Developing a simple scalable method to fabricate electrodes with high capacity and wide voltage range is desired for the real use of electrochemical ***,we synthesized amorphous NiCo-LDH nanosheets vertically aligned on activated carbon cloth substrate,which was in situ transformed from Co-metal-organic framework materials nano-columns by a simple ion exchange process at room *** to the amorphous and vertically aligned ultrathin structure of NiCo-LDH,the NiCo-LDH/activated carbon cloth composites present high areal capacities of 3770 and 1480 mF cm^(-2)as cathode and anode at 2 mA cm^(-2),and 79.5%and 80%capacity have been preserved at 50 mA cm^(-2).In the meantime,they all showed excellent cycling performance with negligible change after>10000 *** fabricating them into an asymmetric supercapacitor,the device achieves high energy densities(5.61 mWh cm^(-2)and 0.352 mW cm^(-3)).This work provides an innovative strategy for simplifying the design of supercapacitors as well as providing a new understanding of improving the rate capabilities/cycling stability of NiCo-LDH materials.

Challenges and Motivating Factors of Orthodontic Treatment among Patients Attending Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital

Background: Orthodontic treatment poses challenges such as discomfort, aesthetic concerns, dietary restrictions, time commitment, and financial considerations for patients. These challenges can deter individuals from pursuing treatment or cause anxiety during the process. However, patients are motivated by the desire to improve their appearance, boost self-confidence, and enhance oral health. They also value the long-term benefits of treatment, including improved dental function and overall well-being. Professional recommendations from dentists and orthodontists, along with social support from family and friends, further encourage patients to undergo treatment. Understanding these challenges and motivating factors is crucial for orthodontic professionals to tailor treatment plans and ensure positive experiences and successful outcomes for their patients. Objective: To determine the challenges and motivating factors of orthodontic treatment among patients attending Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Method: The study was conducted at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana, with a sample size of 60 orthodontic patients. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS software. Ethical approval was obtained, and the findings were shared with stakeholders. Results: Findings showed a higher representation of females (63.3%) seeking orthodontic treatment. Common motivations for seeking orthodontic treatment included aesthetic Concerns (38.2%), misaligned teeth (28.1%) and recommendation from dentist (19.2%). Challenges reported included pain and discomfort (36.7%), difficulty chewing (15%), expensive treatment (14.4%) and missed appointments (11.7%). Factors motivating treatment continuation were visible improvements (30%), achieving optimal results (23%), reducing pain and discomfort (17%). External influences, such as family pressure, also played a role. Patients appreciated the support of healthcare providers during treatment but

铀是一种重要的战略资源,它的开发与利用可能会严重危害生态系统。深入研究铀元素与环境介质的相互作用,对于揭示铀在生态系统中的归宿和迁移行为具有重要的意义。在氧化性水环境中,铀以六价态铀酰的形式存在。传统的研究主要集中在铀酰与粘土矿物的相互作用,离子交换、表面吸附、表面沉积是其主要作用机制。然而,天然有机物与铀酰具有强烈的亲和作用,会影响铀酰在生态系统中的存在形式。由于天然有机物自身结构的复杂性,天然有机物与铀酰的相互作用尚没有明确的结论,因此有必要开展深入系统的研究。本实验提出使用一种准单分散的“平头”聚苯乙烯-聚丙烯酸（PS-b-PAA）嵌段聚合物胶束,用于模拟天然腐殖酸胶体与铀酰的相互作用。重点使用X射线小角散射技术研究铀酰对PS-b-PAA胶束结构的影响,样品的散射曲线具有明显的核-壳结构振荡峰,吸附铀酰后,振荡峰强度增加,同时发现低q区域散射强度增加。核-壳模型拟合分析表明:弱酸性水溶液中,PAA壳层厚度2.6 nm,聚集数135,PS核表面积1641 nm,平均每个PAA链占据12 nm;胶束与铀酰混合后,PAA壳层厚度降低、衬度增加。随着铀酰浓度的增加,胶束发生团聚,进而产生沉淀。根据铀酰浓度变化和X射线小角散射的分析结果可计算出一个PS（279）-b-PAA（69）胶束平均能吸附600个铀酰离子,即15个PAA段能吸附1个铀酰。该工作的研究方法和研究思路对于深入认识腐殖酸胶体与锕系元素的相互作用具有重要意义。

Software and Mobile Apps as a Strategy for Productivity Improvement in the Construction Industry

The construction industry, known for its low productivity, is increasingly utilising software and mobile apps to enhance efficiency. However, more comprehensive research is needed to understand the effectiveness of these technology applications. The PRISMA principles utilised a scoping review methodology to ascertain pertinent studies and extract significant findings. From 2013 onwards, articles containing data on mobile applications or software designed to enhance productivity in the construction sector were obtained from multiple databases, including Emerald Insight, Science Direct, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. After evaluating 2604 articles, 30 were determined to be pertinent to the study and were subsequently analysed for the review. The review identified five key themes: effectiveness, benefits, successful implementation examples, obstacles and limitations, and a comprehensive list of software and mobile apps. In addition, 71 software and mobile apps have shown potentially how these technologies can improve communication, collaboration, project management, real-time collaboration, document management, and on-the-go project information and estimating processes in the construction industry, increasing efficiency and productivity. The findings highlight the potential of these technologies such as Automation, Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Internet of Things (IoT) to improve efficiency and communication in the construction industry. Despite challenges such as cost, lack of awareness, resistance to change, compatibility concerns, human resources, technological and security concerns and licensing issues, the study identifies specific mobile applications and software with the potential to enhance efficiency significantly, improve productivity and streamline workflows. Climatic and non-climatic factors driving the livelihood vulnerability of smallholder farmers in Ahafo Ano North District, Ghana

Smallholder farmers in Ahafo Ano North District, Ghana, face multiple climatic and non-climatic issues. This study assessed the factors contributing to the livelihood vulnerability of smallholder farmers in this district by household surveys with 200 respondents and focus group discussions(FGDs) with 10 respondents. The Mann–Kendall trend test was used to assess mean annual rainfall and temperature trends from 2002 to 2022. The relative importance index(RII) value was used to rank the climatic and non-climatic factors perceived by respondents. The socioeconomic characteristics affecting smallholder farmers' perceptions of climatic and non-climatic factors were evaluated by the binary logistic regression model. Results showed that mean annual rainfall decreased(P>0.05) but mean annual temperature significantly increased(P<0.05) from 2002 to 2022 in the district. The key climatic factors perceived by smallholder farmers were extreme heat or increasing temperature(RII=0.498), erratic rainfall(RII=0.485), and increased windstorms(RII=0.475). The critical non-climatic factors were high cost of farm inputs(RII=0.485), high cost of healthcare(RII=0.435), and poor condition of roads to farms(RII=0.415). Smallholder farmers' perceptions of climatic and non-climatic factors were significantly affected by their socioeconomic characteristics(P<0.05). This study concluded that these factors negatively impact the livelihoods and well-being of smallholder farmers and socioeconomic characteristics influence their perceptions of these factors. Therefore, to enhance the resilience of smallholder farmers to climate change, it is necessary to adopt a comprehensive and context-specific approach that accounts for climatic and non-climatic factors.

Equitable bivalent booster allocation strategies against emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants in US cities with large Hispanic communities:The case of El Paso County,Texas

COVID-19 is a disease that disproportionately impacts the Hispanic population,due to the prevalence of certain risk factors and the high number of essential workers in this *** this work,we analyze the vaccination strategies that would minimize the COVID-19 health disparities in El Paso County,TX,in the context of the emergence of a new highly transmissible and immune-escaping SARS-CoV-2 *** stratify an age-structure stochastic SEIR model that tracks the evolution of immunity derived from in-fections and vaccination according to Hispanic vs non-Hispanic ethnicity and parameterize it to the demographic,health and immunization data of El Paso County,*** fitting the model,the results show that increasing vaccination with bivalent boosters by five-fold in anticipation of highly transmissible and immune escaping variants would decrease the cumulative hospital admissions and mortality from Mar 1,2023,to Dec 31,2023,by 62.72%and 61.41%,***,our projections reveal that the disproportionate impact on the Hispanic community would be eliminated if approximately half of the doses that are given to the non-Hispanic group according to the equal distribution,would be re-allocated to the Hispanic *** findings can guide public health officials in US cities with large Hispanic communities and help them design vaccination strategies that minimize COVID-19 health disparities caused by emerging variants using specific vacci-nation strategies.

Facial expression recognition(FER)has numerous applications in computer security,neuroscience,psychology,and *** to its non-intrusiveness,it is considered a useful technology for combating ***,FER is plagued with several challenges,the most serious of which is its poor prediction accuracy in severe head *** aim of this study,therefore,is to improve the recognition accuracy in severe head poses by proposing a robust 3D head-tracking algorithm based on an ellipsoidal model,advanced ensemble of AdaBoost,and saturated vector machine(SVM).The FER features are tracked from one frame to the next using the ellipsoidal tracking model,and the visible expressive facial key points are extracted using Gabor *** ensemble algorithm(Ada-AdaSVM)is then used for feature selection and *** proposed technique is evaluated using the Bosphorus,BU-3DFE,MMI,CK^(+),and BP4D-Spontaneous facial expression *** overall performance is outstanding.

各行各业的生产系统日益成为推动差异化和竞争优势的战略经营管理功能。因此,生产设备维护是整个生产系统管理功能的一个组成部分,应包括备件库存控制系统、全面质量保证和改进措施以及成本控制措施。本课题在了解加纳食品和饮料行业公司的生产流程的基础上,评估备件库存管理实践、生产质量控制实践和实施的维护管理策略,从而推荐一个维护优化模型系统,以确保最佳的运行成本和生产质量。本研究的实施主要采用归纳演绎法,具有探索性和解释性。加纳食品和饮料行业的三个主要参与者:GIHOC(加纳工业控股公司)酒厂有限公司(GDCL)、Heathi Life加纳有限公司(Healthi Life)和Parlays加纳有限公司(Parlays)被有意抽样作为工业案例研究,以从文件二级数据和基于调查的来源生成数据。本研究利用MATLAB/Simulink软件提供的功能工具实现维护优化问题的构建、建模、分析和导出解决方案等。研究发现,加纳的食品和饮料加工业务与该国主要农产品正相关,涉及肉类、鱼类、水果、蔬菜、淀粉制品、。’
