Effect of Wheat Middlings, Microbial Phytase, and Citric Acid on Phytate-Phosphorus, Calcium, and Protein Utilization of Broilers

A corn-soybean meal diet （CSB）（or Diet 1） containing 23% crude protein （CP） was used as the positive control, and another corn-soybean meal diet containing 21% CP and 15% wheat middlings （WM）（or Diet 2） was used as the basal diet, which was treated with four different treatments. Digestibility experiment was employed to discuss the collective effect of citric acid, and intrinsic and microbial phytase. By comparing and analyzing effects of them in the low-nutrient broiler diets, the results showed five treatments had similar effects on Tibia ash （%）（mg）（P〉0.05）. Under the supplementation of bacterial phytase or citric acid, the daily body weight gain （ADG）, gain：feed （G：F） ratio, and calcium （Ca） utilization were similar to that of standard-nutrient CSB diet （Diet 1）（P 〉 0.05）. And, fecal phosphorus （P） and CP utilization were lower than （P〈0.05） that of Diet 1. But P utilization was significantly higher than （P〈0.01） that of Diet 1. However, the ADG, G：F, and CP utilization produced by supplementation of intrinsic phytase were lower than those of Diet 1, but other aspects were similar to those produced by Diet 1 （P〉0.05）. In Diet 5, citric acid, intrinsic and bacterial phytase were added to the diet, which produced a 1.4% decrease on fecal P, a 7.2% increase on Ca utilization, which was significantly higher than （P〈0.01） those of the other four Diets, a 3.9% increase on G：F, which was similar to that of Diet 1, and a 2.3% increase on CP utilization, which was higher than （P〈0.05） that of the other three diets. In summary, the results of this study indicated that citric acid, intrinsic and bacterial phytase might have some additive or synergistic effects, and low-nutrient CSB diets with 15% wheat middlings, 750 U kg^-1 phytase, and 3% citric acid might substitute completely for standard CSB in broilers.

Predictive Value of Dynamic Peri-Transplantation MRD Assessed By MFC Either Alone or in Combination with Other Variables for Outcomes of Patients with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

We performed a retrospective analysis to investigate dynamic peri-hematopoieticstem cell transplantation(HSCT)minimal/measurable residual disease(MRD)on outcomes inpatients with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(T-ALL).A total of 271 patients were enrolledand classified into three groups:unchanged ncgative MRD pre-and post-HSCT group(group A),post-MRD non-increase group(group B),and post-MRD increase group(group C).The patientsin group B and group C experienced a higher cumulative incidence of relapse(CIR)(42%vs.71%vs.16%,P<0.001)and lower leukemia-free survival(LFS)(46%vs.21%vs.70%,P<0.001)andoverall survival(OS)(50%vs.28%vs.72%,P<0.001)than in group A,but there was no significantdifference in non-relapse mortality(NRM)among three groups(14%vs.12%vs.8%,P=0.752).Multivariate analysis showed that dynamic peri-HSCT MRD was associated with CIR(HR=2.392,95%CI,1.816-3.151,P<0.001),LFS(HR=1.964,95%CI,1.546-2.496,P<0.001)and os(HR=1.731,95%CI,1.348-2.222,P<0.001).We also established a risk scoring system based ondynamic peri-HSCT MRD combined with remission status pre-HSCT and onsct of chronic graft-versus-host disease(GVHD).This risk scoring system could better distinguish ClR(c=0.730)thanthat for pre-HSCT MRD(c=0.562),post-HSCT MRD(c=0.616)and pre-and post-MRD dynamics(c=0.648).Our results confirm the outcome predictive value of dynamic peri-HSCT MRD eitheralone or in combination with other variables for patients with T-ALL.

Expression of CC Chemokine Ligand 5 in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Its Correlation with Disease Activity and Medication

Objective To determine the levels of CC chemokine ligand 5 (CCL5) in serum and synovial fluid (SF) from patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and their relations with disease activity and medication. Methods CCL5 in serum and SF was quantified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 28 RA patients and 21 osteoarthritis (OA) patients. In RA patients, the correlations of CCL5 levels in serum and SF with disease activity were analyzed. Meanwhile, the serum CCL5 levels among RA patients treated with disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), Tripterygium Glucosides, and other Chinese herbs without disease-modifying effects were also compared. Results CCL5 levels in both serum and SF of RA patients were significantly higher than those of OA patients (P<0.05). Moreover, the level of CCL5 was higher in SF than that in serum of RA patients (P<0.01). Serum CCL5 level was correlated significantly with the number of swollen joints (r=0.3329, P<0.05), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (r=0.4001, P<0.05), and C reactive protein (r=0.3735, P<0.01). In addition, the level of CCL5 had a trend of lower in patients treated with DMARDs or Tripterygium Glucosides than those treated with other Chinese herbs, although the difference was not significant among those patients due to the small number of patients in each group. Conclusions In RA patients, the expression of CCL5 increases and correlates with some clinical and laboratory parameters of RA, which indicate that CCL5 plays an important role in RA and may serve as a useful marker of disease activity. DMARDs and Tripterygium Glucosides might exert their clinical effects through reducing CCL5 production in RA.

Optimized Design of LED Daylight Lamp Lighting System

In order to meet the requirements of indoor illumination, a LED daylight lamp model was designed, it can replace traditional fluorescent lamp without insteading additional power supply establishment. The optical properties of the model were simulated using optical analysis software. Its luminous efficiency is about 30.4 lm/W, and the illuminance is about 38 lux when the distance is 1.5 m between the center of the model and measured spot. With the theoretically-optimized design of LED model, experiments based on the results of the optimal simulation in the laboratory were conducted to verify the performance of the proposed LED model, it reaches a power factor of about 0.8 at 6 W. The simulation results are very similar with the measured values. It is testified that simulative method is one of the effective tools for LED lighting optical design.

Thermal management is one of the key technologies for high-power Light emitting diode(LED)entering into the general illuminating *** thermal management depends on optimal packaging structure and selected packaging *** this paper,the aluminum is employed as a substrate of LED,3×3 array chips are placed on the substrate,heat dissipation performance is simulated using finite element analysis(FEA)software,analyzed are the influences on the temperature of the chip with different convection coefficient,and optical properties are simulated using optical analysis *** results show that the packaging structure can not only effectually improve the thermal performance of high-power LED array but also increase the light extraction efficiency.

Engraftment syndrome(ES)is one of the most common complications in the early phase after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(ASCT),and we aimed to evaluate the incidence and risk factors for ES patients receiving ASCT in the era of plerixafor-based mobilization.A total of 294 were enrolled,and 16.0%(n=47)experienced ES after *** main clinical manifestations were fever(100%),diarrhea(78.7%),skin rash(23.4%),and hypoxemia/pulmonary edema(12.8%).Plerixafor-based mobilization was associated with higher counts of CD3^(+)cells,CD4^(+)cells,and CD8^(+)cells in *** univariate analysis of the total cohort,age≥60 years,receiving ASCT at complete remission(CR),higher number of mononuclear cell(MNC),CD3^(+)cell counts,CD4^(+)cells as well as CD8^(+)cells transfused and plerixafor-based mobilization were associated with ES after *** analysis showed that age≥60 years(P=0.0014),receiving ASCT at CR(P=0.002),and higher number of MNC transfused(P=0.026)were associated with ES in total *** plasma cell disease subgroup,age≥60 years(P=0.013),plerixafor-based mobilization(P=0.036),and receiving ASCT at CR(P=0.002)were associated with *** with more risk factors had a higher risk of *** 1-year probabilities of relapse,non-relapse mortality,and survival were comparable between patients with and without ***,plerixafor-based mobilization may influence the composition of T lymphocytes in grafts and increase the risk of ES,particularly in patients with plasma cell disease.

We aimed to develop a disease risk comorbidity index(DRCI)based on disease risk index(DRI)and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation-Specific Comorbidity Index(HCT-CI)in patients receiving haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(haplo-HSCT).We identified the prognostic factors of disease-free survival(DFS)in a training subset(n=593),then assigned a weighted score using these factors to the remaining patients(validation subset;n=296).The multivariable model identified two independent predictors of DFS:DRI and HCT-CI before *** this scoring system,we assigned a weighted score of 2 to very high-risk DRI,and assigned a weighted score of 1 to high-risk DRI and intermediate-and high-risk HCT-CI(i.e.,haplo-DRCI).In the validation cohort,the three-year DFS rate was 65.2%(95%confidence interval(CI),58.2%–72.2%),55.8%(95%CI,44.9%–66.7%),and 32.0%(95%CI,5.8%–58.2%)for the low-,intermediate-,and high-risk group,respectively(P=0.005).Haplo-DRCI can also predict DFS in disease-specific subgroups,particularly in acute leukemia *** score was also significantly predictive of increased relapse,increased non-relapse mortality(NRM),decreased DFS,and decreased overall survival(OS)in an independent historical cohort(n=526).These data confirmed that haplo-DRCI could effectively risk stratify haplo-HSCT recipients and provide a tool to better predict who will best benefit from haplo-HSCT.
