Water is essential for the growth period of crops;however,water unavailability badly affects the growth and physiological attributes of crops,which considerably reduced the yield and yield components in ***,a pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of foliar phosphorus(P)on morphological,gas exchange,biochemical traits,and phosphorus use efficiency(PUE)of maize(Zea mays L.)hybrids grown under normal as well as water deficit situations at the Department of Agronomy,University of Agriculture Faisalabad,Pakistan in *** different treatments(control and P@8 kg ha^(−1))and four hybrids(Hycorn,31P41,65625,and 32B33)of maize were tested by using a randomized complete block design(RCBD)with three *** showed that the water stress caused a remarkable decline in total soluble protein(9.7%),photosynthetic rate(9.4%)and transpiration rate(13.4%),stomatal conductance(10.2%),and internal CO_(2)rate(20.4%)comparative to well-watered *** increase of 37.1%,36.8%,and 24.5%were recorded for proline,total soluble sugar,and total free amino acid,***,foliar P application minimized the negative impact of drought by improving plant growth,physio-biochemical attributes,and PUE in maize plants under water stress *** the hybrids tested,the hybrid 6525 performed better both under stress and non-stress *** outcomes confirmed that the exogenous application of P improved drought stress tolerance by modulating growth,physio-biochemical attributes,and PUE of maize hybrids.

Ligustroside derived from Ligustrum japonicum inhibits melanogenesis via blocking the MAPK and PKA/CREB signaling pathways

Creation of an oxygen-enriched environment during synthesis as an effective way to improve luminescent properties of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)

The growing demand for luminescent nanomaterials intended for various applications increases the necessity to develop and improve approaches to the creation of highly efficient nanosized *** current study,an approach to enhancing the efficiency of red luminescence of monoclinic Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)with the particle size of~20 nm by creating the oxygen-enriched environment during the gas-phase synthesis was *** investigate the effect of oxygen amount during the synthesis on characteristics of the phosphor,a series of nano structured Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)with the addition of 0-40 vol%O_(2) to the main buffer gas Ar was synthesized by laser *** is shown that the amount of added O_(2) exerts virtually no effect on the phase composition and particle size,but significantly improves the luminescent characteristics of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+).Thus,the addition of 30 vol%O_(2) leads to virtually a 20-fold growth in the photoluminescence(PL)intensity caused by ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(0-4) transitions in Eu^(3+)and an increase in the absolute PL quantum yield from 3%to 53%(λex=395 nm)compared to the sample synthesized without O_(2).The addition of oxygen also improves the emission color coordinates from(0.571,0.320)to(0.630,0.322)due to the removal of a considerable fraction of oxygen *** synthesized nanopowders are shown to be highly stable:upon storage under ambient conditions for two *** yield(QY)of the samples decreases by less than 2%.it is expected that the key features underlying the proposed approach will be useful for various methods used to synthesize oxide nanophosphors.

Arctic sea-ice extent: No record minimum in 2023 or recent years

Arctic sea-ice extent reaches its minimum each year in September. On 11 September 2023 the minimum was 4.969 million square kilometers(***^(2)). This was not a record low, which occurred in 2012, when the minimum was 4.175 ***^(2), 0.794 ***^(2) less than the minimum in 2023. However, the ice extent had decreased by 0.432 ***^(2) compared with 2022. Nevertheless, the summer melting in 2023 was remarkably less than expected when considering the strong heat waves in the atmosphere and ocean, with record temperatures set around the world. in general, there is a high correlation between the long-term decrease in sea-ice extent and the increasing CO_(2) in the atmosphere, where the increase of CO_(2) in recent decades explains about 80% of the decrease in sea ice in September, while the remainder is caused by natural variability.

BACKGROUND: Sepsis is a life-threatening inflammatory condition in which the invading pathogen avoids the host's defense mechanisms and continuously stimulates and damages host cells. Consequently, many immune responses initially triggered for protection become harmful because of the failure to restore homeostasis, resulting in ongoing hyperinflammation and immunosuppression. METHODS: A literature review was conducted to address bacterial sepsis, describe advances in understanding complex immunological reactions, critically assess diagnostic approaches, and emphasize the importance of studying bacterial bottlenecks in the detection and treatment of ***: Diagnosing sepsis via a single laboratory test is not feasible;therefore, multiple key biomarkers are typically monitored, with a focus on trends rather than absolute values. The immediate interpretation of sepsis-associated clinical signs and symptoms, along with the use of specific and sensitive laboratory tests, is crucial for the survival of patients in the early stages. However, long-term mortality associated with sepsis is now recognized, and alongside the progression of this condition, there is an in vivo selection of adapted ***: Bacterial sepsis remains a significant cause of mortality across all ages and societies. While substantial progress has been made in understanding the immunological mechanisms underlying the inflammatory response, there is growing recognition that the ongoing host-pathogen interactions, including the emergence of adapted virulent strains, shape both the acute and long-term outcomes in sepsis. This underscores the urgent need for novel high-throughput diagnostic methods and a shift toward more pre-emptive, rather than reactive, treatment strategies in sepsis care.

Mechanical behavior and permeability properties of sustainable and high-performance anisotropic three-dimensional printable concrete

Three-dimensional printable concrete requires further development owing to the challenges encountered,including its brittle behavior,high cement requirement for the buildability of layers,and anisotropic behavior in different *** aim of this study is to overcome these ***,three-dimensional printable concrete mixtures were prepared using silica fume,ground blast furnace slag,and metakaolin,instead of cement,to reduce the amount of ***,the rheological and mechanical behaviors of these concretes were ***,threedimensional printable concrete mixtures were prepared using 6-mm-long steel and synthetic fibers to eliminate brittleness and determine the effect of those fibers on the anisotropic behavior of the *** a result of this study,it is understood that printable concretes with extremely low permeability and high buildability can be achieved using mineral *** addition,results showed that three-dimensional concrete samples containing short steel fibers achieve fracture energies up to 36 times greater than that of plain ***,its characteristic length values,as indicators of ductility,are 22 times higher than those of plain *** weakest strength was recorded at the interfaces between *** bending and splitting tensile strengths of three-dimensional printed plain concrete samples were 15%and 19%lower than those of casted samples,***,the addition of fibers improved the mechanical strength of the interfaces significantly.

identifying anthropogenic and natural causes of wildfires by maximum entropy method-based ignition susceptibility distribution models

Turkey has a high potential for wildfires along its Mediterranean coast because of its dense forest cover and mild *** average of 250 wildfires occurs every year with more than 10,000 hectares destroyed due to natural and human-related *** study area is sensitive to fires caused by lightning,stubble burning,discarded cigarette butts,electric arcing from power lines,deliberate fire setting,and traffic ***,52%of causes could not be identified due to intense wildfires occurring at the same time and insufficient equipment and *** wildfires destroy forest cover,ecosystems,biodiversity,and habitats,they should be spatially evaluated by separating them according to their causes,considering environmental,climatic,topographic and forest structure variables that trigger *** this study,wildfires caused by lightning,the burning of agriculture stubble,discarded cigarette butts and power lines were investigated in the provinces of Aydin,Mugla and Antalya,where 22%of Turkey’s wildfires *** MaxEnt method was used to determine the spatial distribution of wildfires to identify risk zones for each *** were used as the species distribution and the probability of their occurrence ***,since the causes of many wildfires are unknown,determining the causes is important for fire prediction and *** highest wildfire occurrence risks were 9.7%for stubble burning,30.2%for lightning,4.5%for power lines and 16.9%by discarded cigarette *** total,1,266 of the 1,714 unknown wildfire causes were identified by the analysis of the cause-based risk zones and these were updated by including cause-as signed unknown wildfire locations for *** a result,the Area under the ROC Curve(AUC)values were increased for susceptibility maps.

Resistance Spot Weldability of Dissimilar Materials: BH180-AiSi304L Steels and BH180-iF7123 Steels

in this study, resistance spot weldability of 180 grade bake hardening steel （BH180）, 7123 grade interstitial free steel （iF7123） and 304 grade austenitic stainless steel （AiSi304L） with each other was investigated. in the joining process, electrode pressure and weld current were kept constant and six different weld time were chosen. Microstructure, microhardness, tensile-shear properties and fracture types of resistance spot welded joints were examined. in order to characterize the metallurgical structure of the welded joint, the microstructural profile was developed, and the relationship between mechanical properties and microstructure was determined. The change of weld time, nugget diameter, the HAZ （heat affected zone） width and the electrode immersion depth were also investigated. Welded joints were examined by SEM （scanning electron microscopy） images of fracture surface. As a result of the experiment, it was determined that with increasing weld time, tensile shear load bearing capacity （TLBC） increased with weld time up to 25 cycle and two types of tearing occurred. it was also determined that while the failure occurred from iF side at the BHiS0＋iF7123 joint, it occurred from the BH180 side at the BHiS0＋AiSi304L joint.

Effect of solid waste materials on properties of magnesium matrix composites-A systematic review

The need for light and high specific strength materials in many fields such as automotive and aerospace is increasing day by ***(Mg)-based materials have become attractive for many industries thanks to their high specific strength, good vibration damping ability, and recyclability. However, Mg’s low strength and wear resistance are important barriers limiting its industrial use. Researchers are developing Mg matrix composites using various reinforcements and expanding the use of Mg-based materials. The conventional reinforcements are Al2O3, SiC, B4C, TiB2, CNT, and GNPs for the production of Mg matrix composites. Researchers have been trying to reduce the cost of Mg matrix composites in recent years by using cheaper and environmentally friendly reinforcements. These reinforcements are solid wastes such as eggshell, fly ash, red mud, and waste glass, and their use in composite systems is becoming more common day by day. This review focuses on the Mg matrix composites reinforced with solid waste particles and the changes in wear, mechanical, corrosion, and thermal properties with the addition of these reinforcements.
