Contamination of the aquatic environment by Metallic Trace Elements (MTE) is a major problem encountered in our environment today. In Côte d’Ivoire, in some municipals, residential and industrial areas in the city of Abidjan, waste water of worrying quantity is discharged into the rainwater drainage channels which flow directly into the Ebrié lagoon. In order to identify the origin of the pollution by metallic trace elements (MTE) transported by this water, samples of wastewater were collected and then analyzed. ICP-MS was used for MTE (Cu, Fe, Zn, Al, Pb, Cd) analyses and results were statistically processed in multivariate form using PCA and Excel. The results showed high concentrations of metals, with the exception of Cd. The typological structure represents 85.74% of the total information for the MTE. Plan F1 represents 63.90% of the variance and describes water pollution by copper (0.95), zinc (0.90), iron (0.84) and aluminum (0.84). Plan F2 represents 21.84% and describes the enrichment of water with lead (0.84). It seems more than necessary to make manufacturers aware of the need to install wastewater treatment systems in order to avoid their discharge into the environment.

Integrating information on the glycemic index (GI) and the glycemic load (GL) of diet is limited in C?te d’Ivoire because of the lack of data. Thus, this study was undertaking for the local management and prevention of diabetes mellitus and its complications based on nutritional data (GI and GL values). The study included ten healthy subjects with 7 males, 3 females (28 ± 2 years on average age and 20.5 ± 1.7 on average BMI). Participants tested three different meals with equal carbohydrate load (50 g). Blood samples were obtained at 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 min before and after consumption for glucose levels determination. GIs were determined using a standard method with glucose as reference food and data were used for GLs calculating. Data showed that GIs value of pounded yam with eggplant sauce and cassava paste with granulates palm nut sauce were high ranging to 94 to 86 respectively while rice with groundnut sauce, have a low GI (GI = 45). Nevertheless, the GLs of the all the test foods are high with the values of 47, 43 and 23 (g) for pounded yam with eggplant sauce, cassava paste with granulates palm nut sauce and rice with groundnut sauce respectively. According to GIs and GLs data, the three test foods must be consumed moderately in a diet. So, it is important to associate GL data to GI data of Ivorian traditional foods for the management and the prevention of diabetes mellitus in C?te d’Ivoire and in others countries sharing the same food tradition.

Hydrological Characterization of Water Resources Used for Sugarcane Production in the Sugar Complexes of Ferkessedougou (North of Côte d’Ivoire)

Water resources, although renewable, are limited and threatened by climate change and anthropic activities. Assessment and forecasting of these resources can provide valuable information for water resource planners. This study aims to quantify the surface water resources used for sugarcane production in sugar complexes of Ferkessedougou. This is based on the morphological characterization of the river Morrison and Lopkoho dams and on extreme daily flow probability of occurrence estimation using frequency analysis method. The bathymetric survey showed that the Morrison Dam impoundment had a maximum depth of 11.98 m;a water capacity of 11,656,735.5 m3. For the Lokpoho dam, the reservoir had a maximum depth of 8.82 m, which corresponds to a water volume of 4,354,531.5 m3. Nevertheless, the water capacity of these reservoirs is greatly reduced by a large volume of sediment estimated at 1,013,058.96 m3 for Morrison and 599,740 m3 for Lokpoho. Statistical analysis of maximum daily flows shows that flows between 73.9 and 100 m3/s have the potential to occur every five years at the Route Korhogo Badikaha hydrometric station. The recurrence of the decennial (298 m3) and quinquenal (248 m3) flows shows the importance of the flood flows of the Bandama River. It also shows that the low water levels of the Bandama are very pronounced. The minimum flow that SUCAF-CI water managers should expect every five years is 1.36 m3/s and the ten-year low flow is 2.10 m3/s. These results are indicators of water scarcity risks and could guide decision making in the Ferkessedougou sugar complexes.

Evolution of Proteinuria and Renal Function in Women with Pre-Eclampsia at the Gynecology Department of the Teaching Hospital of Cocody

Background: Pre-eclampsia has long been considered as a disease that disappears after the removal of the placenta. It has now been shown that its symptoms can persist for months after giving birth. Objectives: To study the evolution of proteinuria and renal function in women with pre-eclampsia. Patients and Methods: An analytical prospective study was carried out in the Hospitalization Unit of the Gynecology Department of the Teaching Hospital of Cocody (Abidjan) from May 3, 2021 to November 15, 2021. It focused on the follow-up of proteinuria and renal function in 50 women who had pre-eclampsia during their pregnancy, in the three months following their delivery. Results: The average age of the patients was 30.38 ± 6 years (range 18 and 40 years). Thirty-two percent were nulliparous and 62% had no risk factors for pre-eclampsia. The diagnosis of pre-eclampsia was made in 52% of cases before 37 weeks of amenorrhea. Sixty-two percent had Grade 3 arte-rial hypertension. The average proteinuria/creatininuria ratio was 3592.08 ± 7009.57 mg/g and 32% of women had glomerular grade proteinuria. The mean serum creatinine was 13.61 ± 12.62 mg/l. AKI (Acute Renal Failure) was present in 30% of women. All patients had received a central antihypertensive drug of which 88% were a calcium channel blocker. For the delivery mode, a Caesarean section was performed in 88% of cases. In the three months postpartum, 40% of women had persistent hypertension, 58% had persistent proteinuria and 6% had persistent impaired renal function. Prematurity (p = 0.0091), IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction) (p = 0.0012) and IUFD (intrauterine fetal death) (p = 0.0012) were associated with the persistence of proteinuria at M3 postpartum. Conclusion: Symptoms of pre-eclampsia do not automatically disappear after the delivery. Proteinuria and renal failure can persist beyond three months after the delivery and require treatment by a nephrologist.

线性思维和声强调“横向”进行的逻辑思维,对线性和声的分析应建立在对位及声部连接技法的基础之上。线性思维和声可控制和声声部整体运动的方向,使声部连接中的线性进行成为音乐进行动力的源泉。尽管线性思维和声的优势在于“非功能化”和声的运用方面,但在古典、浪漫时期的音乐作品中,以功能和声为主体的多声部关系始终都伴随着线性思维的实践,真正有质量的好作品都具备“功能性与线性”的双重运用逻辑。以申克式图表的分析方法来说明线性思维和声的组织结构原理,不仅存在于传统和声以三度叠置和弦为主的组织形态中,在非三度叠置和弦中也同样可以获得富于逻辑的分析结果。以往以“碎片化”方式零星出现在各种学术刊物上的术语“线性和声”,由于缺乏必要的分析方法和诠释工具,采用纯文字的解说很难达到真正的理解目的。申克式的图表分析在这里作为主要的线性认知工具,可以起到从细节到宏观认识作品的作用,同时还可作为一种训练音乐语言结构的“透视”眼光,通过它来感受音乐作品从局部到整体迅速转换的视角,以此在主题动机、调性布局、声部线性运动、整体音乐结构等诸多方面获得透悟。

Many lifestyle factors can affect health, but nutrition is an important, modifiable, and powerful factor in promoting health, preventing and treating disease, and improving quality of life. Inadequate dietary intake, regardless of the cause, can have negative effects on human growth and development. Analysis of tuna “Garba” and rice with eggplant sauce consumed in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) revealed low levels of water-soluble B vitamins. Also, the analysis of these dishes observed the presence of histidine, leucine, valine, glutamine, arginine, cysteine and alanine. The tuna “Garba” (Gab) dish showed levels in amino acids ranging from 69.8 ± 1.33 to 764 ± 2.08 mg/kg and 77.1 ± 1.95 to 754.67 ± 2.8 mg/kg in the eggplant sauce rice (Risa) dish. During 15 days of consumption of these dishes by the wistar rats, anthropometric parameters, namely body length and abdominal circumference, showed a significant increase in the rats consuming the rice eggplant sauce. The rats showed BMI, Lee’s Index and Adipocyte Index ranged from 0.27 ± 0.01 to 0.31 ± 0.01 g/cm2;0.25 ± 0.01 to 0.26 ± 0.00 cm and 1.67% ± 0.25% to 1.96% ± 0.21% respectively. The nutritional profiling of these two street foods by LIM and SAIN score presented poor profiles.

Characterization of Two Clay Raw Materials from Côte d’Ivoire with a View to Enhancing Them in Eco-Construction

This study was carried out with a view to appreciate the value of clay, raw materials in eco-construction. To achieve this, we sampled two clay raw materials denoted Aga and Bak and then characterized. The results obtained from geotechnical and mineralogical tests have shown that the clay samples Aga and Bak are fine soils moderately plastic class A soils consisting essentially of quartz with 73.13% and 74.56% respectively for Aga and Bak and clay minerals (kaolinite and illite) with 12.73% kaolinite and 8.55% illite for Aga against 8.31% kaolinite and 13.72% for Bak. Moreover, these samples do not contain swelling clays and contain a sufficient quantity of iron oxides which allows them to be valued in ceramics, in particular in compressed earth bricks (CEB).

In addition to bioenergy production, Acacia magium, a fast growing species, plays a major role in climate change mitigation through carbon sequestration from the atmosphere. The objective of this study was to improve estimates of aboveground biomass of 3, 7 and 11 years old stands of Acacia mangium set up through natural regeneration at Anguédédou in C?te d’Ivoire. Tree measurements were done in circular plots of 615 m2 located at the center of each stand. 24 trees of circumference at breast height (cbh) between 31 and 116 cm were felled, weighed and measured. Multiple linear regressions were used to develop allometric equations linking aboveground biomass of trees to cbh and/or height. The carbon stock and sequestration capacity of each stand was assessed using these predictive models. The average cbh was 39.4 cm, 73.5 cm and 91.4 cm respectively for 3, 7 and 11 years old stands with a density ranging between 845 trees·ha-1 and 553 trees·ha-1. The allometric equations for biomass estimation were Btotal aboveground = exp(-3.455 + 2.081 × ln(C)), Btrunk = exp (-5.153 + 1.681 × ln(C) + 1.056 × ln(H)), Bbranches = exp(-2.005 + 0.498 × ln(C2 × H)), Bleaves = exp(-2.415 + 1.339 × ln(C)). Total height had no influence on total and leaf biomass but increased precision of trunk and branch biomass. The carbon sequestration capacity of aboveground biomass was highest in Acacia mangium stand of 7 years old with 45.14 teqCO2·ha-1·year-1 and lowest in the 3-year stand with 33.90 teqCO2·ha-1·year-1.

目的分析恙虫病的临床特征及误诊原因,减少误诊误治。方法对我院2010年8月—2015年12月早期误诊的98例恙虫病的临床资料进行回顾性分析。结果本组病初均误诊,多以发热、咳嗽、上腹部不适、淋巴结增大及皮肤破溃形成焦痂或溃疡就诊,首诊多就诊于感染科、呼吸科、急诊内科,误诊疾病居前3位的分别为肺炎、急性肝炎、上呼吸道感染。查丙氨酸转氨酶升高67例,天冬氨酸转氨酶升高63例,C反应蛋白升高76例;尿隐血阳性23例,尿蛋白阳性25例。在外院就诊过程中多使用青霉素类、头孢菌素类抗生素,入我院后结合临床表现及外斐试验明确诊断为恙虫病,均予阿奇霉素静脉滴注,其中96例(97.96%)治愈,2例死亡(2.04%)。结论恙虫病早期误诊率高,加强医务人员专业培训,在流行季节对发热患者进行仔细查体,合理使用抗生素是减少误诊误治的关键。
