In China,the northeastern region has preserved many valuable modern built heritage buildings,which are undergoing difficult exploratory protection during the industrial and urbanisation *** Dalian city as a case study,this article retraces the history of Dalian’s opening up and colonial management from the perspective of urban planning and historic district protection and management *** article sorts out the influence of national and local institutional policies on Dalian’s urban construction and development to analyse the past evolution,current problems and internal causes of the renovation and protection of Dalian’s typical historic *** influence is mainly reflected in the lack of protection and damage done to unofficial heritage,the disconnection between historic districts and the surrounding environments and urban textures,and the Chinese-style transformation and economic decline of exotic *** paper calls for attention to and the rapid clarification of the built heritage list,the improvement of planning and protection systems and related supporting policies,and a focus on the protection of the authenticity of colonial *** paper provides strategic guidance for improving the protection of historic districts in Dalian in Northeast China and hopes to serve as a reference for the protection of built heritage in other nonfamous historic and cultural cities.

For the project of pipe jacking in cohesionless soil,it is key to determine the vertical load on jacked pipe so as to predict the jacking force *** this paper,a new parabolic soil arching model was proposed to calculate the vertical load on jacked *** proposed analytical model was composed of parabolic soil arching zone,parabola-typed collapse zone and friction arch *** with existing literature,the key parameters(i.e.,height of parabolic soil arching,horizontal pressure coefficient and width and height of friction arch)were *** addition,considering that the trajectory of major stress is parabola,the formula of horizontal pressure coefficient was deduced in the friction *** parabolic soil arching zone is assumed as a three-hinged arch with reasonable arch axis,and the formula of load transfer was derived considering the transition effect of parabolic soil *** results of experiment,theoretical models and numerical model were adopted to verify the proposed analytical ***,the influence of the key parameters on the vertical load on jacked pipe were also discussed in *** work provides a meaningful reference for evaluating the vertical load on jacked pipe for design of pipe jacking.

Designing a durable lithium metal anode for solid state batteries requires a controllable and uniform deposition of lithium, and the metal lithium layer should maintain a good interface contact with solid state electrolyte during cycles. In this work, we construct a robust functional interface layer on the modified LiB electrode which considerably improves the electrochemical stability of lithium metal electrode in solid state batteries. It is found that the functional interface layer consisting of polydioxolane, polyiodide ion and Li TFSI effectively restrains the growth of lithium dendrites through the redox shuttle reaction of I-/I3-and maintains a good contact between lithium anode and solid electrolyte during cycles. Benefit from these two advantages, the modified Li-B anode exhibits a remarkable cyclic performance in comparison with those of the bare Li-B anode.

There are three transgression-regression events and evolutions of the sedimentary environment by sea level changes since the Pleistocene in the southern section of the Bohai Sea, China. It is obvious that a multi-source fluvial delta sedimentary system may be more dominant in a sedimentary environment. Based on previous research and survey or historical data, we carried out studies on the division of sedimentary units, sedimentary facies analysis and strata division and comparison, which aim to establish the sedimentary stratigraph of Laizhou Bay. We focus on the sedimentary procession of the Laizhou Bay since the early Late Pleistocene. It can be divided into two glacial periods and three interglacial periods, corresponding to two regression and three transgression events in Laizhou Bay since Late Pleistocene. In 124.6-72.0 ka BP, 60.0-24.4 ka BP and 10.2-4.0 ka BP, three times warm-wet periods occurred, respectively corresponding to the Cangzhou transgression, Xianxian transgression, and Huanghua transgression. In 72.0-60.0 ka BP and 24.4-10.2 ka BP, two dry and cold periods, it was the continental sedimentary environment, corresponding to Wurm early glacier and Wurm late glacier. The results show:(1) Sediments have the characteristics of phase and stage under the terrestrial input of the Yellow River and middle-small rivers in the southern section of the Bohai Sea.(2) PI moved towards coastal in Cangzhou transgression strata in early Late Pleistocene. PI moved northward from land in Xianxian transgression strata in the late Pleistocene. PI moved further north in the Huanghua transgression strata in Holocene.(3) During the regressive period, the land source input increased and the estuarine or lagoon sedimentation developed, which manifested as progradational superposition.(4) During the transgressive period, it mainly developed shallow coastal sediment and transitionally formed regressive deposition to the south in delta/tidal flat deposition.

LZ91 Mg-Li alloy plates with three types of initial texture were rolled by 70%reduction at both room temperature and 200℃to explore the rolling texture formation ofα-Mg *** results showed that the rolling texture is largely affected by the initial *** the samples exhibited two main texture components as RD-split double peaks texture and TD-split double peaks texture after large strain *** intensity of the two texture components was strongly influenced by the initial orientation and rolling *** twinning altered the large-split non-basal orientation to a near basal one at low rolling *** basal orientation induced by twinning is unstable,which finally transmitted to the RD-split *** strong TD-split texture formed due to slip-induced orientation transition from its initial *** competition between prismatic and basal slip determined the intensity and tilt angle of the TD-split *** increasing the rolling temperature,the TD-split texture component was enhanced in all three *** of extension twinning behavior and the promotion of prismatic slip at elevated temperature are the main reasons for the difference in hot and cold rolling texture.

Designer chromosomes are artificially synthesized ***,these chromosomes have numerous applications ranging from medical research to the development of ***,some chromosome fragments can interfere with the chemical synthesis of designer chromosomes and eventually limit the widespread use of this *** address this issue,this study aimed to develop an interpretable machine learning framework to predict and quantify the synthesis difficulties of designer chromosomes in *** the use of this framework,six key sequence features leading to synthesis difficulties were identified,and an e Xtreme Gradient Boosting model was established to integrate these *** predictive model achieved high-quality performance with an AUC of 0.895 in cross-validation and an AUC of 0.885 on an independent test *** on these results,the synthesis difficulty index(S-index)was proposed as a means of scoring and interpreting synthesis difficulties of chromosomes from prokaryotes to *** findings of this study emphasize the significant variability in synthesis difficulties between chromosomes and demonstrate the potential of the proposed model to predict and mitigate these difficulties through the optimization of the synthesis process and genome rewriting.

Alterations of mitochondria DNA(mtDNA)4977 bp common deletion(CD)and mtDNA copy number induced by ionizing radiation were observed in human different cell lines and total body irradiation ***,only few experiments have evaluated the levels of the CD and mtDNA copy number in human peripheral blood exposed to ionizing radiation till *** aim of this study is to analyze the mtDNA alterations in irradiated human peripheral blood from healthy donors as well as to explore their feasibility as biomarkers for constructing new *** blood samples were collected from six healthy donors,and exposed to 60Co gamma ray with the doses of 0 Gy,1 Gy,2 Gy,3 Gy,4 Gy and 5 *** of the CD and mtDNA copy number in irradiated samples after 2h or 24h incubation were detected using TaqMan real-time PCR,and the CD ratio was *** results showed that the mean of the CD ratio and the CD copy number exhibited a dose-dependent increase 2 h in the dose range from 0–5 Gy,and of the mtDNA copy number significantly increased 24 h in irradiated groups compared with 0 Gy group after *** indicates that the parameters in human peripheral blood may be considered as molecular biomarkers to applying construction of new biodosimeter.

Construction of yolk-shell Fe304@C nanocubes for highly stable and efficient lithium-ion storage

The yolk-shell Fe3O4@C nanocubes were successfully synthesized through carbothermic reduction process from carbon-coated α-Fe2O3 precursor. The results show that the yolk-shell Fe3O4@C nanocubes are uniformly coated with a thin carbon layer, and a clear cavity about 150 nm in width between Fe3O4 core and carbon shell are formed due to the volume shrinkage during the reduction treatment. The obtained yolk-shell Fe3O4@C nanocubes exhibit excellent cycling stability (the discharge capacity is 709.7 mA·h/g after 100 cycles at the current density of 0.1C) and rate performance (1023.4 mA·h/g at 0.1C, 932.5 mA·h/g at 0.2C, 756.1 mA·h/g at 0.5C, 405.6 mA·h/g at 1C, and 332.3 mA·h/g at 2C, and more importantly, when the current density finally backs to 0.1C, a capacity of 776.8 mA·h/g can be restored). The outstanding lithium storage properties may be attributed to the unique yolk-shell structures.

The machine-learning approach was investigated to predict the mechanical properties of Cu–Al alloys manufactured using the powder metallurgy technique to increase the rate of fabrication and characterization of new materials and provide physical insights into their *** algorithms were used to construct the prediction models, with chemical composition and porosity of the compacts chosen as the *** results show that the sequential minimal optimization algorithm for support vector regression with a puk kernel(SMOreg/puk) model demonstrated the best prediction ability. Specifically, its predictions exhibited the highest correlation coefficient and lowest error among the predictions of the six models. The SMOreg/puk model was subsequently applied to predict the tensile strength and hardness of Cu–Al alloys and provide guidance for composition design to achieve the expected values. With the guidance of the SMOreg/puk model, Cu–12Al–6Ni alloy with a tensile strength(390 MPa) and hardness(HB 139) that reached the expected values was developed.
