Plant-based dietary patterns and risk of esophageal cancer:A prospective cohort study spanning 17 years

Objective: Plant-based diets have multiple health benefits for cancers;however, little is known about the association between plant-based dietary patterns and esophageal cancer(EC).This study presents an investigation of the prospective associations among three predefined indices of plant-based dietary patterns and the risk of EC.Methods: We performed endoscopic screening for 15,709 participants aged 40-69 years from two high-risk areas of China from January 2005 to December 2009 and followed the cohort until December 31, 2022. The overall plant-based diet index(PDI), healthful plant-based diet index(h PDI), and unhealthful plant-based diet index(u PDI), were calculated using survey responses to assess dietary patterns. We applied Cox proportional hazard regression to estimate the multivariable hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(95% CIs) of EC across 3plant-based diet indices and further stratified the analysis by subgroups.Results: The final study sample included 15,184 participants in the cohort. During a follow-up of 219,365person-years, 176 patients with EC were identified. When the highest quartile was compared with the lowest quartile, the pooled multivariable-adjusted HR of EC was 0.50(95% CI, 0.32-0.77) for h PDI. In addition, the HR per 10-point increase in the h PDI score was 0.42(95% CI, 0.27-0.66) for ECs. Conversely, u PDI was positively associated with the risk of EC, and the HR was 1.80(95% CI, 1.16-2.82). The HR per 10-point increase in the u PDI score was 1.90(95% CI, 1.26-2.88) for ECs. The associations between these scores and the risk of EC were consistent in most subgroups. These results remained robust in sensitivity analyses.Conclusions: A healthy plant-based dietary pattern was associated with a reduced risk of EC. Emphasizing the healthiness and quality of plant-based diets may be important for preventing the development of EC.

Multiple interface coupling on natural tourmaline enables high-efficiency removal of antibiotic:Superior property and mechanism

Reasonably designing highly active,environmentally friendly,and cost-effective catalysts for efficient elimination of pollutants from water is desirable but challenging.herein,an efficient heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalyst tourmaline(TM)/tungsten oxide(WO_(3-x))(named TW10)containing tungsten/boron/iron(W/B/Fe)synergistic active centers and 90%of cheap natural tourmaline(TM)mineral rich in Fe and B elements.The TW10 catalyst can quickly activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)to generate massive active free radicals,which may induce the rapid and efficient degradation of tetracycline(TC).The TW10/PMS/Visible light system can effectively degrade up to 98.7%of tetracycline(TC)in actual waters(i.***.seawater,Yellow River,and Yangtze River water),and the catalytic degradation rates reach 1.65,5.569,and 2.38 times higher than those of TM,WO_(3-x),and commercial P25(Degussa,Germany),respectively.In addition,the catalyst can be recycled and reused multiple times.Electron spin resonance spectroscopy(EPR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer(LC-MS)analyses confirm that the synergistic catalytic effect of W/B/Fe sites on the TW10 catalyst accelerates the electron transfer between Fe(Ⅱ)and Fe(Ⅲ),as well as between W(Ⅴ)and W(Ⅵ),and thus promotes the rapid degradation of TC.The catalytic reaction mechanism and degradation pathway of TC were explored.This work provides a feasible route for the design and development of new eco-friendly and efficient catalyst.

How geographic accessibility and rural governance mitigate the impact of multiple risks on rural households' well-being: Evidence from the Dabie Mountains in China

Despite previous studies on the interconnectedness of livelihood risks and human well-being, limited emphasis has been placed on the influence of geographic accessibility and rural governance on the well-being of rural households. Furthermore, the interplay between geographic accessibility, rural governance, and livelihood risk remains inadequately explored. Based on 522 household samples collected in the Dabie Mounand ordinary least squares regression, this study examines the influence of multiple risks on the subjective well-being of rural households by investigating the moderating roles played by geographic accessibility and rural governance. The results show that(1) multiple risk factors have a significant negative effect on rural households' well-being(β=-0.219, phe relationship between multiple risks and rural households' well-being, decreasing the adverse impact of multiple risks on households' well-being. Our findings suggest that geographic accessibility and rural governance have positive implications for enhancing the well-being of rural households. The findings provide policy insight into mitigating livelihood risks and their negative impacts on household well-being in mountainous regions worldwide.

On the Polygonal Wear Evolution of heavy-Haul Locomotive Wheels due to Wheel/Rail Flexibility and Its Mitigation Measures

Wheel polygonal wear can immensely worsen wheel/rail interactions and vibration performances of the train and track,and ultimately,lead to the shortening of service life of railway components.At present,wheel/rail medium-or high-frequency frictional interactions are perceived as an essential reason of the high-order polygonal wear of railway wheels,which are potentially resulted by the flexible deformations of the train/track system or other external excitations.In this work,the effect of wheel/rail flexibility on polygonal wear evolution of heavy-haul locomotive wheels is explored with aid of the long-term wheel polygonal wear evolution simulations,in which different flexible modeling of the heavy-haul wheel/rail coupled system is implemented.Further,the mitigation measures for the polygonal wear of heavy-haul locomotive wheels are discussed.The results point out that the evolution of polygonal wear of heavy-haul locomotive wheels can be veritably simulated with consideration of the flexible effect of both wheelset and rails.Execution of mixed-line operation of heavy-haul trains and application of multicut wheel re-profiling can effectively reduce the development of wheel polygonal wear.This research can provide a deep-going understanding of polygonal wear evolution mechanism of heavy-haul locomotive wheels and its mitigation measures.

Regulation of interlayer channels of graphene oxide nanosheets in ultra-thin Pebax mixed-matrix membranes for CO_(2) capture

For the application of carbon capture by membrane process,it is crucial to develop a highly permeable CO_(2)-selective membrane.In this work,we reported an ultra-thin polyether-block-amide(Pebax)mixedmatrix membranes(MMMs)incorporated by graphene oxide(GO),in which the interlayer channels were regulated to optimize the CO_(2)/N_(2) separation performance.Various membrane preparation conditions were systematically investigated on the influence of the membrane structure and separation performance,including the lateral size of GO nanosheets,GO loading,thermal reduction temperature,and time.The results demonstrated that the precisely regulated interlayer channel of GO nanosheets can rapidly provide CO_(2)-selective transport channels due to the synergetic effects of size sieving and preferential adsorption.The GO/Pebax ultra-thin MMMs exhibited CO_(2)/N_(2) selectivity of 72 and CO_(2) permeance of 400 GPU(1 GPU=106 cm^(3)(STP)·cm^(2)·s^(-1)·cmHg^(-1)),providing a promising candidate for CO_(2) capture.

矿山开采为中国经济发展做出贡献的同时也带来一系列生态问题,对区域生态环境进行实时、客观、准确的动态评价显得尤为重要。以伊犁河谷为例,基于2013、2015、2017、2019、2021年的Landsat8遥感影像、夜光遥感数据、土地利用数据和统计年鉴数据从生态脆弱性和生态系统服务价值两方面综合构建伊犁河谷生态分区,避免从单一角度考虑区域生态环境的不足,同时分析自然因素和社会因素对高脆弱-高供给和低脆弱-低供给区域的相关性,探究该区域的主要影响因子,为西北干旱区环境治理及合理利用自然环境的社会供给价值提供科学依据。结果表明,1)2013-2021年伊犁河谷矿区生态环境明显改善,极度脆弱区从2013年的6%下降到2021年的3%,整体逐渐转为微度和轻度脆弱的面积占谷地总面积的30%。2)在整个研究期内耕地、林地、裸地、人造地表生态系统呈上升趋势,这些大部分来源于草地。草地在所有土地利用类型中占比最高且生态供给值最高,均达到51%以上。3)高脆弱-高供给区(Ⅰ)生态分区呈带状分布于南部和东部地区,呈减小发展趋势,低脆弱-低供给区(Ⅲ)生态分区主要分布在北部和中部部分区域,该区域逐年递增且增加的区域大部分来源于第Ⅱ生态分区的转化。4)植被覆盖度、人均生产总值、牧羊单位密度是Ⅰ分区的主要影响因素,Ⅲ分区的主要影响因素为土地利用类型、植被覆盖度、湿度。以Ⅰ、Ⅲ分区的研究结果作为参考,对伊犁河谷的各种影响因素进行调控,生态环境将会得到明显改善。

Effects of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Training on Anxiety, Depression, and Quality of Life in Patients with Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

Objective:To explore the effects of progressive muscle relaxation training on anxiety,depression,and quality of life in patients with cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD).Methods:Sixty-one patients with CSVD in the Department of Neurology of a tertiary hospital were divided into an observation group(28 patients)and a control group(33 patients)by lottery method.The control group received conventional nursing care,while the observation group received progressive muscle relaxation training interventions in addition to the conventional care.The Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),and the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale(SS-QOL)were used to compare the effects before the intervention,7 days after the intervention,and 30 days after the intervention.Results:Over time,at different time points after the intervention,the anxiety and depression scores of patients with CSVD in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(Phe quality of life scores were significantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group(Phese differences were statistically significant.Conclusion:Progressive muscle relaxation training can improve anxiety and depression in patients with cerebral small vessel disease and can effectively enhance their quality of life.

随着近年我国全面进入高质量发展阶段,高水平的城市休闲供给愈加重要。面向“人民对美好生活的向往”,系统探究城市休闲设施供给与居民心理健康的关系具有重要意义。为此,本文提出地区“心理压力指数”(Psychological Distress Index,简称PDI)这一概念,以城市为基本单元,基于百度搜索指数进行测算,刻画了2011—2019年PDI的时空分布格局,在控制经济、人口和环境等因素的基础上,通过回归模型探究PDI与休闲设施供给的关系。研究发现:(1)从时间来看,近年来全国和分地区的PDI都呈现明显的上升趋势;(2)从空间来看,越发达地区的PDI通常越高,PDI在全国呈现“东-中-东北-西”递减特征,并且从沿海向内陆形成了高-高、低-高、高-低、低-低的集聚格局;(3)通过逐步回归发现PDI与夜间商业休闲设施(夜宵、酒吧、KTV)和公共休闲设施(公园)的供给水平显著相关,而与日间商业休闲设施(商场、影剧院)的关系不显著,其中,夜宵设施密度和PDI显著正相关,酒吧密度、KTV密度和人均公园数和PDI显著负相关。本文应用大数据初步揭示了居民心理健康水平和不同类型休闲设施供给的关系,为打造健康城市提供了新的研究视角。未来应完善城市休闲谱系,丰富休闲设施供给,以满足居民对高质量休闲的需求,促进居民心理健康。

A Bibliometric Study on The Application of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Training in The Nursing Field in China

Objective:To systematically analyze the research status and application of progressive muscle relaxation training(PMRT)in the nursing field in China,and provide a reference basis for scientific research in this field.Methods:The bibliometric method was adopted in“progressive muscle relaxation training”or“PMRT,”and“nursing.”The established database was included in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and the Wanfang Medical Network.The relevant articles in the Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database(VIP)were analyzed.Results:A total of 169 literatures were included.The journals,years,and regions of literature publication were uneven,mainly originating from the eastern region(43.19%),and listed the application of progressive muscle relaxation training in the field of nursing in China.Intervention literature information was mainly dominated by experimental studies(97%).Conclusion:The related research and application of progressive muscle relaxation training in nursing in China is increasing,but there is a lack of objective evaluation of outcome indicators and a short intervention period.Further research should be conducted in the future to effectively guide the development of PMRT in the field of nursing in China.
