Primary cutaneous B cell lymphoma: Clinical features, diagnosis and treatment

Primary cutaneous B cell lymphoma(PCBCL) is defined as B cell lymphomas that presents in the skin without any evidence of extra-cutaneous involvement at diagnosis. They are the second most common type of primary cutaneous lymphomas accounting for 25%-30%. Since the prognosis and treatment differ from systemic lymphomas involving the skin, differential diagnosis is very important. PCBCL is a heterogeneous group of disease comprising different B cell lymphomas with distinct treatment and prognosis. PCBCL is divided into 5 subclasses according to World Health Organization and European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer classification. Primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoma and primary cutaneous follicle centerlymphoma are indolent forms and often confined to skin at presentation and during the course of the disease. But primary cutaneous diffuse large B cell lymphoma, leg type and intravascular large B cell lymphoma are more aggressive forms that may disseminate to extra-cutaneous tissues. There is not a treatment consensus since they are rare entities. Local therapies like radiotherapy, surgery or intralesional steroids are options for localized disease in indolent forms. More disseminated disease may be treated with a systemic therapy like single agent rituximab. However combination chemotherapies which are used in systemic lymphomas are also required for aggressive PCBCL. Although indolent forms have relatively better prognosis, early relapses and disseminated diseases are mostly observed in aggressive form with a consequent poor prognosis.

Chronic myeloid leukemia(CML) is a myeloproliferative disease which leads the unregulated growth of myeloid cells in the bone marrow. It is characterized by the presence of Philadelphia chromosome. Reciprocal translocation of the ABL gene from chromosome 9 to 22 t(9; 22)(q34; q11.2) generate a fusion gene(BCRABL). BCR-ABL protein had constitutive tyrosine kinase activity that is a primary cause of chronic phase of CML. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) are now considered standard therapy for patients with CML. Even though, successful treatment with the TKIs, allogeneic stem cell transplantation(ASCT) is still an important option for the treatment of CML, especially for patients who are resistant or intolerant to at least one second generation TKI or for patients with blastic phase. Today, we know that there is no evidence for increased transplantrelated toxicity and negative impact of survival with pretransplant TKIs. However, there are some controversies about timing of ASCT, the optimal conditioning regimens and donor source. Another important issue is that BCRABL signaling is not necessary for survival of CML stem cell and TKIs were not effective on these cells. So, ASCT may play a role to eliminate CML stem cells. In this article, we review the diagnosis, management and treatment of CML. Later, we present our center's outcomes of ASCT for patients with CML and then, we discuss the place of ASCT in CML treatment in the TKIs era.

Eclipsing binary stars with a pulsating component are powerful tools that allow us to probe the stellar interior structure and the evolutionary statuses with a good accuracy. Therefore, in this study, spectroscopic and photometric examinations of an eclipsing binary system V948 Her are presented. The primary component of the system is classified to be a candidate 3 Scuti variable in the literature. The fundamental stellar, atmospheric and orbital parameters, and the surface abundance of the star were determined and the pulsation behaviour was investigated in this study. The orbital parameters were derived by the analysis of radial velocity and SuperWASP light curves. The spectral classification was found to be F2V. The initial atmospheric parameters of the primary component were derived by analysis of the spectral energy distribution and hydrogen lines. The final atmospheric parameters and chemical abundances of the primary component were obtained by using the method of spectrum synthesis. As a result, the final atmospheric parameters were determined as Teff= 7100±200 K, log 9= 4.34±0.1 cgs and ζ = 2.2 4± 0.2 km s^-1. The surface abundance was found to be similar to solar. The fundamental stellar parameters of both components were also obtained to be M = 1.722 4±0.123, 0.762 4± 0.020 Me, R = 1.655 4± 0.034,M,R= 0.689 ± 0.016 R for primary and secondary components, respectively. The pulsation characteristic of the primary component was examined using SuperWASP data and the pulsation period was found to be ~0.038 d. The position of the primary pulsating component was also obtained inside the instability strip of δ Sct stars. The primary component of V948 Her was defined to be a Sct variable.

In this paper, we establish travelling wave solutions for some nonlinear evolution equations. The first integral method is used to construct the travelling wave solutions of the modified Benjamin-Bona-Mahony and the coupled Klein-Gordon equations. The obtained results include periodic and solitary wave solutions. The first integral method presents a wider applicability to handling nonlinear wave equations.

Forest fires,whether caused naturally or by human activity can have disastrous effects on the ***,located in the Mediterranean climate zone,experiences hundreds of forest fires every *** the past two decades,these fires have destroyed approximately 308000 ha of forest area,threatening the sustainability of its *** study analyzes the forest fire that occurred in the Menderes region of Izmir on July 1,2017,by using pre-and post-fire Sentinel 2(10 m and 20 m)and Landsat 8(30 m)satellite images,MODIS and VIIRS fire radiative power(FRP)data(1000 m and 375 m,respectively),and reference data obtained from a field ***,image processing techniques integrated with the Geographic Information System(GIS)database were applied to a satellite image data set to monitor,analyze,and map the effects of the forest *** results show that the land surface temperature(LST)of the burned forest area increased from 1 to 11°C.A high correlation(R=0.81)between LST and burn severity was also *** burned areas were calculated using two different classification methods,and their accuracy was compared with the reference *** to the accuracy assessment,the Sentinel(10 m)image classification gave the best result(96.43%for Maximum Likelihood,and 99.56%for Support Vector Machine).The relationship between topographical/forest parameters,burn severity and disturbance index was evaluated for spatial pattern *** to the results,the areas having canopy closure between 71%–100%and slope above 35%had the highest burn *** a final step,a spatial correlation analysis was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of MODIS and VIIRS FRP data in the postfire analysis.A high correlation was found between FRPslope,and FRP-burn severity(0.96 and 0.88,respectively).

Quantifying a critical marl thickness for vertical fracture extension using field data and numerical experiments

Simple sequence repeats（SSRs） defined as sequence repeat units between 1 and 6 bp occur abundantly in both coding and non-coding regions in eukaryotic genomes and these repeats can affect gene expression. In this study, ESTs（expressed sequence tags） of Betula pendula（silver birch） were analyzed for in silico mining of ESTSSRs, protein annotation, open reading frames（ORFs）,designing primers, and identifying codon repetitions. In ***, the frequency of ESTs containing SSRs was 7.8 %with an average of 1SSR/4. 78 kb of EST sequences. A total of 188 SSRs was identified by using MISA software and dinucleotide SSR motifs（65.9 %） were found to be the most abundant type of repeat motif followed by tri-（27.1 %）,tetra-（4.8 %）, and penta-（2.2 %） motifs. Based on ORF analysis, 175 of 178 sequences were predicted as ORFs and the most frequent SSRs were detected in 50 UTR（58.43 %）,followed by in ORF（31.46 %） and in 30UTR（8.43 %）. 102 of 178 ESTs were annotated as ribosomal protein, transport protein, membrane protein, carrier protein, binding protein,and transferase protein. For a total of 102 SSRs（57.3 %）with significant matches, a set of 102 primers（100 %） with forward and reverse strands was designed by using Primer 3 software. Serine（Ser, 19.6 %） was predominant in putative encoded amino acids and most of amino acids showed nonpolar（35.3 %） nature. Our data provide resources for *** and can be useful for in silico comparative analyses of Betulaceae species, including SSR mining.
