Habanero pepper(Capsicum chinense Jacq.)is a crop of economic relevance in the Peninsula of *** fruits have a high level of capsaicinoids compared to peppers grown in other regions of the world,which gives them industrial *** is an important factor that affects pepper development,nutritional quality,and capsaicinoid ***,the effect of soil type on fruit development and capsaicinoid metabolism has been little *** work aimed to compare the effect of soils with contrasting characteristics,black soil(BS)and red soil(RS),on the expression of genes related to the development of fruits,and capsaicinoid synthesis using a transcriptomic analysis of the habanero pepper *** growing in RS had bigger fruits and higher expression of genes related to floral development,fruit abscission,and softening which suggests that RS stimulates fruit development from early stages until maturation *** from plants growing in BS had enrichment in metabolic pathways related to growth,sugars,and ***,these fruits had higher capsaicinoid accumulation at 25 days post-anthesis,and higher expression of genes related to the branched-chain amino acids metabolism(ketol-acid reductisomerase KARI),pentose phosphate pathway and production of NADPH(glucose-6-phosphate-1-dehydrogenase G6PDH),and proteasome and vesicular traffic in cells(26S proteasome regulatory subunit T4 RPT4),which suggest that BS is better in the early stimulation of pathways related to the nutritional quality and capsaicinoid metabolism in the fruits.

Study of corneal biomechanical properties in patients with childhood glaucoma

AIM:To study of corneal biomechanical properties and intraocular pressure(IOP)measured with Corvis Scheimpflug Technology(ST)in patients with childhood glaucoma(CG).METHODS:Cross-sectional study in which 89 eyes were included 56 of them with *** one eye per patient was *** following variables were obtained from the clinical history and the ophthalmological examination:age,sex,IOP,number of surgeries,and the cup/disc ratio(CDR).The following parameters were recorded using Corvis ST:corrected by biomechanics IOP(b IOP),not corrected IOP(nct IOP),central corneal thickness(CCT),maximum concavity[radius,peak distance(PD)and deformation amplitude],applanation 1 and 2(length and velocity).The mean age was 23±14.55 and 33±19.5 years old for the control group and CG group,*** 36 were males and 53 were *** the CG group,7 patients were controlled only with medical *** had at least one previous goniotomy,19 had at least one trabeculectomy,and 11 had an Ahmed ***:A significant and positive intraclass correlation coefficient was found between Goldman IOP and the IOP measured by Corvis in both *** differences were found between the IOP measured with Corvis and Goldman using a student *** biomechanical parameters,there were differences in the applanation length 2(A-L2),in the applanation velocity 2(A-V2)and in the *** sex,only the applanation length 1(A-L1)was found to be different in control group.A positive and significant Pearson correlation was found between CDR and the ***:Corneal biomechanical properties have shown differences between CG and healthy subjects and also between men and women.

Ectopic lignification in primary cellulose-deficient cell walls of maize cell suspension cultures

Maize （Zea mays L.） suspension-cultured cells with up to 7o% less cellulose were obtained by stepwise habituation to dichlobenil （DCB）, a cellulose biosynthesis inhibitor. Cellulose deficiency was accompanied by marked changes in cell wall matrix polysaccharides and phenolics as revealed by Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy. Cell wall compositional analysis indicated that the cellulosedeficient cell walls showed an enhancement of highly branched and cross-linked arabinoxylans, as well as an increased content in ferulic acid, diferulates and p-coumaric acid, and the presence of a polymer that stained positive for phloroglucinol. In accordance with this, cellulose-deficient cell walls showed a fivefold increase in Klason-type lignin. Thioacidolysis/GC-MS analysis of cellulose-deficient cell walls indicated the presence of a lignin-like polymer with a Syringyl/Guaiacyl ratio of 1.45, which differed from the sensu stricto stress-related lignin that arose in response to shortterm DCB-treatments. Gene expression analysis of these ceils indicated an overexpression of genes specific for the biosynthesis of monolignol units of lignin. A study of stress signaling pathways revealed an overexpression of some of the iasmonate signaling pathway genes, which might trigger ectopic lignification in response to cell wall integrity disruptions. In summary, the structural plasticity of primary cell walls is proven, since a lignification process is possible in response to cellulose impoverishment.

γγ interactions with KLOE

Studies of γγ interactions are performed with the KLOE detector, without tagging of the outgoing e^＋e^-. The data sample is from an integrated luminosity of 240 pb^-1. It was collected at the φ-factory DAONE with e^＋e^- beams colliding at √s ≌1 GeV, below the φ resonance peak. We present preliminary results concerning the observation of the γγ→η process and the evidence for γγ→π^0π^0 production at low π^0π^0 invariant masses.

However, this text, is fully current, as well as the book itself. The book described mainly the initial historical analysis made by Dr. Barceló on the rotational dynamics. For Professor garcia Moliner, the book contains an extremely positive message. It shows us that scientific research consists of constantly questioning hitherto accepted theories and seeing if they can always be applied to new situations.

Colored bicycle lanes and intersection treatments:International overview and best practices

The use of colored pavements for bicycle facilities represents an interesting strategy for supporting the implementation of a high-quality cycling network. The distinctive coloration of dedicated lanes, tracks or shared paths provides a clearly delineated route, making the infrastructure more attractive as well as legible and intuitive, especially through intersections and junctions. The additional emphasis resulting from the coloring enhances a change in the road users' behavior, but its safety effectiveness seems to be particularly related to several site-specific contextual features. Although some of these benefits are well established and multiple applications of colored pavements are widespread around the world, most of cycling design standards and guides, which are usually written only in the language of the country that drafted them and are often difficult to find, completely lack in technical recommendations and concepts regarding the use of color for cycling ***, based on an extensive worldwide literature search from more than 80 official design guidelines, manuals and standards and 50 scientific articles, the authors have structured a guided overview of the state of the art/practice concerning the use of color for bike facilities at the international level, including the latest innovative and experimental schemes. The review is not intended to be a summary of manuals, but is conceived as a decision-makers' and designers' tool for a rational planning, construction, maintenance and management of colored cycling infrastructures, able to favor a cultural and technical interchange. After a first section in which the main locations where to use colored surfaces were highlighted(corridor or spot treatments), the commonly used colors(red, green and blue) have been identified, explaining the hierarchical and/or combined reasons(regulatory and legal limitations, visual-perceptual aspects and application/maintenance requirements) behind this choice. Tuning of frictional properties in torsional contact by means of disk grading

Despite governing heat management in any realistic device,the microscopic mechanisms of heat transport in all-solid-state electrolytes are poorly known:existing calculations,all based on simplistic semi-empirical models,are unreliable for superionic conductors and largely overestimate their thermal *** this work,we deploy a combination of state-of-the-art methods to calculate the thermal conductivity of a prototypical Li-ion conductor,the Li_(3)ClO *** leveraging ab initio,machine learning,and force-field descriptions of interatomic forces,we are able to reveal the massive role of anharmonic interactions and diffusive defects on the thermal conductivity and its temperature dependence,and to eventually embed their effects into a simple rationale which is likely applicable to a wide class of ionic conductors.
