Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Evolution of Er^(3+) Distribution in the Oxyfluoride Glass Ceramics with Heating

The distribution characteristics of Er^3＋ ions doped in the oxyfluoride glass ceramics containing LaF3 nanocrystals heat-treated at 650 ℃ for different durations were investigated. The results of the integral absorption cross-section analysis demonstrated that the partition fraction of Er^3＋ in LaF3 nanocrystals increases with prolonging of heating time, The anomalous phenomena of Er^3＋ emissions in the up-and the down-conversion fluorescence spectra are well explained based on the calculated results.

This paper deals with the output feedback quadratic mean square （QMS） stabilization problem for singleinput-single-output discrete-time networked control systems. It assumes that the feedback controller interacts with the plant through a communication channel subject to both logarithmic quantization errors and multiplicative random noises. With the knowledge of the quantizer output signal, an observer-based output feedback controller is derived in terms of two algebraic Riccati equations, together with an inequality condition involving Mahler measure of the plant. It reveals that the set of systems that can be stabilized over a quantized fading channel is fundamentally limited by the uncertainties generated by the channel. A numerical example is included to illustrate the present results.

Benefiting from the development of molecular electronics and molecular plasmonics, the interplay of light and electronic transport in molecular junctions has attracted growing interest among researchers in both fields, leading to a new research direction of "single-molecule optoelectronics". Here, we review the latest developments of photo-modulated charge transport,electroluminescence and Raman spectroscopy from single-molecule junctions, and suggest future directions for single-molecule optoelectronics.

Anti-fertility effect of levonorgestrel and/or quinestrol on striped field mouse(Apodemus agrarius):evidence from both laboratory and field experiments

The effect of combined levonorgestrel(P)and quinestrol(E)on the fertility of stripedﬁeld mouse(Apodemus agrarius)has not been *** performed a series of experiments in both the laboratory andﬁeld to assess the effect of P and/or E on the fertility of *** the laboratory,to test the time-dependent anti-fertility ef-fects of P and E,as well as their mixtures,90 male stripedﬁeld mice were randomly assigned to 6 treatment groups(n=60),and a control group(n=30).Mice in 3 treatment groups were administered 1 of the 3 compounds(1 mg�kg–1[body weight]EP-1,0.34 mg�kg–1 E,0.66 mg�kg–1 P)for 3 successive days(another half for 7 suc-cessive days)via oral gavage;mice were then sacriﬁced 15 and 45 days after initiating the gavage ***ﬁndings indicated that E and EP-1 treatment,but not P or control treatment,signiﬁcantly decreased the sperm count in the caudal epididymis,as well as the weight of the testes,epididymides,and seminal ***,fer-tile female mice mated with E-and EP-1-treated males produced smaller *** data indicate that E and EP-1 can induce infertility in male *** theﬁeld,the population density of *** was signiﬁcantly inﬂu-enced by EP-1,and the rodent density in the treatment group was lower than that in the control ***,our results indicate that EP-1 is an effective contraceptive in ***,a dominant rodent species in the farmland.

Comparative transcriptome analysis of global effect of ddh and lysE deletion on 4-hydroxyisoleucine production in Corynebacterium glutamicum

4-hydroxyisoleucine(4-HIL)is a potential drug for diabetes and weight control.4-HIL was produced by expressing ido gene in L-isoleucine(Ile)-producing Corynebacterium *** L-lysine(Lys)was also accumulated as the main by-product in this recombinant strain *** attenuate Lys synthesis,two genes in Lys synthetic pathway,i.e.,ddh encoding the diaminopimelic acid dehydrogenase and lysE encoding the specific Lys exporter were deleted in ***,the deletion of ddh increased 4-HIL titer by 28.1%,but did not decrease Lys content;while the deletion of lysE significantly reduced Lys content by 66.7%,but 4-HIL titer also decreased by 19.3%.Therefore,we carried out transcriptome analysis to reveal the global variation in these *** of ddh and lysE(especially lysE)enhanced the transcription of key enzymes in succinylase branch of Lys synthesis pathway(DapD and DapC)and several enzymes involved in succinyl-CoA accessibility(SucC,SucD and OdhI),suggesting the compensatory synthesis of Lys via succinylase *** addition,the transcription of ilvBN in Ile synthesis pathway was improved,while the transcription of some genes in the 2-methylcitrate cycle and inositol metabolism pathway was weakened in these *** deletion of ddh enhanced the transcription of aceA,ppc and pck,thus promoting oxaloacetate supply and 4-HIL *** of lysE affected the transcription of some stress-related genes and transporter genes,suggesting that this mutant would be under stress,thus attenuating its 4-HIL *** findings will be helpful for systematic microbiology and bio-manufacturing of ***.

Application of FEM to Hot Continuous Rolling Process for Inconel 718 Alloy Round Rod

A finite element model for coupled thermo-meehanical analysis has been developed in hot continuous rolling process for Inconel 718 alloy round rod with diameter of 45 mm. The stability of this alloy is discussed by integration of FEM and processing map reported in literatures. The result shows that the stability of Inconel 718 alloy is analyzed effectively during that process and good stability appears as the initial temperature is 960 ℃ and the initial velocity is from 0. 15 to 0.45 m · s^-1 or the initial temperature is 980 ℃ and the initial velocity is from 0. 15 to 0. 25 m · s^-1.

Electron beam (EB) curing of composites has many advantages. Heat-resistant EB-curing composites could substitute polyimide composites used in aeronautical engines. In this paper, the effects of catalyst and dose on the cured resin were investigated. The heat-resistance of the resin cured by EB was evaluated by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The experimental results show that the mechanical properties of the composites cured by EB could meet the specifications of aeronautical engines at 250 degreesC.

Synthesis of Ruthenium Xanthate Complex and Its Electrocatalytic Activity for Tryptophan Oxidation

A new ruthenium complex containing bidentate xanthate ligands was synthesized in a good yield. This complex was characterized by elemental analysis, proton nuclear magnetic resonance（tH NMR）, Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） and UV-Vis spectroscopies. The cyclic voltammetry of the complex revealed one quasi-redox wave centered at Ru（III）/Ru（II） couple, indicating its catalytic potential. So the preparation of a glass carbon electrode modified with ruthenium xanthate complex and its electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of tryptophan（Trp） were also studied. The experimental results show that the modified electrode had excellent electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of tryptophan. Moreover, under the optimized conditions, the oxidation peak current was propor- tional to tryptophan concentration in a range of 2.5×10-7 to 5.0× 10-5 mol/L with a correlation coefficient of 0.9928 and a detection limit of 8.3 × 10-8 mol/L（S/N=3）. Using the proposed method, tryptophan was successfully determined in pharmaceutical samples with standard addition method.

Influence of heat treatments on incipient melting structures of DD5 nickel-based single crystal superalloy

The evolution of microstructure and formation mechanism of incipient melting microstructure of DD5 single crystal superalloy during solution heat treatment were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron probe microanalysis(EPMA),and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS).The solidus and liquidus of single crystal alloy were obtained by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).Results show that the mosaic-like eutectic and fan-like eutectic are dissolved at first,and the coarseγ'phase is dissolved later during the solution heat treatment of 1,390°C/2 h+1,310°C/4 h+1,320°C/10 h+air cooling(AC).The composition segregations of Al,Ta,W and Re are 0.99,0.96,1.04 and 1.16,respectively,which close to *** incipient melting is caused by the low local temperature of the alloy,and the micropore region with a lower melting point is the preferred position for incipient melting.
