Background:Extrahepatic body fat could be a relevant factor affecting liver regeneration after partial *** aim of this study was to evaluate the potential role of body fatty tissue in liver regeneration capacity after liver resection in a cohort of living ***:We observed liver regeneration in 120 patients:70 living donors who underwent right hepatectomy and 50 recipients who got a right graft *** volumetry and body fat analysis were performed based on the computed tomography images with volumetry *** gain of liver volume was calculated between three points in time considering the absolute and percentage values:before surgery and early(median 10 days,range 4-21 days)and late(median 27 weeks,range 18-40 weeks)after ***’s correlation was used to examine the potential correlation between adipose tissue and liver ***:Pearson’s correlation showed a significant correlation between the subcutaneous fat mass index(sFMI)and early(r=0.173,P=0.030),as well late(r=0.395,P=0.0004)percental liver volume gain in the whole *** stratification in donor’s and recipient’s collectives,the effect of extrahepatic adipose tissue appears in multiple regression only in the donor’s collective:early(β=0.219,T=2.137,P=0.036)and late(β=0.390,T=2.552,P=0.015)percental volume ***:Subcutaneous adipose tissue is a positive predictive factor to estimate the goodness of liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy in normosthenic donors.

The isothermal oxidizing kinetics of Co-40Cr alloy and its yttrium ion-implanted samples are studied at 1 000 ℃ in air by thermal-gravity analysis （TGA）. Scanning electronic microscopy （SEM） is used to examine the Cr2O3 oxide film＇s morphology after oxidation. Acoustic emission （AE） method is used in situ for monitoring the cracking and spalling of oxide films formed on both samples during oxidizing and subsequent air-cooling stages. Theoretical model is proposed relating to the film fracture process and is used for analyzing the acoustic emission spectrum both on time domain and on AE-event number domain. It is found that yttrium implantation remarkably reduces the isothermal oxidizing rate of Co-40Cr and improves the anti-cracking and anti-spalling properties of Cr2O3 oxide film. The reasons for the improvement are mainly that the implanted yttrium reduced the grain size of Cr2O3 oxide, increased the high temperature plasticity of oxide film, and remarkably reduced the number and size of Cr2O3/Co-40Cr inteffacial defects.

In minimally invasive surgery, one of the main objectives is to ensure safety and target reaching accuracy during needle steering inside the target organ. In this research work, the needle steering approach is determined using a robust control algorithm namely the integral sliding mode control(ISMC) strategy to eliminate the chattering problem associated with the general clinical scenario. In general, the discontinuity component of feedback control input is not appropriate for the needle steering methodology due to the practical limitations of the driving actuators. Thus in ISMC, we have incorporated the replacement of the discontinuous component using a super twisting control(STC)input due to its unique features of chattering elimination and disturbance observation characteristics. In our study, the kinematic model of an asymmetric flexible bevel-tip needle in a soft-tissue phantom is used to evaluate stability analysis. A comparative study based on the analysis of chattering elimination is executed to determine the performance of the proposed control strategy in real-time needle steering with conventional sliding mode control using vision feedback through simulation and experimental results. This validates the efficacy of the proposed control strategy for clinical needle steering.

The problem of traffic congestion is a significant phenomenon that has had a substantial impact on the transportation system within the country. This phenomenon has given rise to numerous intricacies, particularly in instances where emergency situations occur at traffic light intersections that are consistently congested with a high volume of vehicles. This implementation of a traffic light controller system is designed with the intention of addressing this problem. The purpose of the system was to facilitate the operation of a 3-way traffic control light and provide priority to emergency vehicles using a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensor and Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) Architecture Based Microcontroller. This research work involved designing a system to mitigate the occurrence of accidents commonly observed at traffic light intersections, where vehicles often need to maneuver in order to make way for emergency vehicles following a designated route. The research effectively achieved the analysis, simulation and implementation of wireless communication devices for traffic light control. The implemented prototype utilizes RFID transmission, operates in conjunction with the sequential mode of traffic lights to alter the traffic light sequence accordingly and reverts the traffic lights back to their normal sequence after the emergency vehicle has passed the traffic lights.

Background:Individuals at risk of suffering cardiovascular disease(CVD) present with larger increases in blood trigyceride(TG) concentration after a high-fat meal than do healthy *** postprandial hypertriglyceride levels are an independent risk factor for *** of statins and a bout of prolonged exercise are both effective in lowering postprandial hypertriglyceride *** aimed to evaluate the comparative effectiveness of statins vs.a bout of aerobic exercise in reducing fasting and postprandial TG(PPTG) concentrations in indiv、duals at high nsk of developing ***:Thirty-seven sltudies from a systematic literature search of the PubMed,EMBASE,and Cochrane databases were included in this *** selected studies conducted trials involving statin therapy(n=20) or a bout of aerobic exercise(n=19) and measured their impact on PPTG levels as the *** studies analyzed both treatments and were included in *** meta-analysis was constructed using a random-effects model to calculate the mean difference(MD).The Student t test was used to compare the data sets for statins ***:Overall,statin and exercise interventions showed similar reductions in PPTG levels,with an MD of-0.65 mmol/L for statins(95% confidence interval(95%CI):-0.54 to-0.77;p <0.001) and-0.46 mmol/L for exercise(95%CI:-0.21 to-0.71;p <0.01).However,statins lowered fasting TG levels more than exercise(MD=-1.54 mmol/L,95%CI:-2.25 to-0.83;p=0.009).Conclusion:Although aerobic exercise is effective in lowering blood TG levels,statins seem to be more efficient,especially in the fasted state.A combination of exercise and statins might reveal a valuable approach to the treatment and prevention of *** studies are required to determine the underlying mechanisms and the possible additive effects of these interventions.
