Background:N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)and DNA 5-methylcytosine(5mC)methylation plays crucial roles in diverse biological processes,including skeletal muscle development and *** studies unveiled a potential link between these two systems,implicating the potential mechanism of coordinated transcriptional and post-transcrip-tional regulation in porcine prenatal myogenesis and postnatal skeletal muscle ***:Immunofluorescence and co-IP assays were carried out between the 5mC writers and m^(6)A writers to investigate the molecular basis ***-scale in-house transcriptomic data were compiled for applying weighted correlation network analysis(WGCNA)to identify the co-expression patterns of m^(6)A and 5mC regulators and their potential role in pig ***-genome bisulfite sequencing(WGBS)and methylated RNA immu-noprecipitation sequencing(MeRIP-seq)were performed on the skeletal muscle samples from Landrace pigs at four postnatal growth stages(days 30,60,120 and 180).Results:Significantly correlated expression between 5mC writers and m^(6)A writers and co-occurrence of 5mC and m^(6)A modification were revealed from public datasets of C2C12 *** protein-protein interactions between the DNA methylase and the m^(6)A methylase were observed in mouse myoblast ***,by analyzing tran-scriptome data comprising 81 pig skeletal muscle samples across 27 developmental stages,we identified a 5mC/m^(6)A epigenetic module eigengene and decoded its potential functions in pre-or post-transcriptional regulation in postnatal skeletal muscle development and growth of *** integrative multi-omics analyses on the WGBS methylome data and MeRIP-seq data for both m^(6)A and gene expression profiles revealed a genome/transcriptome-wide correlated dynamics and co-occurrence of 5mC and m^(6)A modifications as a consequence of 5mC/m^(6)A crosstalk in the postnatal myogenesis progress of ***,we identified a group of myogenesis-relat

A　New　Way　to　Estimate　The　Parameters　in　the　Progresive　Stres　Acelerated　Life　Testing

Among the three types of accelerated life testing, that is, the constantstress accelerated life testing, the step stress accelerated life testing, and the progressive stress accelerated life testing, the last one is the most effective and economical way to get the failure times of products in a short period of time. In this article a deficiency in the classical approach is pointed out and a new method for the statistical analysis of life data, especially for electronic products, under progressive stress (voltage) V(t)=Kt is given. Using the Bayesian method, for certain choices of the prior distribution, several forms of estimators of the parameters in the normal stress Weibull distribution and the inverse power law model are derived. In particular, when the new shape parameter of the distribution under progressive stress is given (or estimated in advance), the closed forms of these estimators are relatively simple and are numerically accessible on computers. The formulations are given for the general case and are illustrated for a special simple case. Comparison with the classical approach using pseudorandom data as well as real data on solid tantatum electrolytic capacitors shows that the proposed method is better and more effective.

WATER WAVE SIMULATION IN CURVILINEAR COORDINATES USING A TIME-DEPENDENT MILD SLOPE EQUATION

The purpose of this article is to model the detailed progress of wave propagation in curvilinear coordinates with an effective time-dependent mild slope equation. This was achieved in the following approach, firstly deriving the numerical model of the equation, i.e., Copeland＇s hyperbolic mild-slope equation, in orthogonal curvilinear coordinates based on principal of coordinate transformation, and then finding the numerical solution of the transformed model by use of the Alternative Directions Implicit （ADI） method with a space-staggered grid. To test the curvilinear model, two cases of a channel with varying cross section and a semi-circular channel were studied with corresponding analytical solutions. The model was further investigated through a numerical simulation in Ponce de Leon Inlet, USA. Good agreement is reached and therefore, the use of the present model is valid to calculate the progress of wave propagation in areas with curved shorelines, nearshore breakwaters and other complicated geometries.

Effects of Sb Addition on Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Mg–9Al–5Sn Alloy

The Mg–9Al–5Sn-xSb(x=0.0,0.3,0.6,1.0,1.5 wt%)alloys were prepared by a simple alloying process followed by hot extrusion with an extrusion ratio of *** effects of Sb additions on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Mg–9 Al–5 Sn alloys were investigated by optical microscopy,X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,scanning electron microscopy equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray *** results indicated that the phasesα-Mg matrix,Mg2Sn,Mg_(3)Sb_(2) and Mg17 Al12 exist in the as-cast Sb-containing *** addition results in the precipitation of Mg_(3)Sb_(2).The dendritic size of these alloys decreases with the addition of *** their ultimate tensile strength and yield strength of extruded alloys increase,and their elongation decreases gradually with increasing the content of *** better mechanical properties of the as-extruded alloys were achieved due to the refined grains and the formation of dispersive second phases Mg_(3)Sb_(2).

Threshold of climate extremes that impact vegetation productivity over the Tibetan Plateau

Vegetation growth is adversely impacted by multiple climate extremes related to the water and thermal stress over the Tibetan Plateau(TP).However,it remains unknown at which stress level these climate extremes can trigger the abrupt shifts of vegetation response to climate extremes and result in the maximum vegetation response across *** fill this knowledge gap,we combined the hydrometeorological data and the satellite-derived vegetation index to detect two critical thresholds that determine the response of vegetation productivity to droughts,high-temperature extremes,and low-temperature extremes,respectively,during *** results show that the response of vegetation productivity to droughts rapidly increases once crossing -1.41±0.6 standard deviation(σ)below the normal conditions of soil *** crossing-2.98σ±0.9σ,vegetation productivity is maximum damaged by ***-temperature extremes,which have the two thresholds of 1.34σ±0.4σand 2.31σ±0.4σover TP,are suggested to trigger the strong response of vegetation productivity at a milder stress level than low-temperature extremes(two thresholds:-1.44σ±0.5σand-2.53σ±0.8σ).Moreover,we found the compounded effects of soil moisture deficit in reducing the threshold values of both high-and low-temperature *** on the derived thresholds of climate extremes that impact vegetation productivity,Earth System Models project that southwestern TP and part of the northeastern TP will become the hotspots with a high exposure risk to climate extremes by *** study deciphers the high-impact extreme climates using two important thresholds across TP,which advances the understanding of the vegetation response to different climate extremes and provides a paradigm for assessing the impacts of climate extremes on regional ecosystems.

Correlation Analysis of Transient Heat Transfer Characteristics for Air Precooling Aggregate

In dam works, air precooling of aggregate is a common and effective method to avoid temperature cracks in concrete structure. In order to offer a reliable design theory for the air precooling process to avoid unreasonable energy consumption, the transient heat transfer characteristics of the aggregate are intensively analyzed. The combined structure of the aggregate and the interstitial space in the hopper is treated as a porous structure, and the space-average method is used to simulate the transient heat transfer process. Simulation results show that size of the hopper and the average air velocity in the cross section have great influence on the transient heat transfer process of the aggregate, while the porosity in the range of 0.4-0.5 has little influence. Nomograms are abstracted from simulation results, and then correlations of the compared excess temperature are precisely fitted to predict the air precooling transient heat transfer process of the aggregate.

Breaking the energy-eficiency barriers for smart sensing applications with “Sensing with Computing” architectures

With the developing technologies of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, intelligent IoT(iIoT) is prevailing currently. Design and implementation of integrated IoT nodes with continuous perception capability are indispensable to realize various smart terminal devices, which would also be vital to reduce the power consumption, improve the real-time performance, and enhance the security/privacy of the IoT system. In this paper, we present the architecture of “Sensing with Computing” and its chip design for smart sensing applications, which would support multi-modal perception signal processing with multi-dimension extension ability. Specially, we explore the analog/mixed-signal circuit designs and algorithm-hardware codesign methodologies for perception signal processing, and we also study the multi-modal integration of novel sensors and their interface technologies. Additionally, some multi-modal smart sensing systems with “Sensing+Computing in Memory” mixed-signal chips would be fabricated, which would support typical always-on smart sensing tasks.

Identification of surgical patients at high risk of OSAS using the Berlin Questionnaire to detect potential high risk of adverse respiratory events in post anesthesia care unit

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome （OSAS） increases the risk of post-surgery complications. This study uses Berlin Questionnaire （BQ） to identify Chinese adult surgical patients who are at a high risk of OSAS and to determine if the BQ could be used to detect potential high risk of adverse respiratory events in the post anesthesia care unit （PACU）. Results indicated that only 11.4% of the patients were considered at a high risk of OSAS. Age and body mass index are the key factors for the risk of OSAS prevalence in China and also gender specific. Furthermore, the incidence of adverse respiratory events in the PACU was higher in patients with high risk of OSAS than others （6.8% vs. 0.9%, P 〈 0.001）. They also stayed longer than others in the PACU （95 ~ 28 min vs. 62 ~ 19 min, P 〈 0.001）. Age, high risk for OSAS, and smoking were independent risk factors for the occurrence of adverse respiratory events in the PACU. The BQ may be adopted as a screening tool for anesthesiologists in China to identify patients who are at high risk of OSAS and determine the potential risk of developing postoperative respiratory complications in the PACU.

Coupling effect and characterization modeling of iron ore fines mixing and granulating at 0-1 mm
