Titanium silicalite- 1 （TS- 1） treated with triethy- lamine （TEA） solution under different conditions was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction （XRD）, Fourier- transform infrared spectrum （FTIR）, ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectrum （UV-Vis）, nitrogen physical adsorption and desorption, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The characterization results show that many irregular hollows are generated in the TS-1 crystals due to the random dissolution of framework silicon and the volume of the hollow cavities increase with increasing the TEA con- centration, and the treatment temperature and time. The modified TS-1 samples improved in varying degrees the catalyst life for the epoxidation of propylene in a fixed-bed reactor probably due to the generation of the hollows to make it easy for the reactants and products to diffuse out of the channels.

At 13:46 on March 11,2011(Beijing time),a great earthquake of magnitude of 9.0 occurred off the Pacific coast of northeastern Japan(Tohoku Region).After the earthquake,the Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth(CEODE),Chinese Academy of Sciences,quickly launched a major disaster emergency response to assess the *** this paper,we have extracted buildings and farms in the heavily devastated area that includes Iwate,Miyagi,and Fukushima Prefectures,based on multi-spectral remote sensing *** have assessed building damage by overlaying seismic intensity and building *** addition,we have assessed the extent of building and farm damage caused by the tsunami through the establishment of a tsunami impact assessment model that is based on terrain and distance from the *** results were partially verified by high-resolution images obtained after the *** results show that about 76% of buildings in Miyagi Prefecture were affected by seismic intensity 6 and above,with 24% of the buildings and 12% of the farms destroyed by the *** huge losses were echoes at lesser amounts in Fukushima and *** results provide the support of basic data,which can be further developed by economic and social aspects of the disaster assessment.

Adiabatic shear band （ASB） was narrow region where softening occurred and concentrated plastic defor- mation took place. In present study, the effects of height reduction and deformation temperature on ASB were investigated by means of optical microscopy （OM） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. And the deformation mechanisms within the shear band were discussed thor- oughly with the help of transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. There is a critical strain for the formation of ASB during warm compression of Ti-6AI-4V alloy. The width of ASB increases with height reduction increasing. Elon- gated alpha grains within shear band grow up with defor- mation temperature increasing. Some ultrafine grains that confirm the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization are observed within shear band during warm compression of Ti-6AI-4V alloy.

Contact electrification(CE)is a pretty common phenomenon,but still is poorly *** long-standing controversy over the mechanisms of CE related to polymers is particularly intense due to their *** this paper,the CE between metals and polymers is systematically studied,which shows the evolution of surfaces is accompanied by variations of CE *** variations of CE charge quantity are closely related to the creep and deformation of the polymer and metal *** the relationship between CE and polymer structures is put forward,which is essentially determined by the electronegativity of elements and the functional groups in the *** effects of load and contact frequency on the CE process and outputs are also investigated,indicating the increase of CE charge quantity with load and *** transfer from polymer to metal is observed during CE while electrons transfer from metal to polymer,both of which are believed to have an influence on each *** findings advance our understanding of the mechanism of CE between metal and polymers,and provides insights into the performance of CE-based application in various conditions,which sheds light on the design and optimization of CE-based energy harvest and self-powered sensing devices.

Background： Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy （FSHD）, a common autosomal dominant muscular disorder, is caused by contraction of the D4Z4 repeats on 4q35. The complicated genotype-phenotype correlation among different ethnic population remains a controversial subject. We aimed to refine this correlation in order to provide new information for genetic counseling. Methods： Here, a cohort of[36 Chinese families including 178 affected individuals and 137 unaffected members were investigated. Genetic analyses were pertbrmed using the pl 3E-11, 4qA and 4qB probes after pulsed field gel electrophoresis separation and southern blotting. A I 0-grade FSHD clinical severity scale was adopted for clinical assessment. The genotype-phenotype correlation was established by linear regression analyses. Results： We observed a roughly inversed correlation between the short EcoRl fragment size and age-corrected clinical severity score in 154 symptomatic patients （P 〈 0.05）. Compared to male patients, a significant higher proportion of females in both asymptomatic carriers and severe patients showed larger variation in the size of short EcoRI fragment. A high incidence （ 19/42, 45.2%） ofasymptomatic （or minimally affected） carriers was found in familial members. Conclusions： Although the number of D4Z4 repeats is known as one of the critical influences on genotype-phenotype correlation, a rnajority ofphenotypic spectrum was still incompatible with their heterozygous contraction of the D4Z4 repeat, especial in female cases. Our resuhs suggest that there are multi-factors synergistically modulating the phenotypic expression.

Developing organic room-temperature phosphorescence(RTP)materials with a wide range of tunable-emission is significant in expanding the applications of RTP ***,we rationally designed amphiphilic alternating copolymers poly(1,2-bis(4-alkoxyphenyl)ethane-1,2-dione-alt-(ethylene glycol)x)(P(Bz-alt-EGx))that combined the advantage of alternating benzil and EGxskeleton,and tunable mainchain *** a mainchain conformation ordering assembly(COA)process,P(Bz-alt-EGx)self-assembled into well-defined platelets,and such assemblies emitted blue RTP at ca.425 nm due to the ordered folded-chain conformation and confined *** contrast,traditional self-assembly(TA)of P(Bz-alt-EGx)obtained less ordered aggregates,such as asymmetric worms,vesicles,and rod-like *** resultant less ordered aggregates exhibited yellow-green RTP at ca.550 *** wide-tuning RTP emission in solution(between blue and yellow-green,over125 nm)is realized using the P(Bz-alt-EG_(x))alternating copolymers under the treatment of different self-assembly *** study uncovers a new strategy to tailor the RTP emission through different self-assembly pathways and holds great promise for the fabrication of advanced optical materials.
