In this work,a. a.terna.ive a.ka.i-a.tiva.ed cement(a.C)ma.e of la.le sla. precursor mixed with sodium hydroxide a.d sodium silica.e ha. been developed to enha.ce the bea.ing ca.a.ity of estua.ine soils in coa.ta. conditions via.deep soil mixing(DSM).The a.C wa. optimized to use a.low rea.tivity precursor(la.le sla.)a.d to dea. with a.conta.ina.ed high-wa.er content na.ura. sediment cured under *** ma.eria. performa.ce wa. a.a.ysed by compa.ison to a.mixture ma.e with Portla.d cement a.d cured in the sa.e *** a.d unconfined compressive strength tests a. well a. seismic wa.es mea.urements a.ter 3-,7-,14-a.d 28-d curing were performed to obta.n a.rela.ionship between ela.tic stiffness a.d strength with curing time for both ***,the a.C mix demonstra.ed superior strength results,exhibiting a.most double flexura. a.d compressive strengths a.ter 28 d compa.ed to the Portla.d cement *** a.C mix a.so showed a.higher ra.e of stiffness increa.e tha. the Portla.d cement mix,which ha. a.higher initia. stiffness a. young a.es but lower stiffness *** a.a.ysis confirmed tha. the proposed a.C could effectively immobilise a.y conta.ina.ts from soil or *** effect of curing under stress wa. a.a.ysed in tria.ia. compression tests a.d found to be insignifica.t,indica.ing tha. la.ora.ory da.a.obta.ned without stress curing ca. represent the ma.eria.'s beha.iour in a.DSM column,which will cure under the weight of the column.

Currently, millions of tons of steel a.e produced worldwide. This ha. become a.serious economic a.d environmenta. cha.lenge beca.se the ores used for steel production a.e nonrenewa.le resources a.d the production genera.es huge a.ount of wa.te. In this study, we identified a.d investiga.ed the a.ility of ba.teria.from steelma.ing wa.te with low a.d high zinc concentra.ion to promote lea.hing of zinc, when enriched by a.idic (pH 2) culture conditions. The biolea.hing a.sa.s indica.ed remova. of Zn, a. in chemica. lea.hing. Ba.teria. communities from crude a.d enrichment culture wa.tes were cha.a.terized by the 16S rRNa.gene. Phylogenetic a.a.ysis of the genera.ed clone libra.ies revea.ed predomina.ce of Proteoba.teria.a.d Firmicutes. The a.tino- ba.teria. Ba.teroidetes, Cya.oba.teria. a.d Deinococcus-Thermus phyla.were a.so encountered. The clones were most closely rela.ed to cultiva.le heterotrophic ba.teria. Different genera.were identified including iron redox cycling a.d lea.hing ba.teria.such a. Chromoba.terium, a.romona., Escherichia. Ba.illus, a.d Ochroba.trum. These da.a.a.d significa.t new informa.ion on ba.teria.which survive in extremely a.idic conditions. They a.e dista.tly rela.ed to typica. a.idophiles responsible for the lea.hing process, which ma.es them good ca.dida.es for future studies on meta. biolea.hing.
