free to theme park visitors,to“autothemed”rides,in which the theme park represents itself in the medium of the theme park ride,but especially to theme park apps,which not only further intensify the“politics of exclusion”of,for example,guide maps,but also involve the visitor in their selection processes.

Co-Al-W-0.1B superalloys have been isothermally oxidized at 900℃ for 1000,5000 and 10000 h in order to investigate their oxidation *** oxide layers and morphologies were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy combined with energy-dispersive ***1000 h exposure,a Co3W/γ zone,an Al2O3layer,a mixture of Co,Al,W oxides layer and a CoO layer are established on the substrate *** extended oxidation,a discontinuous Al2O3layer in Co-9Al-8W-0.1B and Co-9Al-9W-0.1B alloys leads to an additional mixed oxide layer on the substrate instead of the Co3W/γ *** oxide layers that form on the Co-9Al-8W-0.1B and Co-9Al-9W-0.1B alloys are much thicker than those on the Co-9Al-11W-0.1B alloy,and continuously thicken during *** higher content of W is beneficial to improving the oxidation resistance as it facilitates a faster formation of Co3Was well as Al2O3.

Purpose: This study expands on the results of a stakeholder-driven research project on quality indicators and output assessment of art and design research in Flanders-the Northern, Dutchspeaking region of Belgium. Herein, it emphasizes the value of arts & design output registration as a modality to articulate the disciplinary demarcations of art and design ***/methodology/approach: The particularity of art and design research in Flanders is first analyzed and compared to international examples. Hereafter, the results of the stakeholderdriven project on the creation of indicators for arts & design research output assessment are discussed. Findings: The findings accentuate the importance of allowing an assessment culture to emerge from practitioners themselves, instead of imposing ill-suited methods borrowed from established scientific evaluation models(Biggs & Karlsson, 2011)-notwithstanding the practical difficulties it generates. They point to the potential of stakeholder-driven approaches for artistic research, which benefits from constructing a shared metadiscourse among its practitioners regarding the continuities and discontinuities between "artistic" and "traditional" research, and the communal goals and values that guide its knowledge production(Biggs & Karlsson, 2011;Hellstr?m, 2010;Ysebaert & Martens, 2018). Research limitation: The central limitation of the study is that it focuses exclusively on the "Architecture & Design" panel of the project, and does not account for intra-disciplinary complexities in output assessment. Practical implications: The goal of the research project is to create a robust assessment system for arts & design research in Flanders, which may later guide similar international projects. Originality/value: This study is currently the only one to consider the productive potential of(collaborative) PRFSs for artistic research.
