Biodiesel synthesis via metal oxides and metal chlorides catalysis from marine alga Melanothamnus afaqhusainii

This research article demonstrates the most comprehensive comparative catalytic study of different metal oxides and metal chlorides towards the methanolysis of triglycerides of marine red macroalga Melanothamnus *** was found to be the most reactive metal oxide that yielded 80% biodiesel while ZnCl_2 was the most reactive metal chloride that produced 60% biodiesel by mechanical stirring for 6 h at 100–110 °*** overall reactivity order of the catalysts was found to be CaO>MgO>PbO_2>ZnCl_2>TiCl_4>PbO>HgCl_2>ZnO>AlCl_3>SnCl_2>TiO_2whereas,CaCl_2,MgCl_2,Al_2O_3,HgO,PbCl_2,MnO_2,MnCl_2,Fe_2O_3 and FeCl_3 were found to be non-reactive for transesterification of *** addition,a detailed study of the screening of mobile phases and spraying reagents was conducted which showed that petroleum ether :chloroform :toluene(7:2:1)is the best mobile phase,whereas iodine crystals/silica gel is the best visualizing agent for the thin layer chromatography(TLC)examination of *** production was confirmed by comparative TLC *** was further supported by the determination of fuel properties of biodiesel,which were found to be similar to the standard limits of American Society for Testing and Materials(ASTM).

Our endocrine system is not only complex,but is also enormously sensitive to the imbalances caused by the environmental stressors,extreme weather situation,and other geographical *** endocrine disruptions are associated with the bone *** is a bone disorder that occurs when bone mineral density and bone mass *** affects women and men of all races and ethnic groups,causing bone weakness and the risk of *** stresses are referred to physical,chemical,and biological factors that can impact species *** research aims to examine the impact of environmental stresses on bone diseases like osteoporosis and low bone mass(LBM)in the United States(US).For this purpose,we use an artificial neural network model to evaluate the correlation between the data.A multilayer neural network model is constructed using the Levenberg–Marquardt training algorithm,and its performance is evaluated by mean absolute error and coefficient of *** data of osteoporosis and LBM cases in the US are divided into three groups,including gender group,age group,and race/ethnicity *** group shows a positive correlation with environmental stresses and thus the endocrinology.

AIM:To provide a comprehensive and more representative national data on the disease,especially on treatment options and outcomes,and to determine access of retinoblastoma patients from Luzon,Visayas and Mindanao to eye care,and determine if access is associated with delay in consultation,staging and ***:Cohort study of retinoblastoma patients seen in eleven institutions located in the three major areas of the Philippines namely Luzon,Vizayas and Mindanao from ***:Totally 636 patients,involving 821 eyes,were ***(57%)were from Luzon and were seen in institutions in Luzon(72%).Annually,58±10 new cases were seen with 71%having unilateral *** delay of consultation remained long at 9(3,17)mo,longest in patients with unilateral disease(P<0.02)and those from the Visayas(P<0.003).Based on the International Retinoblastoma Staging System,only 35%of patients had Stage 1 while 47%already had extraocular *** was the most common treatment received by 484 patients while intravenous chemotherapy was received by *** were 250(39%)patients alive,195(31%)dead,85(13%)abandoned,17(3%)refused and 89(14%)with no ***:This study presents the largest cohort of retinoblastoma patients in the Philippines in terms of patients’and participating institutions’number and geographical location and type of institution(private and public).It also presents more comprehensive data on the treatments used and outcomes(survival,globe salvage,and vision retention rates).Delay in consultation was still long among patients leading to advanced disease stage and lower survival *** increasing capacity to diagnose and manage retinoblastoma in the country,the delay of consultation remains long primarily due to accessibility issues to eye care institutions especially in the Visayas and financial *** delay was still significant that overall survival rate remain low.

Synapsins serve as flagships among the presynaptic proteins due to their abundance on synaptic vesicles and contribution to synaptic communication. Several studies have emphasized the importance of this multi-gene family of neuron-specific phosphoproteins in maintaining brain physiology. In the recent times, increasing evidence has established the relevance of alterations in synapsins as a major determinant in many neurological disorders. Here,we give a comprehensive description of the diverse roles of the synapsin family and the underlying molecular mechanisms that contribute to several neurological *** physiologically important roles of synapsins associated with neurological disorders are just beginning to be understood. A detailed understanding of the diversified expression of synapsins may serve to strategize novel therapeutic approaches for these debilitating neurological disorders.

Toxic hexavalent chromium reduction by Bacillus pumilis,Cellulosimicrobium cellulans and Exiguobacterium

Three bacterial strains B acillus pumilis,Cellulosimicrobium cellulans and Exiguobacterium were investigated when grown in Luria-Bertani(LB) medium at 500 μg/m L Cr(VI). The hexavalent chromium reduction was measured by growing the strains in De Leo and Ehrlich(1994) medium at 200 and 400 μg/m L K 2 Cr O 4. The optimal Cr(VI) reduction by strains B. pumilis,Exigubacterium and C. cellulans was 51%,39%,and 41%,respectively,at an initial K2 Cr O 4 concentration of 200 μg/m L at p H 3 and temperature 37°C. At an initial chromate concentration of 400 μg/m L,the Cr(VI) reduction by strains B. pumilis,Exigubacterium and C. cellulans was 24%,19%,and 18%,respectively at p H 3 at 37°C after 24 h. These strains have ability to reduce toxic hexavalent chromium to the less mobile trivalent chromium at a wide range of different environmental conditions and can be useful for the treatment of contaminated wastewater and soils.
