Resource requirements of an edge-based digital twin service:an experimental study

Digital Twin(DT)is a pivotal application under the industrial digital transformation envisaged by the fourth industrial revolution(Industry 4.0).DT defines intelligent and real-time faithful reflections of physical entities such as industrial robots,thus allowing their remote *** on the latest advances in Information and Communication Technologies(ICT),namely network Function Virtualization(nFV)and Edge-computing,DT can be deployed as an on-demand service in the factories close proximity and offered leveraging radio access ***,with the purpose of achieving the well-known scalability,flexibility,availability and performance guarantees benefits foreseen by the latest ICT,it is steadily required to experimentally profile and assess DT as a service(DTaas)***,the dependencies between the resources claimed by the service and the relative demand and work loads require to be *** this work,an Edge-based Digital Twin solution for remote control of robotic arms is deployed in an experimental testbed where,in compliance with the nFV paradigm,the service has been segmented in virtual network *** research has primarily the objective to evaluate the entanglement among overall service performance and VnFs resource requirements,and the number of robots consuming the service *** profiles show the most critical DT features to be the inverse kinematics and trajectory ***,the same analysis has been carried out as a function of the industrial processes,namely based on the commands imposed on the robots,and particularly of their ion-level,resulting in a novel trade-off between computing and time resources requirements and trajectory *** derived results provide crucial insights for the design of network service scaling and resource orchestration fra-meworks dealing with DTaas ***,we empirically prove LTE shortage to accommodate the minimum DT latency requirements.

T cell-mediated immune therapies have emerged as a promising treatment modality in different malignancies including colorectal cancer(CRC).However,only a fraction of patients currently respond to *** the lack of responses and finding biomarkers with predictive value is of great *** is evidence that CRC is a heterogeneous disease and several classification systems have been proposed that are based on genomic instability,immune cell infiltration,stromal content and molecular subtypes of gene *** leukocyte antigen class Ⅰ(HLA-Ⅰ)plays a pivotal role in presenting processed antigens to T lymphocytes,including tumour *** molecules are frequently lost in different types of cancers,including CRC resulting in tumour immune escape from cytotoxic T lymphocytes during the natural history of cancer *** aim of this review is to(i)summarize the prevalence and molecular mechanisms behind HLA-Ⅰ loss in CRC,(ii)discuss HLA-Ⅰ expression/loss in the context of the newly identified CRC molecular subtypes,(iii)analyze the HLA-Ⅰ phenotypes of CRC metastases disseminated via blood or the lymphatic system,(iv)discuss strategies to recover/circumvent HLA-I expression/loss and finally(v)review the role of HLA class Ⅱ(HLA-Ⅱ)in CRC prognosis.

Trial eligibility in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: Does it support clinical practice in underrepresented subgroups?

selection and Analysis of Polymorphisms in somaclonal Variants of Agave americana Resistant to Fusarium oxysporum via an Ethyl Methanesulphonate Treatment

Agave americana *** were exposed to different concentrations of ethyl methanesulphonate(EMs)0,15,30,45 and 60 mM and to different times of exposure(2 and 4 h).The viability and capacity of shoot formation were shown to be affected when the callus were exposed to high concentrations(30–60 mM).Only the callus exposed to 15 mM EMs presented shoot formation;the exposure time of two hours produced the largest quantity of shoots regenerated per callus(21 shoots/callus).In order to generate somaclonal variants resistant to Fusarium oxysporum,a selection pressure was applied through of a culture filtrate(CF)of 100 ppm of the *** was made in callus obtained in the treatment with 15 mM EMs during 2 h of *** CF caused oxidation and necrosis in 71.25%of the callus;however,they were capable of generating shoots(3.5 shoots/callus).Molecular markers type RAPD,IssR and DAMD were used to evaluate the genetic variation arising from the mutations caused by EMs on control plants and 16-month-old somaclonal *** polymorphic information content(PIC)for each one of the initiating groups was:0.28(DAMD),0.09(IssR)and 0.14(RAPD).DAMD revealed a greater percentage of polymorphism than RAPD and *** bands were detected in the somaclonal *** indicated that the EMs caused genetic variation in the regenerated plants conferring resistance to them against Fusarium oxysporum.

Few explanations of geography’s influence on economic and cognitive development have been *** study was purported to test three development models based on absolute latitude(AL)and additionally addressed altitude above sea level and the particular case of the Amazonía in *** on 1468 Peruvian districts was obtained from Peru’s Ministry of Education and United nations Development Program’s Human Development *** data were best fitted by ad hoc path models which combined AL with altitude and took different forms in the Amazonía and remainder of ***+altitude explained education+health,and income,through cognitive ability in the Amazoní*** the remainder of Peru,AL–altitude explained income and cognitive ability through education+health,with an additional,weak but significant,direct AL→cognitive ability *** findings add to evidence suggesting the mediation of UV radiation in the relationship between latitude and development.

Consumer attitudes towards the mountain product label: Implications for mountain development

To protect and promote the originality and authenticity of mountain foodstuffs, the European Union set Regulation no 1151/2012 to create the optional quality term "mountain product". Our research aimed at exploring the attractiveness of the mountain product label for consumers, considering both attitude towards the label itself and purchase intentions. We propose a model to investigate relationships between four latent constructs-mountain attractiveness, mountain food attractiveness, attitude towards the mountain product label, and purchase intention-which have been tested, thus confirming the statistical relevance of the relationships. All 47 items selected for describing the latent constructs are suitable for this purpose. Ridge and LAssO results also show that 17 items of the first three constructs are relevant in explaining purchase intentions. some contextual variables, such as age, income, geographical origin of consumers, and knowledge of mountain products and mountains for tourism purposes, can positively influence consumers’ behavior. These findings could support the design of mountain development strategies, in particular marketing actions for both the product and the territory.

Development of the spine and thoracic cage consists of a complex series of events involving multiple metabolic processes, genes and signaling pathways. During growth, complex phenomena occur in rapid succession. This succession of events, this establishment of elements, is programmed according to a hierarchy. These events are well synchronized to maintain harmonious limb, spine and thoracic cage relationships, as growth in the various body segments does not occur simultaneously at the same magnitude or rate. In most severe cases of untreated progressive earlyonset spinal deformities, respiratory insufficiency and pulmonary and cardiac hypertension(cor pulmonale), which characterize thoracic insufficiency syndrome(TIs), can develop, sometimes leading to death. TIs is the inability of the thorax to ensure normal breathing. This clinical condition can be linked to costo-vertebral malformations(e.g., fused ribs, hemivertebrae, congenital bars), neuromuscular diseases(e.g., expiratory congenital hypotonia), Jeune or Jarcho-Levin syndromes or to 50% to 75% fusion of the thoracic spine before seven years of age. Complex spinal deformities alter normal growth plate development, and vertebral bodies become progressively distorted, perpetuating the disorder. Therefore, many scoliotic deformities can become growth plate disorders over time. This review aims to provide a comprehensive review of how spinal deformities can affect normal spine and thoracic cage growth. Previous conceptualizations are integrated with more recent scientific data to provide a better understanding of both normal and abnormal spine and thoracic cage growth.

Comparing practice-ready forecast models for weekly and monthly fluctuations of average daily traffic and enhancing accuracy by weighting methods

Knowing daily traffic for the current year is recognized as being essential in many fields of transport analysis and practice, and short-term forecasting models offer a set of tools to meet these needs. This paper examines and compares the accuracy of three representative parametric and non-parametric prediction models, selected by the analysis of the numerous methods proposed in the literature for their good combi- nation of forecast accuracy and ease of calibration, using real-life data on Italian motorway stretches. non-parametric K-nn regression model, Gaussian maximum likelihood model and double seasonality Holt-Winters exponential smoothing model confirm their goodness to predict the weekly and monthly fluctuations of average daily traffic with varying degrees of performance, while maintaining an easy use in professional practice, i.e. requiring ordinary professional skills and conventional analysis tools. since combining several prediction models can give, on average, more accuracy than that of the individual models, the paper compares two weighting methods of easy implementation and susceptible to a direct use, namely the widely used information entropy method and the less widespread shapley value method. Despite being less common than the information entropy method, the shapley value method proves to be more capable in better combining single forecasts and produces improvements in the predictions for test data. With these remarks, the paper might be of interest to traffic technicians or analysts, in various and not uncommon tasks they might find in their work.

The immersed boundary method has emerged as an efficient approach for the simulation of finite-sized solid particles in complex fluid ***,one of the well known shortcomings of the method is the limited support for the simulation of light particles,*** with a density lower than that of the surrounding fluid,both in terms of accuracy and numerical *** a broad literature exists,with several authors reporting different approaches for improving the stability of the method,most of these attempts introduce extra complexities and are very costly from a computational point of *** this work,we introduce an effective force stabilizing technique,allowing to extend the stability range of the method by filtering spurious oscillations arising when dealing with light-particles,pushing down the particle-to-fluid density ratio as low as *** thoroughly validate the method comparing with both experimental and numerical data available in literature.
