Automatic Aggregation Enhanced Affinity Propagation Clustering Based on Mutually Exclusive Exemplar Processing

Affinity propagation(AP)is a widely used exemplar-based clustering approach with superior efficiency and clustering quality.Nevertheless,a common issue with AP clustering is the presence of excessive exemplars,which limits its ability to perform effective aggregation.This research aims to enable AP to automatically aggregate to produce fewer and more compact clusters,without changing the similarity matrix or customizing preference parameters,as done in existing enhanced approaches.An automatic aggregation enhanced affinity propagation(AAEAP)clustering algorithm is proposed,which combines a dependable partitioning clustering approach with AP to achieve this purpose.The partitioning clustering approach generates an additional set of findings with an equivalent number of clusters whenever the clustering stabilizes and the exemplars emerge.Based on these findings,mutually exclusive exemplar detection was conducted on the current AP exemplars,and a pair of unsuitable exemplars for coexistence is recommended.The recommendation is then mapped as a novel constraint,designated mutual exclusion and aggregation.To address this limitation,a modified AP clustering model is derived and the clustering is restarted,which can result in exemplar number reduction,exemplar selection adjustment,and other data point redistribution.The clustering is ultimately completed and a smaller number of clusters are obtained by repeatedly performing automatic detection and clustering until no mutually exclusive exemplars are detected.Some standard classification data sets are adopted for experiments on AAEAP and other clustering algorithms for comparison,and many internal and external clustering evaluation indexes are used to measure the clustering performance.The findings demonstrate that the AAEAP clustering algorithm demonstrates a substantial automatic aggregation impact while maintaining good clustering quality.

CONSPECTUS:Chirality defines the structural and electronic properties of a single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT),and therefore,synthesizing SWCNT samples with single chirality is essential for future high-end applications,such as replacing silicon in next-generation electronics.Since its discovery in 1991,to realize the selective growth of SWCNTs with a unique structure has been a key focus of SWCNT research.Chirality is currently understood to be assigned at birth and might be changed during the growth process.Understanding the mechanism of chirality assignment during nucleation and chirality-dependent growth kinetics is essential for realizing the final goal of SWCNT synthesis,i.e.,the large-scale synthesis of SWCNTs with a specific chiral index.From 2003,we have systematically explored chirality assignment during SWCNT nucleation,how the chirality of a SWCNT affects its growth,and how the chirality changes during growth.Together with our experimental collaborators,we have realized the chirality-specific growth of SWCNTs via a few designed experimental routes.In this account,we will review all these studies and present our perspectives on this very important research topic.We will first introduce the screw dislocation theory of SWCNT growth to elucidate how the chirality affects the growth rate of a SWCNT and the abundance of each SWCNT in the final product.Second,a modified screw dislocation theory,which describes the SWCNT’s growth kinetics on a solid catalyst and its impact on chirality control during synthesis is presented.Third,the random chiral angle assignment during SWCNT nucleation on liquid catalysts is discussed as well as why chirality control in SWCNT growth is so challenging.Together with previous experimental reports,we further demonstrate that solid catalysts have a great advantage in realizing chirality-selective SWCNT growth.Based on our current understanding,we propose three strategies to realize chirality-selective SWCNT growth,(i)controlling the symmetry of solid catalyst particles,(ii)varyi

As a common medium in our daily life,images are important for most people to gather information.There are also people who edit or even tamper images to deliberately deliver false information under different purposes.Thus,in digital forensics,it is necessary to understand the manipulating history of images.That requires to verify all possible manipulations applied to images.Among all the image editing manipulations,recoloring is widely used to adjust or repaint the colors in images.The color information is an important visual information that image can deliver.Thus,it is necessary to guarantee the correctness of color in digital forensics.On the other hand,many image retouching or editing applications or software are equipped with recoloring function.This enables ordinary people without expertise of image processing to apply recoloring for images.Hence,in order to secure the color information of images,in this paper,a recoloring detection method is proposed.The method is based on convolutional neural network which is quite popular in recent years.Unlike the traditional linear classifier,the proposed method can be employed for binary classification as well as multiple labels classification.The classification performance of different structure for the proposed architecture is also investigated in this paper.

Joint sparse recovery(JSR)in compressed sensing(CS)is to simultaneously recover multiple jointly sparse vectors from their incomplete measurements that are conducted based on a common sensing matrix.In this study,the focus is placed on the rank defective case where the number of measurements is limited or the signals are significantly correlated with each other.First,an iterative atom refinement process is adopted to estimate part of the atoms of the support set.Subsequently,the above atoms along with the measurements are used to estimate the remaining atoms.The estimation criteria for atoms are based on the principle of minimum subspace distance.Extensive numerical experiments were performed in noiseless and noisy scenarios,and results reveal that iterative subspace matching pursuit(ISMP)outperforms other existing algorithms for JSR.

The shapes of as‐grown/as‐etched two‐dimensional(2D)islands are the most recognizable features of the chemical vapor deposition(CVD)process which reveal a lot of information about the chemical environment of growth/etching,the effect of the substrate and the growth/etching kinetics.Here,we summarize experimentally observed shapes of CVD‐grown 2D materials from previous reports,theoretical understanding on the corresponding mechanisms and the simulations of the corresponding growth/etching processes.Each part of the review article is organized by combining the fundamental principles that govern the shapes of crystals during growth/etching and the related experimental observations to facilitate the readers to read and understand the content.The content of the review includes attachment‐limited 2D materials growth,diffusion‐limited 2D materials growth(both with and without influence of the substrate),etching and merging of 2D materials with and without considering the effect of the substrate.We also discuss growth and etching of multilayered 2D islands during CVD—a topic still under development.We wish this review will also guide the audience to understand the kinetics of 2D materials growth and to improve controllable synthesis of various 2D materials.

Geminal dinitropropyl ester plasticizers(DNPEPs) possess excellent energetic performances which provide good potentials as insensitive plasticizer. In this study, we design and synthesize DNPEPs with different alkane chain parts, and systematically investigate their structure-property relationships.Results show that DNPEPs have impact sensitivities all higher than 25.2 J, thermal decomposition temperatures all higher than 254 ℃, and glass transition temperatures(T_(g)) lower than-90 ℃.Furthermore, the effects of DNPEPs as plasticizer are studied on hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTPB) in detail, including the viscosity, glass transition temperatures and others. It is noteworthy that 2,2-dinitropropyl nonanoate(DNPNc) among these DNPEPs exhibits the most expected simultaneous tuning effects on both viscosity and T_(g) of HTPB systems, providing favorable potentials to replace the conventional plastizers as dioctyl sebacate(DOS) in the HTPB based propellants and explosives.

A quick and accurate extraction of dominant colors of background images is the basis of adaptive camouflage design.This paper proposes a Color Image Quick Fuzzy C-Means(CIQFCM)clustering algorithm based on clustering spatial mapping.First,the clustering sample space was mapped from the image pixels to the quantized color space,and several methods were adopted to compress the amount of clustering samples.Then,an improved pedigree clustering algorithm was applied to obtain the initial class centers.Finally,CIQFCM clustering algorithm was used for quick extraction of dominant colors of background image.After theoretical analysis of the effect and efficiency of the CIQFCM algorithm,several experiments were carried out to discuss the selection of proper quantization intervals and to verify the effect and efficiency of the CIQFCM algorithm.The results indicated that the value of quantization intervals should be set to 4,and the proposed algorithm could improve the clustering efficiency while maintaining the clustering effect.In addition,as the image size increased from 128×128 to 1024×1024,the efficiency improvement of CIQFCM algorithm was increased from 6.44 times to 36.42 times,which demonstrated the significant advantage of CIQFCM algorithm in dominant colors extraction of large-size images.
