Copper composites reinforced with dia.ond pa.ticles were fa.rica.ed by the powder meta.lurgica. technique. Copper ma.rix a.d dia.ond powders were mixed mecha.ica.ly, cold com- pa.ted a. 100 ba. then sintered a. 900?C. The prepa.ed powders a.d sintered copper/dia.ond composites were investiga.ed using X-ra. diffra.tion (XRD) a.d sca.ning electron microscope equipped with a. energy dispersive X-ra. a.a.ysis (SEM/EDS). The effect of dia.ond contents in the Cu/dia.ond composite on the different properties of the composite wa. studied. On fra.ture surfa.es of the Cu/uncoa.ed dia.ond composites, it wa. found tha. there is a.very wea. bonding between dia.onds a.d pure copper ma.rix. In order to improve the bonding strength between copper a.d the reinforcement, dia.ond pa.ticles were electroless coa.ed with NiWB a.loy. The results show tha. coa.ed dia.ond pa.ticles distribute uniformly in copper composite a.d the interfa.e between dia.ond pa.ticles a.d Cu ma.rix is clea. a.d well bonded due to the forma.ion of a.thin la.er from WB2, Ni3B, a.d BC2 between Cu a.d dia.ond interfa.es. The properties of the composites ma.eria.s using coa.ed powder, such a. ha.dness, tra.sverse rupture strength, therma. conductivity, a.d coefficient of therma. expa.sion (CTE) were exhibit grea.er va.ues tha. tha. of the composites using uncoa.ed dia.ond powder. a.ditiona.ly, the results revea.s tha. the ma.imum dia.ond incorpora.ion wa. a.ta.ned a. 20 Vf%. a.tua.ly, Cu/20 Vf% coa.ed dia.ond com- posite yields a.high therma. conductivity of 430 W/mK a.ong with a.low coefficient of therma. expa.sion (CTE) 6 × 10–6/K.

The effects of edible coa.ings ma.e of chitosa., or chitosa. na.opa.ticles, a.d their combina.ions with clove oil on the physica., chemica., microbiologica., a.d sensory properties of grey mullet (Mugil cepha.us) stea.s during refriger-a.ed stora.e (4 °C) for 24 da.s were eva.ua.ed. The da.a.indica.ed tha. metrics for a.l of these cha.a.teristics were improved significa.tly (P ≤ 0.05) in coa.ed fish stea. sa.ples compa.ed to the control sa.ple. The coa.ed stea.s texture va.ues were higher tha. those of control sa.ple through stora.e time with na.ochitosa. coa.ing conta.ning clove oil ha.ing best va.ue 2.51 kg/cm2 a.ong tested sa.ples a. the end of stora.e period. However, pH va.ues of coa.ed sa.ples were lower, a.good indica.or, tha. corresponding one of the control (6.46) with na.ochitosa. coa.ings with or without clove oil showed low mea. va.ues (6.11-6.13). Simila. trend rega.ding chemica. indices, i.e. tota. vola.ile ba.ic-nitrogen, trimethyla.ine, peroxide, a.d thioba.bituric a.id rea.tive substa.ces va.ues for sa.ples coa.ed with na.ochitosa. with or without clove oil giving better lower va.ues tha. control or other trea.ments. a.so, the coa.ing dela.ed microbia. (a.robic pla.e count, psychrotrophic ba.teria. yea.ts a.d molds, a.d tota. coliform ba.teria. growth during the refrigera.ion stora.e period, a.d coa.ed sa.ples produced better results compa.ed to the control sa.ple. Sensory eva.ua.ions showed tha. the trea.ment enha.ced the scores of fish stea. sa.ples compa.ed to the control. The results showed tha. a.na.ochitosa. coa.ing with clove oil wa. the best trea.ment prolonged the shelf life of mullet stea.s a.d efficiently ma.nta.ned the qua.ity a.tributes to a. a.cepta.le level during refrigera.ed stora.e for 24 da.s. Thus, these findings ca. be ba.es for producer to provide consumers with fresh fish stea.s with good shelf life a. refrigera.ed tempera.ure for up to 24 da.s.

Objective: To investiga.e the effect of Ca.na.is sa.iva.extra.t on the development of neuroa.d hepa.o-toxicity ca.sed by ma.a.hion injection in ra.s. Methods: The extra.t of Ca.na.is sa.iva.wa. obta.ned from the pla.t resin by chloroform trea.ment. Δ~9-Tetra.ydroca.na.inol content of the extra.t(20%) wa. qua.tified using ga. chroma.ogra.hy–ma.s spectrometry. The doses of ca.na.is extra.t were expressed a. Δ~9-tetra.ydroca.na.inol content of 10 or 20 mg/kg. Ma.a.hion(150 mg/kg) wa. intra.eritonea.ly a.ministered followed a.ter 30 min by the ca.na.is extra.t(10 or 20 mg/kg, subcuta.eously). Ra.s were eutha.ized 4 h la.er. Ma.ondia.dehyde(MDa., reduced gluta.hione(GSH), nitric oxide a.d pa.a.xona.e-1(PON-1) a.tivity were determined in bra.n a.d liver. Bra.n 5-lipoxygena.e a.d butyrylcholinestera.e(BChE) a.tivity were mea.ured a. well. Histopa.hologica. exa.ina.ion of bra.n a.d liver tissue wa. a.so performed. Results: Compa.ed to controls, ma.a.hion resulted in increa.ed oxida.ive stress in bra.n a.d liver. MDa.a.d nitric oxide concentra.ions were significa.tly increa.ed(Pa.d GSH significa.tly decrea.ed with respect to control levels(Pa.a.hion a.so significa.tly inhibited PON-1 a.d BChE a.tivities but ha. no effect on bra.n 5-lipoxygena.e. Bra.n MDa.concentra.ions were not a.tered by ca.na.is trea.ment. Ca.na.is a. 20 mg/kg, however, ca.sed significa.t increa.e in nitric oxide a.d restored the GSH a.d PON-1 a.tivity. Bra.n BChE a.tivity significa.tly decrea.ed by 26.1%(Pa.ter trea.ment with 10 mg/kg ca.na.is. Ca.na.is showed no effect on bra.n 5-lipoxygena.e. On the other ha.d, ra.s trea.ed with ca.na.is exhibited significa.tly higher levels of liver MDa. nitric oxide a.d PON-1 a.tivity compa.ed with the ma.a.hion control group. Ra.s trea.ed with only ma.a.hion exhibited spongiform cha.ges, neurona. da.a.e in the cerebra. cortex a.d degenera.ion of some Purkinje cells in the cerebellum. North a.rica.is one of the most regions impa.ted by wa.er *** implementa.ion of controlled dra.na.e(CD)in the northern Nile River delta.of Egypt is one stra.egy to decrea.e irriga.ion,thus a.levia.ing the nega.ive impa.t of wa.er *** study investiga.ed the impa.ts of CD a. different levels on dra.na.e outflow,wa.er ta.le level,nitra.e loss,gra.n yield,a.d wa.er use efficiency(WUE)of va.ious whea. *** levels of CD,i.e.,0.4 m below the soil surfa.e(CD-0.4)a.d 0.8 m below the soil surfa.e(CD-0.8),were compa.ed with subsurfa.e free dra.na.e(SFD)a. 1.2 m below the soil surfa.e(SFD-1.2).Under ea.h dra.na.e trea.ment,four whea. cultiva.s were grown for two growing sea.ons(November 2018–a.ril 2019 a.d November 2019–a.ril 2020).Compa.ed with SFD-1.2,CD-0.4 a.d CD-0.8 decrea.ed irriga.ion wa.er by 42.0%a.d 19.9%,dra.na.e outflow by 40.3%a.d 27.3%,a.d nitra.e loss by 35.3%a.d 20.8%,*** CD trea.ments,pla.ts a.sorbed a.significa.t portion of their eva.otra.spira.ion from sha.low groundwa.er(22.0%a.d 8.0%for CD-0.4 a.d CD-0.8,respectively).a.l whea. cultiva.s positively responded to CD trea.ments,a.d the highest gra.n yield a.d stra. yield were obta.ned under CD-0.4 *** the initia. soil sa.inity a. a.reference,the soil sa.inity under CD-0.4 trea.ment increa.ed two-fold by the end of the second growing sea.on without nega.ive impa.ts on whea. *** the dra.na.e system by ra.sing the outlet eleva.ion a.d considering sha.low groundwa.er contribution to crop eva.otra.spira.ion promoted wa.er-sa.ing a.d *** responses could be obta.ned ba.ed on the different pla.t tolera.ce to sa.inity a.d wa.er stress,crop cha.a.teristics,a.d growth ***-specific soil sa.inity ma.a.ement pra.tices will be required to a.oid soil sa.iniza.ion due to the a.option of long-term sha.low groundwa.er in Egypt a.d other simila. a.roecosystems.

Purpose: Is to eva.ua.e the a.cura.y of fused 3D time-of-flight (TOF) MR a.giogra.hy a.d 3D Stea.y-Sta.e sequence (FIESTa. versus 3D contra.t-enha.ced T1 weighted ima.es in eva.ua.ion of neurova.cula. compression via.a. inter-observer a.reement protocol. Methods: Pa.ients presented with trigemina. neura.gia. tinnitus, or fa.ia. hemispa.m were exa.ined using 3D-TOF-MRa. 3D-FIESTa. a.d 3D contra.t-enha.ced T1WI of the cerebellopontine a.gle to a.sess neurova.cula. compression. Two independent rea.ers a.sessed the loca.ion, signa. a.tera.ion, offending va.cula. structure, a.d gra.e of neurova.cula. compression using fused 3D-TOF-MRa.a.d 3D-FIESTa.versus contra.t-enha.ced T1 weighted ima.es. The Ka.pa.test for interobserver a.reement wa. done. Results: The fina. study cohort consisted of 56 pa.ients (42 fema.es a.d 14 ma.es) with a.mea. a.e of 38.25 ± 1.94. a.Ca.wa. the offending vessel for 32 (57.1%) pa.ients. The most common offending nerve wa. the trigemina. nerve in 26 pa.ients, followed by fa.ia./vestibulocochlea. complex in 18 pa.ients, a.d solely the 8th nerve in 12 pa.ients. a.l three gra.es of compression were encountered in this study with percenta.es of 48.2% (27/56), 30.3% (17/56), a.d 21.4% (12/56) for gra.es I, II, III respectively. Fused TOF a.d stea.y-sta.e ima.es, a.d contra.t-enha.ced ima.es showed perfect a.reement for detection of the side of compression, the rela.ion between nerve a.d va.cula. loop, offended neura. segment, a.d offending vessel, while showing good a.reement rega.ding the degree of compression. Conclusion: Fused TOF a.d stea.y-sta.e ima.es provide sufficient da.a.to dia.nose a.d gra.e microva.cula. compression syndromes compa.a.le to contra.t-enha.ced ima.es.
