Heat and mass transfer of a circular-shaped porous moist object inside a two-dimensional triangle cavity is investigated by using finite element *** porous object is considered to be a moist food sample,located in the middle of the cavity with inlet and outlet ports with different configurations of inlet/outlet *** drying performance is numerically assessed for different values of Reynolds numbers(between 50 and 250),dry air inlet temperature(between 40 and 80℃)and different locations of the *** is observed that changing the port locations has significant impacts on the flow recirculaitons inside the triangular chamber while convective drying performance is highly *** moisture content reduces with longer time and for higher Reynolds number(Re)*** P4 where inlet and outlet ports are in the middle of the walls provides the most effective configuration in terms of convective drying performance while the worst case is seen for P1 case where inlet and outlet are closer to the corners of the *** is a 192% difference between the moisture reduction of these two cases at Re=250,T=80℃ and t=120 min.

To the editor： Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory, immune-mediated skin disease. Current research suggests that the inflammatory mechanisms are immune-based and maintained primarily by T cells in the dermis） The more common disorders associated with psoriasis are psoriatic arthropathy and inflammatory bowel diseases. It is reported that more than 30% of patients with psoriasis have arthritis which may be accompanied by microscopic inflammatory changes of colonic mucosa even in absence of bowel symptoms.2

Hazardous waste stream needs to be managed so as not to exceed stock-and rate-limited properties of its recipient *** co-pyrolysis of Chinese medicine residue(CMR)and textile dyeing sludge(TDS)and its bio-oil,biochar,and ash quality and quantity were characterized as a function of the immersion of K_(2)CO_(3),atmosphere type,blend ratio,and *** to the mono-pyrolysis of TDS,its co-pyrolysis performance with CMR(the comprehensive performance index(CPI))significantly improved by 33.9%in the N_(2)atmosphere and 33.2%in the CO_(2)*** impregnation catalyzed the co-pyrolysis at 370℃,reduced its activation energy by 77.3 kJ/mol in the N_(2)atmosphere and 134.6 kJ/mol in the CO_(2)atmosphere,and enriched the degree of coke gasification by 44.25%in the CO_(2)*** impregnation increased the decomposition rate of the co-pyrolysis by weakening the bond energy of fatty side chains and bridge bonds,its catalytic and secondary products,and its bio-oil yield by 66.19%.Its bio-oils mainly contained olefins,aromatic structural substances,and *** immersion of K_(2)CO_(3)improved the aromaticity of the copyrolytic biochars and reduced the contact between K and Si which made it convenient for Mg to react with SiO_(2)to form *** co-pyrolytic biochar surfaces mainly included-OH,-CH_(2),C=C,and *** main phases in the co-pyrolytic ash included Ca_(5)(PO_(4))_(3)(OH),Al_(2)O_(3),and magnesium-silicate.

Background: It is crucial to assess the severity of acute cholangitis(AC). There are currently several prognostic markers. However, the accuracies of these markers are not satisfied. The present study aimed to investigate the predictive value of the red cell distribution width(RDW)-to-albumin ratio(RAR) for the prognosis of AC. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated consecutive patients diagnosed with AC between May 2019 and March 2022. RAR was calculated, and its predictive ability for in-hospital mortality, intensive care unit(ICU) admission, bacteremia, and the length of hospitalization were analyzed. Results: Out of 438 patients, 34(7.8%) died. Multivariate analysis showed that malignant etiology [odds ratio(OR) = 4.816, 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.936-11.980], creatinine(OR = 1.649, 95% CI: 1.095-2.484), and RAR(OR = 2.064, 95% CI: 1.494-2.851) were independent risk factors for mortality. When adjusted for relevant covariates, including age, sex, malignant etiology, Tokyo severity grading(TSG), Charlson comorbidity index, and creatinine, RAR significantly predicted mortality(adjusted OR = 1.833, 95% CI: 1.280-2.624). When the cut-off of RAR was set to 3.8, its sensitivity and specificity for mortality were 94.1% and 56.7%, respectively. Patients with an RAR of > 3.8 had a 20.9-fold(OR = 20.9, 95% CI: 4.9-88.6) greater risk of mortality than the remaining patients. The area under the curve value of RAR for mortality was 0.835(95% CI: 0.770-0.901), which was significantly higher than that of TSG and the other prognostic markers, such as C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio, and procalcitonin-to-albumin ratio. Lastly, RAR was not inferior to TSG in predicting ICU admission, bacteremia, and the length of hospitalization. Conclusions: RAR successfully predicted the in-hospital mortality, ICU admission, bacteremia, and the length of hospitalization of patients with AC, especially in-hospital mortality. Automated evaluation of parapapillary choroidal microvasculature in crowded optic discs:a controlled,optical coherence tomography angiography study

AIM:To compare superficial and deep vascular properties of optic discs between crowded discs and controls using optical coherence tomography angiography(OCT-A).METHODS:Thirty patients with crowded discs,and 47 control subjects were enrolled in the *** eye of each individual was included and OCT-A scans of optic discs were obtained in a 4.5×4.5 mm^(2) rectangular *** peripapillary capillary(RPC)density,peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer(pRNFL)thickness,cup volume,rim area,disc area,cup-to-disc(c/d)area ratio,and vertical c/d ratio were obtained automatically using device *** parapapillary choroidal microvasculature(PPCMv)density was calculated using MATLAB *** the vertical c/d ratio of the optic disc was absent or small cup,it was considered as a crowded ***:The mean signal strength index of OCT-A images was similar between the crowded discs and control eyes(P=0.740).There was no difference in pRNFL between the two groups(P=0.102).There were no differences in RPC density in whole image(P=0.826)and peripapillary region(P=0.923),but inside disc RPC density was higher in crowded optic discs(P=0.003).The PPCMv density in the inner-hemisuperior region was also lower in crowded discs(P=0.026).The pRNFL thickness was positively correlated with peripapillary RPC density(r=0.498,P<0.001).The inside disc RPC density was negatively correlated with c/d area ratio(r=-0.341,P=0.002).CONCLUSION:The higher inside disc RPC density and lower inner-hemisuperior PPCMv density are found in eyes with crowded optic discs.

Background/Aims: Determining the levels of oral health and the quality of dental care are fundamental to building concepts of oral health. This study aims to assess toothbrushing techniques using a technical and physical model, clarifying how children and pre-adults learn to brush their teeth. Materials and Methods: Data were recorded from 23 participants, both male and female of various ages, using a proposed electronic toothbrush equipped with X-Y-Z axes pathways. The data, collected before and after training experiments, were processed with MATLAB to generate plots for the three axes. Results: The study revealed that most parameter values, such as Mean Difference Between Amplitudes (MAV, 6.00), Wilson Amplitude (WAMP, 179.419), and Average Amplitude Coupling (AAC, 1.270), decreased from before to after the experiments. Furthermore, the average overall epoch lengths (AVG) showed a 75% reduction in movement amplitude between the two experiments. Conclusion: Dentist observations indicated which brushing methods were acceptable or not. Analytical values suggest that individuals learn the toothbrushing technique effectively, and medical observations clearly demonstrate the success of the proposed method.

Mechanical behavior and permeability properties of sustainable and high-performance anisotropic three-dimensional printable concrete

Three-dimensional printable concrete requires further development owing to the challenges encountered,including its brittle behavior,high cement requirement for the buildability of layers,and anisotropic behavior in different *** aim of this study is to overcome these ***,three-dimensional printable concrete mixtures were prepared using silica fume,ground blast furnace slag,and metakaolin,instead of cement,to reduce the amount of ***,the rheological and mechanical behaviors of these concretes were ***,threedimensional printable concrete mixtures were prepared using 6-mm-long steel and synthetic fibers to eliminate brittleness and determine the effect of those fibers on the anisotropic behavior of the *** a result of this study,it is understood that printable concretes with extremely low permeability and high buildability can be achieved using mineral *** addition,results showed that three-dimensional concrete samples containing short steel fibers achieve fracture energies up to 36 times greater than that of plain ***,its characteristic length values,as indicators of ductility,are 22 times higher than those of plain *** weakest strength was recorded at the interfaces between *** bending and splitting tensile strengths of three-dimensional printed plain concrete samples were 15%and 19%lower than those of casted samples,***,the addition of fibers improved the mechanical strength of the interfaces significantly.
