A new Shear Stress Transport(SST)k-ω model is devised to integrate salient features of both the non-transitional SST k-ω model and correlation-based γ-re_(θ) transition *** exceptionally simplified approach is applied to extend the New SST(NSST)model capabilities toward transition/non-transition ***’s stress-intensity factor r_(b)=|-uv|/k can be parameterized with the wall-distance dependent reynolds number re_(y)=√ky/v;however,as the re_(y)is replaced by a“flow-structure-adaptive”parameter r_(μ)=v_(T)/v,the resulting r_(b)is capable of capturing various transition phenomena *** prospective stress-intensity parameter r_(b)=r_(b)(re_(y),r_(μ))is incorporated in the constitutive relations for eddy-viscosity v_(T) and production term P_(k).The proposed formulation is intrinsically plausible,having a dramatic impact on the prediction of bypass,separation-induced and natural transitions together with non-transitional *** extra viscous-production term P_(k)^(lim) is added with the k-equation to ensure proper generation of k at the viscous sublayer when computing separation-induced transition over a Low-reynolds Number(LrN)*** demonstrate that the NSST k-ω model maintains an excellent consistency with both SST k-ω and γ-re_(θ) models.

Fluvial reservoir characterization through channel belt dimension and petrophysical analysis

The dimensions and connectivity of fluvial reservoirs vary greatly, making it challenging to characterize them using conventional approaches. In this study integrated channel belt dimension analysis from seismic geomorphology and empirical equations, well log facies, and petrophysical analysis were performed to characterize the fluvial reservoirs. The study interval consists of fluvial deposits and is divided into three reservoir zones, which are defined by four key regional markers (B, D, K, O). In these intervals, six (6) fluvial facies have been identified. Based on the log facies proportions and their stacking relationships, it is interpreted that the reservoirs in zone 1 (B to D) were deposited in a proximal reach of a meandering system, zone 2 (D to K) in a marginal marine setting, and zone 3 (K) in a distal reach of a meandering system. The dimensions of fluvial channels and channel belts were determined using empirical equations. The results were compared with the observed dimensions of fluvial channels and channel belts from the seismic horizon and stratal slices of the same intervals. Zones 1 and 3 are characterized by broad meander belts (1000–4000 m) compared to zone 2 (600–1300 m). Petrophysical analysis showed zones 1 and 3 have the better petrophysical properties compared to zone 2. Though zone 3 has the most well-developed sand bodies, the best reservoir interval is zone 1 because of its higher porosity. Although channel belt dimensions have a significant influence on reservoir connectivity, they do not seem to have control on reservoir properties. The channel belt dimensions obtained from the empirical equations and interpreted from the seismic geomorphology analysis were found to be strikingly similar. Since three-dimensional seismic data is not available everywhere and seismic imaging quality decreases with depth, empirical equations can be used to analyze fluvial reservoir parameters and their connectivity at greater depths.

Considering the inhomogeneous or heterogeneous background, we have demonstrated that if the background and the half-immersed object are both non-absorbing, the transferred photon momentum to the pulled object can be considered as the one of Minkowski exactly at the interface. In contrast, the presence of loss inside matter, either in the half-immersed object or in the background, causes optical pushing of the object. Our analysis suggests that for half-immersed plasmonic or lossy dielectric, the transferred momentum of photon can mathematically be modeled as the type of Minkowski and also of Abraham. However, according to a final critical analysis, the idea of Abraham momentum transfer has been rejected. Hence,an obvious question arises: whence the Abraham momentum? It is demonstrated that though the transferred momentum to a half-immersed Mie object(lossy or lossless) can better be considered as the Minkowski momentum, Lorentz force analysis suggests that the momentum of a photon traveling through the continuous background, however, can be modeled as the type of Abraham. Finally, as an interesting sidewalk, a machine learning based system has been developed to predict the time-averaged force within a very short time avoiding time-consuming full wave simulation.

Demand-controlled ventilation(DCV)is commonly implemented to provide variable amounts of outdoor air according to an internal ventilation *** objective of the present study is to investigate the applicability and the performance of occupancy-based DCV schemes in comparison with time-based and CO_(2)-based DCV *** do this,we apply the occupancy estimation method by the Bayes theorem to control the ventilation rate of an office building in *** investigated six cases in total(two cases for each control scheme).Experiments were conducted in a small office room with controllable ventilation equipment and relevant *** observed results indicated that the occupancy-based schemes relying on Bayes theorem could be applied successfully to perform continuous control of ventilation rates without causing recursive ***,we discussed the time delays associated with the control procedure,including dispersion time,sensor-response time,and data processing ***,we compared the performance of the proposed approach in six DCV cases in terms of a resultant indoor CO_(2) level and the total ventilation-air *** concluded that DCV control based on both occupancy and floor area provided the best conformity to the ASHrAE standard among the analyzed schemes.

The widespread presence of microplastics(MPs)in road dust has considerable concern regarding their potential risks to ecosystems and human *** the massive production of plastic,the erudition of MPs distribution patterns in various sizes of deposited road dust is still limited around the ***,the aim of this research is to provide an unambiguous picture of MPs distributional pattern,identification,classification,quantification,and features from road dust in various zones and types of roadways in Dhaka,*** study examined MPs in road dust samples with particle sizes ranging from 300 to 150 mm(Group-A),149-75 mm(Group-B),androup-C).This work extracted MPs from road dust using 30%H_(2)O_(2),1.6 g/cm^(3)ZnCl_(2),and 0.45 mm filter paper.A fluorescent microscope(Motic B410E,Germany),Motic Pictures,and 3.0 ML software were utilized to identify MPs ***,FTIr and SEM were utilized to determine the chemical composition of ***-A road dust samples had a significantly higher concentration of MPs(38945 items/kg)compared to Group-B androup-C dust(16720 and 5945 items/kg,respectively).The distribution hierarchy for total MPs on average by location and type of road is as follows:paved road(355 items/5 g)>unpaved road(325 items/5 g)>soil samples(294 items/5 g),roadside dust samples(284 items/5 g),and mid-road(283 items/5 g).By taking into account all sizes of road dust samples,the MPs were classified as fiber(70.26%),fragment(26.12%),beads(0.66%),films(1.32%),and foams(1.58%).It was found that adults inhaled MPs an average of 1612 items/day,while they ingested an average of 880 items/*** had an inhalation rate of 1232 items/day and an ingestion rate of 10267 items/day,which was 4e17 times greater than in other *** study identified 22 MPs polymer types,and SEM results show that MPs surfaces are being weathered into nanoplastics,creating a more hazardous environment.

For both the longitudinal binding force and the lateral binding force,a generic way of controlling the mutual attraction and repulsion(usually referred to as reversal of optical binding force)between chiral and plasmonic hybrid dimers or tetramers has not been reported so *** this paper,by using a simple plane wave and an onchip configuration,we propose a possible generic way to control the binding force for such hybrid objects in both the near-field region and the far-field *** also investigate different inter-particle distances while varying the wavelengths of light for each inter-particle distance throughout the *** of all,for the case of longitudinal binding force,we find that chiral-plasmonic hybrid dimer pairs do not exhibit any reversal of optical binding force in the near-field region nor in the far-field region when the wavelength of light is varied in an air ***,when the same hybrid system of nanoparticles is placed over a plasmonic substrate,a possible chip,it is possible to achieve a reversal of the longitudinal optical binding ***,for the case of lateral optical binding force,we investigate a setup where we place the chiral and plasmonic tetramers on a plasmonic substrate by using two chiral nanoparticles and two plasmonic nanoparticles,with the setup illuminated by a circularly polarized plane *** applying the left-handed and the right-handed circular polarization state of light,we also observe the near-field and the far-field reversal of lateral optical binding force for both *** far as we know,so far,no work has been reported in the literature on the generic way of reversing the longitudinal optical binding force and the lateral optical binding force of such hybrid *** a generic way of controlling optical binding forces can have important applications in different fields of science and technology in the near future.
