BACKGROUND Human papillomavirus(HPV)is one of the most common sexually transmitted viruses *** To analyze the prevalence of HPV infection in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-positive patients and the risk factors associated with this infection through a review of studies published in the period from January 2010 to April *** A total of 384 articles were initially identified in our searches,of which ten were selected according to previously defined eligibility *** Anal intercourse,absence of condom use,multiple partners,other specific sexual and life habits,and HIV infection are among the risk factors associated with anal HPV *** In general,there is a higher prevalence of anal HPV infection among HIV-positive patients,mostly in individuals over 30 years old,those with multiple partners,those who had an early homosexual debut,and cigarette,alcohol,and drug users.

Despite scientific advances in the Oncology field,cancer remains a leading cause of death *** and cellular heterogeneity of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)is a significant contributor to the unpredictability of the clinical response and failure in cancer *** stem cells(CSCs)are recognized as a subpopulation of tumor cells that can drive and maintain tumorigenesis and metastasis,leading to poor prognosis in different types of *** exhibit a high level of plasticity,quickly adapting to the tumor microenvironment changes,and are intrinsically resistant to current chemo and *** mechanisms of CSC-mediated therapy resistance are not fully ***,they include different strategies used by CSCs to overcome challenges imposed by treatment,such as activation of DNA repair system,anti-apoptotic mechanisms,acquisition of quiescent state and Epithelial-mesenchymal transition,increased drug efflux capacity,hypoxic environment,protection by the CSC niche,overexpression of stemness related genes,and immune *** elimination of CSCs seems to be the main target for achieving tumor control and improving overall survival for cancer *** review will focus on the multi-factorial mechanisms by which CSCs are resistant to radiotherapy and chemotherapy in HNSCC,supporting the use of possible strategies to overcome therapy failure.

There is pressure from consumers about exchanging synthetic for natural dyes in foods. This review aimed to expose the potential of blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) as a source of natural dye, associated with its properties of functional food. Blueberry is a fruit plant natural from temperate climate, rich in phenolic compounds. The properties of phenolic compounds can be attributed to its ability to capture free radicals, deactivating or eliminating them from the body. Anthocyanins are flavonoid phenolic compounds responsible for color of fruits, flowers and vegetables. Blueberry is rich in anthocyanins, being its content more affected by genotype than by climatic or environmental factors. Brazil has the potential to assume an important position in the worldwide market of this fruit, both in natura and as byproducts, whose main destinations are populations from regions with higher income and educational level, as the North America and Europe. Due to the importance of blueberry as a source of natural pigments, as well as its high value while associated with functional food, it is important to improve extraction and stabilization processes of anthocyanins from blueberry fruits. Researches should focus on the technical viability and cost reduction in the extraction of this pigment. Pioneer studies with blueberry have been conducted in Brazil, but the intensification of researches will allow yield maximization, increased levels of anthocyanins in fruits, and compound stability after extraction. Another focus should be the use of these natural pigments in order to replace those currently used.

Strategic Partnership Between Private Organizations and Universities： The Search for Regional Development Through Solutions for Hospital Management

The public power and the private enterprise, the main agents of national economic and social development, when cooperating strategically, promote increased functional efficiency of their activities. In order to highlight the relevance of such partnership, this article aims to analyze the potential of actions jointly developed by private organizations and Brazilian universities. The research problem is lined in the field of health, which hosted actions developed between the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte （UFRN） and the Hospital Maternity Guiomar Fernandes （HMGF）, located in the city of Alexandria, in Rio Grande do Norte. The study emphasizes the shortcomings of this organization, the resolving power of the university in this scenario, and performs the analysis of the effects of this cooperation. The methodology used in this research was the case study in HMGF. With emphasis on fundraising and improving the informational management system, funding sources for projects of restructuring and expansion of the hospital were sought, as well as initiatives for developing hospital management softwares for small- and medium-sized organizations. As a result, the articulation between the university and the hospital provided the elaboration of a project for software development and the production of a project for physical restructuring and technological investment, aiming to expand the supply and quality of the hospital＇s services. The implementation of information systems, associated with investments in hospital infrastructure, providing increased efficiency in public assistance to the population, bringing both local and regional benefits, besides, providing the authorities with relevant data on the development of public policies.

GTD (Gestational Trophoblastic Disease) is a pathology that encompasses benign and malignant clinical forms, affects women of childbearing age, has a variable incidence and is more frequent in developing or underdeveloped countries, colliding with the economic barrier. The frequent absence of clear protocols and guidelines for the correct diagnosis of the pathology results in inadequate classification, imprecise treatment and failed post-therapeutic observation, increasing the risk of relapses, morbidity and mortality. The present study aims to point out updated national and international practice protocols of diagnosis of GTD, through an integrative review. Seven articles were selected and it was observed that the main international reference centers are agreed with the management suggested by the IFGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics), being the conduct in the Hydatidiform Mole (HM): evacuation by suction and curettage under ultrasound guidance, followed by hCG monitoring every 1 - 2 weeks until normalized (usually one month for Partial Hydatidiform Mole six months for Complete Hydatidiform Mole and one year for Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia). Unfortunately, regarding the diagnosis of MH, the guidelines of some countries show the absence or difficulty of access to the karyotype test and ploid p57 or pelvic ultrasound accompanying the uterine curettage, contrary to what is proposed by the IFGO guideline. Establishing and complying with consistent guidelines can improve patient care, with early diagnosis of the pathology and its complications, reducing the rate of recurrence, morbidity and mortality, especially in less developed countries.

The frequent absence of clear protocols and guidelines for the correct diagnosis and treatment of the aforementioned pathology results in inadequate risk classification, imprecise treatment and failed post-therapeutic observation, increasing the risk of relapses, morbidity and mortality. The present study aims to compare the different national and international guidelines in the management of GTD, through an integrative review. Nine articles were selected and it was observed that the main international reference centers are agreed with the management suggested by the IFGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics), being the conduct in the Hydatidiform Mole (HM): evacuation by suction and curettage under ultrasound guidance, followed by hCG monitoring every 1 - 2 weeks until normalized;in low-risk GTN (Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasm): chemotherapy with methotrexate or actinomycin D, in high-risk: EMA/CO protocol, in ultra-high-risk EMA/PE, methotrexate with radiotherapy for brain metastases. All medical societies recommend the registration of these patients in GTD screening centers, endorse the use of the IFGO scoring system (2000) and recommend the surgical management of placental site trophoblastic or epithelioid tumors, as chemotherapy is less effective in these cases. The controversies are in the proper follow-up after the treatment of HM, use of ultrasound to evacuate the uterus, administration of anti-D immunoglobulin, time of oxytocin infusion and rescue regimens that can be used in cases of resistant or recurrent GTN.
