Background: Most anxiety complaints are treated with pharmacological measures involving barbiturates and benzodiazepines, in which they may end up causing tolerance and pharmacological dependence. Integrative approaches such as aromatherapy are used in addition to medications to improve sleep quality and reduce anxiety. Thus, PinetoninTM, a phytocomplex obtained from a blend of essential oils aims to aid in the symptoms of stress and anxiety. Methods: The cytotoxicity of PinetoninTM was evaluated MTT assay using fibroblasts and astrocytes showed reduction in the cell viability only at high concentrations. Evaluation of intracellular calcium and determination of residual glutamate in the supernatant of astrocyte cultures showed agonist action of dihydroxyphenylglycine (DHPG) increasing linearly the concentration of intracellular calcium and the glutamate levels in the supernatants of the cultures. On the other hand, cultures of astrocytes treated with PinetoninTM showed residual glutamate levels in the supernatants reducing proportionally, as well as, intracellular calcium reduction. The determination of salivary cortisol showed a significant reduction in salivary cortisol levels in the group that received PinetoninTM. The evaluation of the electroencephalogram in patients treated with PinetoninTM had a significant increase (P Results: A reduction in dose-dependent cell viability was observed when compared to cultures of PinetoninTM treated fibroblasts with control culture. When PinetoninTM and linole are administered in astrocytic cells, there was a reduction of the intracellular concentration of Ca2+ against a control group treated with DHPG agonist. The evaluation of salivary cortisol demonstrated a reduction when the patient group was treated with PinetoninTM by purchasing the results against the group of patients treated with saline. Up-regulation of tumor necrosis factor-a pathway survival genes and of the receptor TNFR2 in gastric cancer

BACKGROUND Gastric carcinogenesis can be induced by chronic inflammation triggered by Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection. Tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and its receptors(TNFR1 and TNFR2) regulate important cellular processes, such as apoptosis and cell survival, and the disruption of which can lead to cancer. Agate geodes are treated and stained for the production of handmade artifacts and jewelry, which greatly increases their aggregate value. Unit operations involve storage, sorting, cutting, crushing, dyeing, polishing, washing, and finishing. Substantial amounts of waste materials are produced, which include agate pieces, powders (with or without oils), and wastewaters from organic and inorganic staining procedures. The aim of this work was to quantify the amounts of these waste materials, their characteristics, and possibilities for reuse or recycling in other productivity sectors in the context of the second decade of the 21st century. A review of the theme was carried out and possibilities were analyzed in the light of classic and new technologies.

Psychological Complaints at Psychological Emergency Service Associated with Referral to Extended Screening in a Psychology School Clinic

The Psychological Emergency Service(PES)at psychology school clinics is an unscheduled and free psychological service to meet urgent *** this service,some patients whose complaints require more time for clinical work are referred to the Extended Screening(ES),a modality composed of six extra *** study aims to analyze the sociodemographic profile of patients seen on PES in a Brazilian Psychology School Clinic,and to identify the demands that motivated referral to the ES,for better qualification of the care *** is a descriptive analysis research,carried out based on data from the medical records of 46 patients who went through the PES and were referred to the ES at the institution,between the years 2019 and *** data were collected and,from the session reports,a content analysis of the thematic analysis modality was performed to identify the *** participants’age ranged from 18 to 65 years,with a mean of 32.28 years(sd=10.95).There was a predominance of female participants(71.74%),that completed High School(39.14%)and had an income from one to two Brazilian minimum wages(32.61%).The most frequent complaints were depressive symptoms(56.52%)and difficulties in interpersonal relationships(32.61%).The results obtained,besides allowing the survey of the social and demographic profile of the clientele of the PES at the Psychology School Clinic,and demonstrating its social relevance by providing free psychological care,also show to be of great importance for the definition of more accurate criteria for referral to the ES of patients seen on PES.

Therapeutic Approach in Female Sexual Dysfunctions in an Outpatient Clinic of Sexology in the Public Health System: A Longitudinal and Prospective Study

INTRODUCTION: Sexuality is one of the parameters of quality of life, and it is essential to include care for sexual dysfunctions in primary health care. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the therapeutic approach in female sexual dysfunction in a public health outpatient clinic. DESIGN: A prospective cohort of women with sexual dysfunctions in an outpatient clinic of sexology in the Public Health System. The Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and scored 0 - 10 their sexual satisfaction were applied at the beginning and end of the follow-up. RESULTS: Eighty-nine women were included with a median age of 45 years, 69 (77.5%) had less than 11 years of schooling and 95.5% lived with a partner. The main reasons for referral for follow-up at the outpatient clinic of sexuality were dysfunction of hypoactive sexual desire disorder in 67.4% and pain related to sexual function in 46%. The average number of consultations was five and the main therapeutic interventions were guidance and clarification on sexuality (86.5%), use of topical estrogen (56.2%), and relaxation techniques (37.1%).
