Co(II) and Cr(III) metal complexes of Schiff bases were synthesized from the condensation reaction between 4-(dimethylamino)benzaldehyde and 4-amino-3-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-sulfonic acid. Their structures were investigated by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, infrared spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy, and 1HNmR spectroscopy. The elemental analysis data suggested a 1:1 [m:L] ratio for the complexes. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes indicate their electrolytic nature in DmSO as a solvent. The absorption bands in the electronic spectra verified an octahedral environment around the metal ions in the complexes.

Bis(2-methoxybenzylidene)biphenyl-4,4'-diamine Schiff base was prepared by the reaction of benzidine and O-methoxy benzaldehyde 1:2 reaction. Two complexes of this ligand with Cr(III) and Fe(II) were prepared. All prepared compounds were analysed using elemental analysis, IR, 1H NmR and mass spectroscopy. The formation of proposed structures, including the free ligand and complexes were confirmed.

A facile and fast approach for the synthesis of a nanostructured nickel hydroxide(Ni（OH）;) via sonochemical technique is reported in the present study. The X-ray diffraction results confirmed that the synthesized Ni（OH）;was oriented in β-phase of hexagonal brucite structure. The nanostructured Ni（OH）;electrode exhibited the maximum specific capacitance of 1256 F/g at a current density of 200 mA/g in 1 m KOH;. Ni（OH）;electrodes exhibited the pseudocapacitive behavior due to the presence of redox reaction. It also exhibited long-term cyclic stability of 85% after 2000 cycles, suggesting that the nanostructured Ni（OH）;electrode will play a promising role for high performance supercapacitor application.

The weakness of Human Auditory System (HAS) led the audio steganography process to be used in hiding data in the digital sound. Audio steganography is implemented here by using Least Significant Bit (LSB) algorithm to hide message into multiple audio files. This is achieved by 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th bits hiding ratios. In comparison to other used bits, hiding results show that the use of 1st bit in LSB method for embedding data is much better than those used bits as expected. In addition to that and according to the results, file’s size affects strongly upon the effectiveness of the embedding process while hiding starting position doesn’t affect upon the variation of the adopted statistical estimators regardless to which bit is used. Among the statistical estimators that have been adopted here, the mean Absolute Error (mAE) seems to be the best one in testing hiding process.

This paper describes an algorithmic method to investigate and analyze scattering types during different weather conditions. Scattering effects have been distinguished and tested by analyzing captured images at regular intervals. The analyzed process performed by measuring the average intensity values of the RGB-bands for a certain selected line of the captured images. These measurements are executed in Baghdad city in a steady state for the partly cloudy, hazy and clear days. Rayleigh and mie scattering work attractively in these days. The adopted algorithm shows the symmetric behavior for RGB bands and L-component intensity distribution which caused by scattering types for both clear and partly cloudy days while it isn’t the case for the hazy one.

Background: Thyroidectomy for giant goiter is a surgical challenge due to distorted and displaced anatomy. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between giant goiter and its operative complications. material and methods: A retrospective multicenter study of consecutive patients who had thyroid surgery was conducted, including 639 patients who undergone thyroidectomy in State hospital at Van and Corlu city—Turkey. Seven cases had giant goiter in the patients. Total thyroidectomy was performed all patients. Results: All patients were women. The mean weight of glands removed was 689 gr in giant goiter’s patients. Two operative complications had happened;right site injury of the external branch of the superior laryngeal nerve had happened to one patient;hypocalcemia was happened to another one patient. In those two patients previously were operated partial thyroidectomy. Conclusions: Thyroidectomy for a massively enlarged goiter is technically challenging. The predominant operative complications were related to previously operate and the thyroid gland due to distorted and displaced anatomy. The surgical approach to such cases requires carefully preoperative evaluation and planning. Especially, using of intraoperative nerve monitoring is to be useful in these difficult cases which previously had undergone surgery.

melicope lunu-ankenda is commonly used in traditional medicine. The conventional propagation method for this species is inefficient due to low propagation rate and its lengthy period to maturity. In addition, insufficient planting materials often pose a problem for the plantation sector. The tissue culture technique is best alternative to overcome the problems. The callus induction and direct shoot regeneration protocols for m. lunu-ankenda were established. Callus was successfully initiated from leaves explants cultured in mS medium added with 2,4-D at concentrations 0.5 to 5.0 mg/L singly or in combination with NAA at concentrations 1.0 to 10 mg/L. Shoot was regenerated from callus in phytohormone-free medium, BAP at concentrations 0.5 - 5.0 mg/L singly or in combination of BAP with NAA or 2,4-D at concentration 0.5 and 1.0 mg/L, respectively. BAP at 1.0 mg/L induced the highest shoot regeneration rate (80%) and number of plantlet per calli. The established methods might be used for production of phytochemicals and plantlets in large scale.

The use of composites in different sectors has become inevitable due to the enhancement in properties, reduction in the manufacturing cost and suitability to several applications. Among different classifications, polymeric composites are mainly focused on their use as structural components and the selection and composition of reinforcement play a vital role in determining the characteristics of the composite. Although composites are developed with man-made reinforcement in the beginning stage, in the present situation, natural reinforcements have proved excellent results in terms of properties. Hence, nowadays researches are mainly focused on the use of different natural fibers in different forms as reinforcements in polymeric composite. This work presents a brief overview on the properties of natural fiber and natural fiber reinforced composites which is an emerging area in polymer science. Interests in natural fiber is reasonable due to the advantages of these materials compared to others, such as synthetic fiber composites, including low environmental impact and low cost and support their potential to be used. moreover, the disadvantage of the synthetic and fiber-glass as reinforcement, the use of natural fiber reinforced composite gained the attention of the young scientists, researchers, and engineers and are being exploited as a replacement for the conventional fiber such as glass, aramid, carbon etc. Natural fibers have been proven alternative to synthetic fiber in transportation such as automobiles, railway coaches and aerospace, military, building, packaging, consumer products and construction industries for ceiling paneling, partition boards etc. However, in development of these composites, some drawbacks have also emerged. In this paper, it has been tried to overview all of this together.
