AIM：To compare recovery of the visual acuity in patients one day after sub-Bowman keratomileusis（SBK）or laser in situ keratomileusis（LASIK）.· METHODS：Data from 5923 eyes in 2968 patients that received LASIK（2755 eyes） or SBK（3168 eyes） were retrospectively *** eyes were divided into 4groups according to preoperative spherical equivalent：between-12.00 to-9.00 D,extremely high myopia（n =396,including 192 and 204 in SBK and LASIK groups,respectively）;-9.00 to-6.00 D,high myopia（n=1822,including 991 and 831 in SBK and LASIK groups,respectively）,-6.00 to-3.00 D,moderate myopia（n=3071,including 1658 and 1413 in SBK and LASIK groups,respectively）,and-3.00 to 0.00 D,low myopia（n =634,including 327 and 307 in SBK and LASIK groups,respectively）.Uncorrected logMAR visual acuity values of patients were assessed under standard natural *** of variance was used for comparisons among different groups.· RESULTS：Uncorrected visual acuity values were0.0115±0.1051 and 0.0466±0.1477 at day 1 after operation for patients receiving SBK and LASIK,respectively（P〈0.01）;visual acuity values of 0.1854±0.1842,0.0615±0.1326,-0.0033±0.0978,and-0.0164±0.0972 were obtained for patients in the extremely high,high,moderate,and low myopia groups,respectively（P〈0.01）.In addition,significant differences in visual acuity at day 1 after operation were found between patients receiving SBK and LASIK in each myopia subgroup.· CONCLUSION：Compared with LASIK,SBK is safer and more effective,with faster ***,SBK is more likely to be accepted by patients than LASIK for better uncorrected visual acuity the day following operation.

The rational design of effective bifunctional electrocatalysts is of paramount importance for overall water-splitting technology in sustainable energy ***,bimetallic oxide catalysts(RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4))derived from Ru combined MOF-derivatives(MOF=metal-organic framework)were demonstrated effective for overall water splitting in an alkaline solution,owing to the combined merits such as the two-dimensional interconnected network structure,the synergetic coupling effects and increased chemical *** as-prepared RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) only requires an overpotential of 260 mV for oxygen evolution and 75 mV for hydrogen evolution at 10 mA/cm^(2) in 1 M KOH solution;a low cell voltage of 1.54 V was required to reach the kinetic current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) for the water electrolysis when supporting on glass carbon electrode,and very good stability for 40 h was *** and theoretical results demonstrated the electronic structure optimization of bimetallic RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) compared to the individual metal oxide,which promoted interface charges redistribution and the d-band center downshift,resulting in increased activity and stability for water-splitting *** work provides a feasible approach for developing bimetallic oxides for application in energy-relevant electrocatalysis reactions.

Optimized macroscopic tribological behavior can be anticipated in metallic glasses(MGs)by cryogenic cycling treatment(CCT),which is attributed to enhanced ***,the intrinsic friction mechanisms of MGs induced by cryogenic rejuvenation are still poorly *** the present study,nanoscopic wear tests were conducted on the Zr-based MGs surface with different CCT cycles using atomic force microscopy(AFM).After CCT treatment with 100 cycles,the MG displays the highest adhesion and ploughing frictions,but significantly improved anti-wear *** tests and molecular dynamics simulations disclose that the increased adhesion is attributed to the dominance of liquid-like regions in the CCT-treated MGs,and the impact of reduced hardness and weak elastic recovery results in the deteriorated ploughing *** enhanced plasticity effectively dissipates the strain from the AFM tip through multiple shear bands and weakens the adhesion during deformation,giving rise to excellent wear *** study elucidates the promoting effect of CCT on the outstanding antiwear performance of MGs,and is helpful for the development of novel alloys.

Background: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy(CCRT) significantly increases the survival rate of esophageal squa?mous cell carcinoma(ESCC) patients with malignant fistulae. Recent clinical evidence has shown the benefits of enteral nutrition for malnourished cancer patients. In this study, we aimed to validate that, with the support of enteral nutrition, ESCC patients who develop malignant fistulae might be able to complete CCRT and achieve long?term ***: We reviewed the medical records of 652 patients with ESCC who received definitive CCRT at Sun Yat?sen University Cancer Center between January 2010 and December 2012. Treatment outcome and toxicity were ret?rospectively evaluated in 40 ESCC patients with malignant fistulae. All the 40 patients were treated with CCRT and evaluated by clinical nutritionists using nutrition risk screening(NRS) before, during, and after treatment. Twenty?two patients received a nasogastric tube, and 18 underwent percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding. The median energy intake was 2166 kcal/day. Treatment response was evaluated at 3 months after the completion of ***: With a median follow?up of 18 months(range, 3–39 months), patients' 1?year overall survival(OS) rate was 62.5%, and the estimated OS time was 25.5 months. Univariate analysis showed that the NRS score(P n NRS score(P se to treatment(P < 0.001) were sig= 0.003), increase i= 0.024), fistula closure(P = 0.011), and responnifi?cantly associated with OS. Multivariate analysis showed that tumor response(P = 0.044) and increase in NRS score(P = 0.044) were independent predictors of OS. Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)benefit from an effective electrolyte system design in both terms of their safety and energy storage ***,a series of precursor membranes with high porosity were produced using electrospinning technology by mixing PVDF and triblock copolymer(PS-PEO-PS),resulting in a porous structure with good interconnections,which facilitates the absorbency of a large amount of electrolyte and further increases the ionic conductivity of gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs).It has been demonstrated that post-cross-linking of the precursor membranes increa ses the rigidity of the nanofibers,which allows the polymer film to be dimensionally sta ble up to 260℃while maintaining superior electrochemical *** obtained cross-linked GPEs(CGPEs)showed high ionic conductivity up to 4.53×10^(-3)S·cm^(-1).With the CGPE-25,the assembled Li/LiFeP04 half cells exhibited good rate capability and maintained a capacity of 99.4%and a coulombic efficiency of99.3%at 0.1 *** results suggest that the combination of electrospinning technique and post-cross-linking is an effective method to construct polymer electrolytes with high thermal stability and steadily decent electrochemical performance,particularly useful for Lithium-ion battery applications that require high-temperature usage.

Classifying network time series(NTS) is crucial for automating network administration and ensuring cyberspace security. It enables the detection of anomalies, the identification of network attacks,and the monitoring of performance issues, thereby providing valuable support for network protection and optimization. However, modern communication networks pose challenges for NTS classification *** include handling large-scale and complex NTS data, extracting features from intricate datasets, and addressing explainability requirements. These challenges are particularly pronounced for complex 5G networks. Notably, explainability has become crucial for the widespread deployment of network automation for 5G networks and beyond. To tackle these challenges, we propose a path-signature-based NTS classification model called recurrent signature(Recur Sig). This innovative model is designed to overcome the time-consuming feature selection problem by utilizing deep-learning(DL) techniques. Additionally, it provides a solution for addressing the black-box issue associated with DL models in network automation systems(NAS) by incorporating an explainable classification approach. Extensive experimentation on various public datasets demonstrates that Recur Sig outperforms existing models in accuracy and explainability. The results indicate its potential for application in cyberspace security and automated network management, offering an explainable solution for network protection and optimization.
