State-of-the-art on the anchorage performance of rock bolts subjected to shear load

Rock bolts are extensively utilized in underground engineering as a means of offering support and stability to rock masses in tunnels,mines,and other underground *** environments of high ground stress,faults or weak zones can frequently arise in rock formations,presenting a significant challenge for engineering and potentially leading to underground engineering *** bolts serve as a crucial structural element for the transmission of tensile stress and are capable of withstanding shear loads to prevent sliding of weak zones within rock ***,a complete understanding of the behavior of rock bolts subjected to shear loads is *** paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the research progress of rock bolts subjected to shear load in three categories:experiment,numerical simulation,and analytical *** review focuses on the research studies and developments in this area since the 1970s,providing a comprehensive overview of numerous factors that influence the anchorage performance of rock *** factors include the diameter and angle of the rock bolt installation,rock strength,grouting material,bolt material,borehole diameter,rock bolt preload,normal stress,joint surface roughness and joint expansion *** paper reviews the improvement of mechanical parameter setting in numerical simulation of rock bolt ***,it delves into the optimization of the analytical model concerning rock bolt shear theory,approached from the perspectives of both Elastic foundation beam theory coupled with Elastoplasticity theory and Structural mechanic *** significance of this review lies in its ability to provide insights into the mechanical behavior of rock *** paper also highlights the limitations of current research and guidelines for further research of rock bolts.

The variation of microbiological characteristics in surface waters during persistent precipitation

Climate change leads to an increase in both the frequency and intensity of extreme *** runoff generated by extreme precipitation has a significant impact on ***,the impact of persistent precipitation on surface water quality is easy to neglect,due to its prolonged duration and lower-intensity *** study established eight sampling points within selected surface waters to observe the variation of microbial characteristics in a typical persistence precipitation *** primary difference between Furong Lake(FL)and chengqian Reservoir(CR)was:the concentrations of dissolved organic carbon(DOC)were 21.3±0.7 and 8.3±1.5 mg/L in FL and CR,*** concentrations of R2A culturable bacteria and coliforms were 10^(4.57)and 10^(1.58)colony-forming units(CFU)/mL in FL,and were 10^(5.46)and 10^(2.64)CFU/mL in CR,*** precipitation,the maximum increase concentrations of R2A,NA culturable bacteria,and coliforms were 10^(0.75),10^(1.30),and 10^(2.27)CFU/mL in FL,***,microbial concentration and rainfall did not increase simultaneously,and a delay phenomenon was observed in the increasing microbial *** analyzing the concentration change trends and correlation of various water quality indicators during persistent precipitation,the significant correlation between the DOC concentration and the changes in the dominant species of microbial community structure was found in this study(p<0.05).For example,as the DOC concentration declined,the abundance of hgcl_clade and CL500-29_marine_group ***,although persistent precipitation might not obviously alter the water quality visibly,it could still pose potential microbial risks.

A Possible X-ray Quasi-periodic Oscillation in the Narrow-line Seyfert 1 Galaxy Mrk 142

A possible quasi-periodic oscillation(QPO) at frequency 7.045 × 10^(-5) Hz is found in the narrow-line Seyfert 1galaxy Mrk 142 in the data of XMM-Newton collected on 2020 April *** find that the QPO signal is statistically significantly larger than the 5σ level and highly coherent with quality factor Q > 5 at the 0.3–10 keV band by using the method of the Lomb–Scargle Periodogram,the Weighted Wavelet Z-transform and the *** analyze the data in 0.3–0.6 keV,0.6–1 keV,1–3 keV and 3–10 keV energy bands,and find obvious QPO signals at 0.3–0.6 keV and 1–3 keV *** then analyze the time-average spectra and time variability at the QPO frequency of 7.045 × 10^(-5) Hz,and use a model to fit *** find that the QPO signal mainly comes from the X-ray hot corona.

Lignans are a powerful weapon for plants to resist stresses and have diverse bioactive functions to protect human *** the mechanisms of stereoselective biosynthesis and response to stresses of lignans is important for the guidance of plant ***,we identified the complete pathway to stereoselectively synthesize antiviral(-)-lariciresinol glucosides in Isatis indigotica roots,which consists of three-step sequential stereoselective enzymes DIR1/2,PLR,and ***1 was further identified as the key gene in respoJanuary 2024nse to stresses and was able to trigger stress defenses by mediating the elevation in lignan ***,the phytohormone-responsive ERF transcription factor LTF1 colocalized with DIR1 in the cell periphery of the vascular regions in mature roots and helped resist biotic and abiotic stresses by directly regulating the expression of *** systematic results suggest that DIR1 as the first common step of the lignan pathway cooperates with PLR and UGT71B2 to stereoselectively synthesize(-)-lariciresinol derived antiviral lignans in *** roots and is also a part of the LTF1-mediated regulatory network to resist *** conclusion,the LTF1-DIR1 module is an ideal engineering target to improve plant Defenses while increasing the content of valuable lignans in plants.

Trace Element Mobility in Subducted Marble and Associated Eclogite:Constraints from UHP Rocks in the Shuanghe Area,Central-East China

In order to decipher element mobility in UHP meta-sedimentary rocks in the continental subduction zone,major and trace element compositions are investigated for a continuous profile from a representative UHP region in the Dabie *** the lithologic contact zone,contents of K,Ca,LREE,and LILE exhibit varying degrees of downward trends in both marble and eclogite toward the contact zone,indicating that marble and their associated eclogite can release a large amount of K,Ca,and a small number of LILEs and *** is the main Ti phase in both marble and *** rims around rutile can occasionally be seen in *** of Ti and HFSE exhibit a well-coupled relation among marble and eclogite,indicating that substantial Ti and HFSEs were migrated from eclogite to marble,in accord with the capacity of a melt *** and titanites in marble exhibit a relatively limited variation in Nb/Ta ratios(12.9-16.2),similar to those of titanites in eclogite(14.2-16.7),which demonstrates that rutiles and titanites in marble were sourced from eclogite because of short-distance migrations of Ti and *** to the P-T path and the temperature and pressure conditions of the peak metamorphism reported by previous studies,the eclogite associated with marble may not form supercritical fluids in the subduction zone because of the addition of carbonate minerals.

Wave Attenuation and Turbulence Driven by Submerged Vegetation Under Current-Wave Flow

A set of laboratory experiments are carried out to investigate the effect of following/opposing currents on wave *** vegetation canopies with aligned and staggered configurations were tested under the condition of various regular wave heights and current velocities,with the constant water depth being 0.60 m to create the desired submerged *** show that the vegetation-induced wave dissipation is enhanced with the increasing incident wave height.A larger velocity magnititude leads to a greater wave height attenuation for both following and opposing current ***,there is a strong positive linear correlation between the damping coefficientβand the relative wave height H_(0)/h,especially for pure wave *** the velocity profile,the distributions of U_(min)and U_(max)show different patterns under combined wave and *** time-averaged turbulent kinetic energy(TKE)vary little under pure wave and U_(c)=±0.05 m/s *** the increase of flow velocity amplitude,the time-averaged TKE shows a particularly pronounced increase trend at the top of the *** vegetation drag coefficients are obtained by a calibration *** empirical relations of drag coefficient with Reynolds and Keulegane-Carpenter numbers are proposed to further understand the wave-current-vegetation interaction mechanism.

Improved nuclear mass formula with an additional term from the Fermi gas model

Nuclear mass is a fundamental property of nuclear physics and a necessary input in nuclear *** to the complexity of atomic nuclei and nonperturbative strong interactions,conventional physical models cannot completely describe nuclear binding *** this study,the mass formula was improved by considering an additional term from the Fermi gas *** nuclear masses in the Atomic Mass Evaluation Database were reproduced with a root-mean-square deviation(RMSD)of -1.86 MeV(1.92 MeV).The new mass formula exhibits good performance in the neutron-rich nuclear *** RMSD decreases to 0.393 MeV when the ratio of the neutron number to the proton number is≥1.6.

Recent progress in single crystal perovskite X-ray detectors

Perovskites have attracted extensive attention as radiation detection material due to their long carrier diffusion length and lifetime, high absorption coefficient, and flexible manufacturing process. Compared with polycrystalline structures, single crystal perovskites improve the performance of optoelectronic devices due to their low defect state density, better photoelectric characteristics, and chemical ***, we review the recent progress of single crystal perovskite X-ray detectors. First, we briefly introduced the basic concepts, detection mechanisms, figure of merits of perovskite X-ray detectors, and the preparation methods of single crystal perovskites. Then, we summarized the significant advancements in single crystal perovskite X-ray detectors in recent times. Finally, we discussed the critical challenges and some practicable solutions for developing high-performance X-ray detectors.

BACKGROUND Pituitary gland metastasis is an unusual event,and pituitary metastasis from lung adenocarcinoma is extremely rare and associated with poor *** date,approximately 15 cases have been *** SUMMARY Here,we present the case of a 64-year-old woman with pituitary metastasis derived from lung adenocarcinoma,which was difficult to distinguish from other sellar *** patient presented to the neurosurgery clinic with blurred vision and intermittent *** hospitalization,brain computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a pituitary *** CT revealed irregular nodules in the basal segment of the lower lobe of the left lung,which were likely lung *** emission tomography-CT revealed a carbohydrate metabolism tumor in the lungs and sellar region,which was considered *** pathological examination of the sellar tumor revealed lung *** Excision of pituitary metastases combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be a priority treatment for patients with pituitary metastasis.
