microstructure and Corrosive Property of Ni-P/nano-CeO_2 Coating Electrolessly Prepared in Acidic Condition

Electroless Ni-P/nano-CeO2 composite coating was prepared in acidic condition, and its microstructure and corrosive property were compared with its CeO2-free counterpart. Scanning electronic microscopy （SEm）, transmission electronic microscopy （TEm） and differential scanning calorimeter （DSC） were used to examine surface morphology and microstructure of the coating. Aqueous corrosion was done in 3%NaCl＋5%H2SO4 solution and high temperature oxidation was done at 750 ℃ in air. The results showed that Ni-P coating had partial amorphous structure mixed with nano-crystals, while the Ni-P/CeO2 coating had perfect amorphous structure. At high temperature, Ni3P precipitation and Ni crystallization took place in both coatings at different temperatures. Aqueous corrosion property and high temperature oxidation property of the composite coating were remarkably improved due to the coating＇s microstructure change and the rare earth doping effect. During the co-deposition process, some Ce^n＋（n=3, 4） ions may be adsorbed to metal/solution interface and hinder nickel deposition. Ni-P/CeO2 coating＇s perfect amorphous structure results from the hindered crystal-typed deposition of nickel and the promoted deposition of phosphorous.

The isothermal oxidizing kinetics of Co-40Cr alloy and its yttrium ion-implanted samples were studied at 1000 ℃ in air by thermal-gravity analysis (TGA). Scanning electronic microscopy (SEm) was used to examine the Cr2O3 oxide film's morphology after oxidation. Secondary ion mass spectrum (SImS) method was used to examine the binding energy change of chromium caused by Y-doping and its influence on formation of Cr2O3 film. Acoustic emission (AE) method was used in situ to monitor the cracking and spalling of oxide films formed on both samples during oxidizing and subsequent air-cooling stages. Theoretical model simulating the film fracture process was proposed to analyze the acoustic emission spectrum both on time domain and on AE-event number domain. It is found that yttrium ion-implantation can remarkably reduce the isothermal oxidizing rate of Co-40Cr and improve the anti-cracking and anti-spalling properties of Cr2O3 oxide film. Reasons for the improvement are mainly that the implanted yttrium can reduce the grain size of Cr2O3 oxide, increase the high temperature plasticity of oxide film, and remarkably reduce the number and size of Cr2O3/Co-40Cr interfacial defects.

Biotransformation of 6:2 fluorotelomer sulfonate(6:2 FTS)by two species of white-rot fungi,Pleurotus ostreatus(***)and Trametopsis cervina(***),was investigated in a sulfurrich medium designed to stimulate production of lignin-degrading *** of 6:2 FTS was observed by *** over the study period of 30 d,but not by *** rates were comparable to those found in other studies investigating mixed culture degradation in nonsulfur limiting media,with approximately 50 mol%of applied 6:2 FTS removed after 30 *** transformation products were short-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids(PFCAs),including PFHxA(2.27 mol%),PFPeA(0.24 mol%),and PFBA(0.28 mol%).The main intermediate products include 5:2 sFTOH(16.3 mol%)and 5:3 FTCA(2.99 mol%),while 6:2 FTCA,6:2 FTuCA,and 5:2 ketone were also identified at low *** 60 mol%of detected products were assigned to the major pathway to 5:2 ketone,and 40 mol%were assigned to the minor pathway to 5:3 *** overall molar balance was found to decrease to 75 mol%by Day 30,however,was closed to near 95 mol%with a theoretical estimation for the volatile intermediates in the headspace,5:2 ketone and 5:2 *** different capabilities of the two white-rot fungal species for 6:2 FTS biotransformation in sulfur-rich media suggest that the enzyme processes of *** to de-sulfonate 6:2 FTS may be unrelated to sulfur metabolism.

Background:Concurrent extrahepatic autoimmune disorders(CEHAID)are frequently observed in autoimmune hepatitis(AIH).It is not clear whether there is any prognostic significance of CEHAID on *** aim of this study was to examine the prognostic impact of CEHAID and the correlation with the disease severity of ***:This study included 65 hospitalized subjects who fulfilled the accepted criteria for AIH during an 8-year period(2009–2016).All records were manually screened for presence of associated autoimmune *** severity of AIH was assessed by liver laboratory tests including the ratio of aspartate aminotransferase to alanine aminotransferase(AST/ALT)and liver ***:Among the enrolled patients,52(80%)were female(median age 61 years,IQR 45–75).Fifty-six(86.2%)were classified as type-1 *** 26(40%)patients at least one additional extrahepatic autoimmune disease was ***-four subjects were referred to our hospital because of acute presentation of AIH(supposed by an acute elevation of hepatic enzymes)for subsequent liver biopsy resulting in initial diagnosis of *** group was stratified into 3 subgroups:(A)AIH alone(n=14);(B)overlap with primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC)/primary sclerosing cholangitis(PSC)(n=11);and(C)with CEHAID(n=9).AST/ALT ratio was the lowest in subgroup C(median 0.64,IQR 0.51–0.94;P=0.023),compared to subgroup A(median 0.91,IQR 0.66–1.10)and subgroup B(median 1.10,IQR 0.89–1.36).Patients with AIH alone showed a trend to the highest grade of fibrosis(mean 2.3;95%CI:1.5–3.0)with no statistical significance compared to subjects with CEHAID(lowest grade of fibrosis;mean 1.5;95%CI:0.2–2.8;P=0.380)whereas the ongoing inflammation was ***:AST/ALT ratio and extent of fibrosis were lower in subjects with AIH and CEHAID,compared to subjects with only ***,the occurrence of CEHAID might be a predictor for lower disease severity of newly diagnosed acute onset AIH,possibly caused by an e

AIm:To compare sedated to unsedated colonoscopy in terms of duration,pain and the patient’s willingness to repeat the ***:Consecutive patients who underwent colonoscopies over a 2-year period were invited to *** patients who were to undergo our endoscopy unit were offered sedation with standard intravenous sedatives and analgesics,or an unsedated colonoscopy was *** details were *** patient anxiety level prior to the procedure,time to reach the cecum,total discharge time,patient and endoscopist pain assessments,satisfaction after the examination and the patient’s willingness to return for the same procedure in the future were ***:Among the 403 observed patients,more males were observed in the unsedated group(66.2%vs 55.2%,P=0.04).Additionally,the unsedated group patients were less anxious prior to the procedure(5.1vs 6.0,Pmpletion rates were comparable between the 2 groups(85.9%vs84.2%,P=0.66).The time to reach the cecum was also comparable(12.2 min vs 11.8 min);however,the total discharge times were shorter in the unsedated group(20.7 min vs 83.0 min,Pmoreover,the average patient pain score(3.4 vs 5.7,Pms of willingness to repeat the procedure if another was required in the future(83.3%vs 77.3%,P=0.17).CONCLUSION:Unsedated colonoscopy is feasible in willing *** option saves the endoscopy units up to one hour per patient and does not affect the patient willingness to return to the same physician again for additional colonoscopies if a repeated procedure is needed.

Scanning electrochemical microscopy represents a powerful tool for electro（chemical） characterization of surfaces, but its applicability has been limited in most cases at microscale spatial resolution, and the greatest challenge has been the scaling down to the nanoscale for fabrication and the use of nanometer-sized tips. Here, Pt nanoelectrodes with nanometer electroactive area were fabricated and employed for imaging a distribution of gold nanoparticles （AuNPs） and bioelectrocatalytic activity of a redox-active enzyme immobilized on gold surfaces.

Isothermal and cyclic oxidation behaviours of pure and yttrium-implanted nickel were studied at 1000℃ in air. Scanning electronic microscopy （SEm） and transmission electronic microscopy （TEm） were used to examine the micro-morphology and structure of oxide scales formed on the nickel substrate. It was found that Y-implantation significantly improved the anti- oxidation ability of nickel in both isothermal and cyclic oxidizing experiments. Laser Raman microscopy was also used to study the stress status of oxide scales formed on nickel with and without yttrium. The main reason for the improvement in anti-oxidation of nickel was that Y- implantation greatly reduced the growing speed and grain size of NiO. This fine-grained NiO oxide film might have better high temperature plasticity and could relieve parts of compressive stress by means of creeping, and maintained a ridge character and a relatively low internal stress level. Hence yttrium ion-implantation remarkably enhanced the adhesion of protective NiO oxide scale formed on the nickel substrate.

This paper presents a study of amorphous SiOx thin films by means of Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (VASE) technique. Tauc Lorentz, Lorentz and Cauchy models have been used to obtain physical thickness and complex refractive index (n and k) from experimental data. In order to obtain a wide range to x stoichiometry values, the films were prepared by vacuum thermal evaporation of SiO on glass substrates, under different and controlled deposition conditions.
