Durability evaluation of GFRP rebars in harsh alkaline environment using optimized tree-based random forest model

GFRP bars reinforced in submerged or moist seawater and ocean concrete is subjected to highly alkaline *** investigating the durability of GFRP bars in alkaline environment,the effect of surrounding temperature and conditioning duration on tensile strength retention(TSR)of GFRP bars is well investigated with laboratory aging of GFRP ***,the role of variable bar size and volume fraction of fiber have been poorly ***,various structural codes recommend the use of an additional environmental reduction factor to accurately reflect the long-term performance of GFRP bars in harsh *** study presents the development of Random Forest(RF)regression model to predict the TSR of laboratory conditioned bars in alkaline environment based on a reliable database comprising 772 tested *** model was optimized,trained,and validated using variety of statistical checks available in the *** developed RF model was used for the sensitivity and parametric ***,the formulated RF model was used for studying the long-term performance of GFRP rebars in the alkaline concrete *** sensitivity analysis exhibited that temperature and pH are among the most influential attributes in TSR,followed by volume fraction of fibers,duration of conditioning,and diameter of the bars,*** bars with larger diameter and high-volume fraction of fibers are less susceptible to degradation in contrast to the small diameter bars and relatively low fiber’s volume ***,the long-term performance revealed that the existing recommendations by various codes regarding environmental reduction factors are conservative and therefore needs revision accordingly.

Flying ad hoc networks are used for many critical tasks. The network formation for routing data becomes difficult because of the mobility of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs). To solve the communication issue, we propose an intelligent cluster routing scheme for flying ad hoc networks(CRSF). Cluster head(CH)selection in our proposed methodology is based on fitness, which is determined by the position and UAVs’ residual energy. For the efficient management of UAV swarm, a cluster management mechanism is also proposed, inspired by moth flame optimization. In CRSF, for stable cluster maintenance, a CH re-selection mechanism is proposed in detail, which helps maintain the cluster for effective topology management. A routing mechanism for UAV communication is proposed for CRSF. The route selection for transmission of information is performed using the route identification function based on the Euclidean distance and residual energy. The performance of the proposed CRSF is evaluated and compared with the existing routing algorithms.

In this study, CeO2 nanostructures were synthesized by a soft chemical method. A hydrothermal treatment was observed to lead to an interesting morphological transformation of the nanoparticles into homogeneous microspheres composed of nanosheets with an average thickness of 40 nm. Structural analysis revealed the formation of a single-phase cubic fluorite structure of CeO2 for both samples. A Raman spectroscopic study confirmed the XRD results and furthermore indicated the presence of a large number of oxygen vacancies in the nanosheets. These oxygen vacancies led to room-temperature ferromagnetism （RTFM） of the CeO2 nanosheets with enhanced magnetic characteristics. Amazingly, the nanosheets exhibited substantially greater antibacterial activity than the nanoparticles. This greater antibacte- rial activity was attributed to greater exposure of high-surface-energy polar surfaces and to the presence of oxygen vacancies.

This study examines the Impact of FDI on Reducing Unemployment rate in Pakistan from1990 to *** study utilized the Auto Regressive Distributive Lag(ARDL)model and Error Correction Mechanism(ECM)to test the long and short-run relationship among FDI,inflation,bureaucracy,labour density and *** results show that FDI and Bureaucracy have a negative and statistically negative influence on unemployment reduction both in the short and long *** the long run,Inflation has a significant positive effect on unemployment reduction,but,in short-run has a no-significant effect on unemployment *** density has a significant positive effect on unemployment reduction in both short-run and long *** recommendations are given in the light of results obtained by this study.

BACKGROUND:Hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection is a major cause of mortality and morbidity *** quest continues to identify viral factors that influence disease progression and severity as well as responses to treatment of HBV *** on variations in HBV,the virus has been divided into a number of genotypes. DATA SOURCES:Review of published literature on HBV genotypes. RESULTS:HBV genotypes are likely to be important in determining the severity and progression of HBV-induced liver disease as well as responses to different anti-viral agents. CONCLUSION:Although HBV genotyping is not yet recommended for routine use in treating HBV infection, available data suggest that,as in hepatitis C virus infection, HBV genotyping is also likely to become a routine investigation for HBV treatment,perhaps in the not too distant future.

Adsorption and photodegradation are promising approaches for removing organic *** this study,we combined these two processes by co-loading Fe-TiO2 and Fe2O3 quantum dots(QDs)on porous MCM-41,using a simple hydrolysis method.X-ray diffraction,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results indicated that Fe-TiO2 QDs are formed at low Fe precursor concentrations,while additional Fe2O3 QDs are formed at higher Fe precursor *** Fe2O3 and Fe-TiO2 QDs impart high adsorption capacity and high photoactivity to the porous MCM-41,***,their combination results in a synergic effect of the adsorption and *** highest-performing sample exhibits excellent performance in removing rose bengal from aqueous solution.

A thin film of copper phthalocyanine（CuPc）,a p-type semiconductor,was deposited by thermal evaporation in vacuum on an n-type gallium arsenide（GaAs） single-crystal semiconductor *** semitransparent Ag thin film was deposited onto the CuPc film also by thermal evaporation to fabricate the Ag/p-CuPc /n-GaAs/Ag *** of the cell was measured in photoresistive and photodiode modes of operation. It was observed that with an increase in illumination,the photoresistance decreased in reverse bias while it increased in forward *** photocurrent was increased in reverse bias *** forward bias operation with an increase in illumination,the photocurrent showed a different behavior depending on the voltage applied.
