Agriculture is o.e o. the liveliho.d suppo.ts fo. the peo.le o. Upper East Regio. o. Ghana. So.l evaluatio. research was co.ducted at To.o.Irrigatio. Scheme to.assess so.l and land suitability fo. rice cultivatio. in the irrigable area o. To.o.Irrigatio. Scheme. A total of eleven (11) soil samples were collected and analysed for their chemical and physical properties. Based on field observation and criteria for soil suitability assessment, the different soil types that were identified were classified at the series level based on their position, parent material and the observed physical characteristics. The results indicated that theo.t-family:""> pH o. the so.ls was within the acceptable range fo. cro. pro.uctio.;ho.ever, the o.erall fertility level o. the so.ls was very lo.. Physically, the upland so.ls were well to.mo.erately well-drained, co.sisting o. co.rse-grained sandy lo.ms to.so.l o.erlying similar sandy lo.ms and sandy clay lo.ms at depth. They included Lepto.o.s and Lixiso.s. The so.ls o. the Scheme under lo.lands and valley bo.to. sites, ho.ever, included Eutric Gleyso., Calsic Vertiso., Eutric Fluviso. and Eutric Plintho.o., which were heavily textured and relatively po.r drained, o. medium-textured and mo.erately to.imperfectly well-drained. They sho.ed a lo. to.a very lo. rate o. water perco.atio. lo.ses, which is go.d fo. the current farming system o. cro.ping rice within the lo.lands and valley bo.to. sites o. the Scheme.

Backgro.nd: The idea o. establishing a Dental scho.l at the Kwame Nkrumah University o. Science and Techno.o.y (KNUST) was bo.ne o.t o. a need. There was a sho.tfall in the supply o. dental surgeo.s, especially in the no.thern half o. the co.ntry. Aim/o.jective: To.seek fo. feedback fro. KNUST Dental scho.l graduates o.er the past six abo.t their o.erall assessment o. the BDS co.rses taught during their clinical training and challenges faced in the co.rse o. their training. Metho.o.o.y: A cro.s-sectio.al retro.pective study o. all KNUST Dental scho.l graduates fro. 2012 to.2017. A structured go.gle fo.m questio.naire was develo.ed. The Go.gle fo.m link was emailed to.the representatives who.in turn fo.warded the link to.their year mates. The questio.naire was filled o.line and submitted as requested. Results: This represented 63.0% o. the entire graduates fro. KNUST Dental Scho.l. The male to.female ratio.was 1.3:1.0. The age range o. o.r graduate was fro. 24 yrs (3.8%) to.32 years (1.9%). The average age was 26.3 years. 48.10% o. respo.dents said their training was very go.d. The majo. challenges were inadequate clinical space (25.2%) and lack o. materials and dental chairs fo. students’ clinic (27.3%). Co.clusio.: o. the who.e, the quality o. the training was rated as very go.d even tho.gh so.e o. the co.rses taught during the clinical training were rated as po.r. Inadequate dental chairs, labo.ato.y and clinic materials, supervisio. o. student’s clinic were so.e o. the majo. challenges expressed by the graduates.
