Historic city cores in many countries either fell into neglect or suffered from harmful developments. Due to a variety of reasons, conservation projects failed to preserve sociocultural assets of historic environments. One of these reasons is that experts who involve in the development of historical context completely disregard the communities in such historic areas or their inhabitants. This paper Looks into residents＇ preferences on infiU design projects as part of urban development in historical contexts. It aims to investigate preference ratings of those residents who Live in urban historical context in terms of the quality of new infill design and its relationship to the historical surroundings. This research attempts to evaluate the best design strategies from the point view of the residents as well as the effects of cognitive properties on their preferences. Methodologically, a case study approach was adopted with 204 residents as participants in this survey. The contributive elements that are essential to the quality of fitness are identified through quantitative analysis. The findings of this research indicate that the most preferred design strategies are ＂Literal Replication＂ and ＂Invention within Style＂ from the perspective of the residents, who prefer, to a greater degree, new buildings in historical context replicating something from their surroundings. These findings are useful to experts and major organisations to conduct successful infill development, with consideration of the perceptions of the residents on the changes in their historical context.

Activity of transaminase enzyme and testosterone hormone in blood of Awassi rams during different season

Objective:To monitor the levels of aspartate transaminase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT) enzymes and testosterone hormone in months and seasons of Iraq.Methods: In this experiment, 20 (2.0-3.5 years old) Iraqi Awassi rams were used which were housed in semi opened shade. Blood samples (2-3 mL) were collected once a week for over period 12 mo. AST and ALT activities were measured by using colorimetric method, and testesterone analysis was performed with an automatic analyzer.Results: The activities of both AST and ALT enzymes were increased significantly (P<0.05) during summer, on monthly basis, June showed the significantly highest value (P<0.05). The present study revealed that testosterone in autumn and summer was recorded significantly highest (P<0.05) in comparison with other seasons and on monthly basis the significant (P<0.05) highest level of testosterone was found between September and August months.Conclusions: AST and ALT enzymes are the highest during summer, and on monthly basis they are the highest in June, while testosterone level is recorded highest in autumn season, and on monthly basis November shows the highest value.

全球政治和经济光景瞬息万变,每一时期都有新的强有力的经济体在出现,不同国家之间新的经济政治关系也不断形成。这其中就包括令人瞩目的沙特和中国的关系。为何这两国的关系如此受关注,原因就是这两国在当今国际社会中的特殊地位,沙特是世界上石油储备最多的国家,而中国是仅次于美国GDP排名世界第二的国家。作为当代全球经济中国家间合作的典型代表,研究两国关系是有重大意义的,同时,对于探讨当今两大经济主题的未来发展也意义重大,即石油工业和中国在当今世界市场中的新兴主体地位。由于两国的关系（至少是在公共领域内）发展比较晚,因此对两国的经济关系研究还比较少。因此,关于对中国脱离西方霸权和沙特在石油美元体系中所处状况的研究,是当代经济研究的一个重要组成部分。而两国关系发展最强劲的时期是1990年-2010年,这表现在两个方面,一是世界对中国的看法有了一个里程碑式的转变（主要是体现在中国的GDP总量上）,二是世界石油市场发生了重大改变。两国关系在这一时期,无论是在内部,还是在外部,都是机遇、威胁、优势、劣势并存。本文就是将关注重点放在这20年之间,深入探讨两国经济政治关系的本质。

Objectives: The purpose of this phenomenological Qualitative Study is to gain an in depth understanding of the nature and meaning of the experiences of physicians in relation to truth disclosure and ethics of veracity when diagnosing cancer. Methods: A qualitative phenomenological study using semi-structured interviews was conducted at Sultan Qaboos university hospital (SQUH), l to explore the Omani Physicians’ lived experiences with truth disclosure in patients who were diagnosed with cancer. The target population for this study is Omani physicians working in SQUH. The total of four participants was involved in this study. Results: Three essential themes were generated through the analysis of the participants’ descriptions of their perceptions and lived experiences as the following with their subthemes: the first theme is the clinical aspect of the experiences with three subthemes: 1) The ethical aspect and the physician’s attitude;2) The strategy of breaking bad news;3) Training and breaking bad news. The second theme is Cultural diversity with three subthemes: 1) Relatives preference;2) The patient education;3) The hospital setting. The third theme is the emotional aspect of the experiences with five subthemes: 1) Emotional sadness;2) Personal grief;3) Other emotions;4) The positive emotions;5) Control of the emotions. Conclusion: This study recommends: to build up appropriate measures and guidelines on the subject of truth telling and medical ethics, and to provide more training for the health care providers in the context of breaking bad news. In addition to add to the curriculum of medical colleges the basic ethical principles relevant to medical practice. Finally, to establish medical social work departments in SQUH, and other healthcare institutions in Oman.

Genetic Variation and Heritability Estimates for Bunch Yield, Bunch Components and Vegetative Traits in Oil Palm Interspecific Hybrids

Progeny testing of oil palm interspecific hybrids was conducted in four trials in Kluang, Ulu Paka, Teluk Intan and Carey Island, Malaysia. The interspecific hybrids (O ? P) were created according to the North Carolina Model I (NCM I) mating design, using Elaeis oleifera (O) and Elaeis guineensis var. pisifera (P) as the maternal and paternal parents, respectively. Differences among O, P and O-within-P were determined by the performance (bunch yield, components and vegetative traits) of the progenies. There were significant differences among P for fresh fruit bunch (FFB) yield, bunch number (BN) and average bunch weight (ABW) in Kluang, Ulu Paka and Teluk Intan, but not in Carey Island. FFB yield was generally higher on coastal soils (Teluk Intan and Carey Island) than inland soils (Kluang and Ulu Paka). Heritability was calculated based on the intraclass correlation. Heritability estimates for these three yield components were variable, depending on the breeding material and environment in which the materials were tested. Fruit to bunch (F/B) and oil to bunch (O/B) of parthenocarpic fruits were important in determining the overall O/B of the interspecific hybrids. The O ? P hybrids in Kluang showed the lowest height increment with only a mean of 14.0 cm/year, whereas in Ulu Paka and Teluk Intan, the values were higher at 24.0 cm/year and 25.0 cm/year, respectively. The study showed that the FFB yields of oil palm interspecific hybrids performed better in coastal soils than inland soils.

为了导出最佳的生产实践,应该在生产中研究采用各种钢水包内衬和脱氧方法对锻造钢锭的夹杂物含量和成分的影响。为了研究钢水包的耐火内衬对大型锻造钢锭中非金属夹杂的含量和类别的影响,在80吨碱性平炉中熔炼了19炉钢水,并将其倾入不同内衬(粘土砖、高铝砖、铬镁砖)的钢水包中,用不同的方法(循环脱气、吹氩和真空碳脱氧)进行处理。研究了浇注成20吨和55吨锭的头部和尾部夹杂的量和种类。结果表明,浇注温度和浇注速度对钢锭夹杂物等级有很大的影响。鉴定出五种类型的氧化铝和硅酸盐夹杂,这些夹杂物在钢锭内的分布取决于钢水包内衬和包内处理方法。
