The Effect of Luteal-Phase Support with Triptrolin Administration on Implantation and Clinical Pregnancy Rate in Assisted Reproductive Technology

Background: Luteal phase support with GnRH agonist administration has been shown to be effective in improving the outcome of assisted reproductive technology. The goal of this study was to evaluate the effect of single dose Triptrolin (a GnRH agonist) on the probability of the clinical pregnancy rate following embryo transfer (ET) in assisted reproductive techniques (ART). Methods: In this double blinded randomized clinical trial, 340 infertile women who were candidates for intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) were randomly assigned to receive GnRH agonist (Triptrolin) in the luteal phase or placebo. In the intervention group, 0.1 mg Triptrolin was injected subcutaneously, while the control group received normal saline. The clinical pregnancy and implantation rate were compared between the two groups using chi-2 and t-test. P-values less than 0.05 were considered significant. The registration number of this clinical trial is IRCT 2014030916912N1. Results: Administration of 0.1 mg Triptrolin on day 6 after oocyte pick up showed no superiority over placebo in implantation (16.9% - 14%, P = 0.40) and clinical pregnancy rates (32% - 29%, P = 0.66), but the rate of clinical pregnancy was higher in women who were below 27 years of age and those with PCO. Conclusion: Administration of Triptrolin was not superior to placebo for luteal phase support.

Pedestrian flow through narrow exits is one the most important features of crowd dynamics and *** is a particularly important aspect of pedestrian simulation models in that the accuracy is highly dependent on their ability to produce realistic exit flow *** firstly identified the four parameters that are most critical for physical interactions of the social force model and then calibrated them against two well-controlled pedestrian *** these calibrated parameters,we discussed the reasonable settings of sensitive parameters for different levels of pedestrian ***,we revisited the basic questions about the effect of the exit location,the bottleneck length,and the effect of obstacles on pedestrian *** simulation results indicated that:(1)The effect of the exit location on the pedestrian egress efficiency is uncertain,and the evacuation efficiency is also related to the exit width and the level of urgency.(2)The"pass-way"after the exit also named as the bottleneck length has a negative impact on the evacuation performance only in the scenarios that the bottleneck length is not more than 2.0 *** the bottleneck length exceeds 2.0 meters,pedestrian outflow efficiency reaches an asymptotic.(3)Setting an obstacle near an exit is not leading to a longer pedestrian evacuation time,instead,it is effectively improving pedestrian evacuation.

A modern congestion pricing policy for urban traffic:subsidy plus toll

Congestion pricing is seen as an effective policy to address traffic congestion. In such policies where money, people and authorities are involved, the success generally hinges upon two factors： equity （being fair） and accept- ability （to both people and authorities）. The primary con- cern is the equity, for which ＂tradable credit scheme （TCS）＂ has been introduced and extensively studied in the literature. Nevertheless, due to the com- plexity of the trading schemes, the TCS has yet to find any foot in the real world. To this end, a novel idea of rewarding has substituted the trading component to be known as toll-and-subsidy scheme （TSS）. The idea is to charge the drivers on some roads （toll） while rewarding them to use other alternative--and perhaps underutilized-- roads （subsidy）. The research of the TSS is in its infancy stage. The problem to be tackled in this study is as follows： Given a set of roads constituting a cordon line around the central business district （CBD） or across a screen line, how much toll or subsidy should be assigned to each road？ The problem is first transformed into a capacitated traffic assignment problem. We employ a solution method based on augmenting the travel time of roads up to the level at which the traffic volumes do not exceed some target rates. A real dataset from the city of Winnipeg, Canada, is used as a pilot study. We then discuss policy-related applications of the TSS. It is proved in the literature that one can obtainoptimal TSSs for various objectives and considerations. To this end, the non-negativity of the toll values is relaxed which results in a valid toll set. Nevertheless, the compu- tational time is found to be of highest significance. Our method differs in the fact that the traffic volumes are bounded from the above and it is quite affordable. Using Kalman filter algorithm for short-term traffic flow prediction in a connected vehicle environment

We develop a Kalman filter for predicting traffic flow at urban arterials based on data obtained from con-nected vehicles. The proposed algorithm is computationally efficient and offers a real-time prediction since it invokes the connected vehicle data just before the prediction period. Moreover, it can predict the traffic flow for various pene-tration rates of connected vehicles (the ratio of the number of connected vehicles to the total number of vehicles). At first, the Kalman filter equations are calibrated using data derived from Vissim traffic simulator for different penetra-tion rates, different fluctuating arrival rates of vehicles and various signal settings. Then the filter is evaluated for a variety of traffic scenarios generated in Vissim simulator. We evaluate the performance of the algorithm for different penetration rates under several traffic situations using some statistical measures. Although many of the previous pre-diction methods depend highly on data from fixed sensors (i.e., loop detectors and video cameras), which are associ-ated with huge installation and maintenance costs, this study provides a low-cost mean for short-term flow prediction only based on the connected vehicle data.

Path sets size,model specification,or model estimation:Which one matters most in predicting stochastic user equilibrium traffic flow?

This study aims to make an objective comparative analysis between the relative significance of three crucial modelling aspects involved in the probabilistic analysis of transport networks. The first question to address is the extent to which the size of generated path sets can affect the prediction of the static flow in the path-based traffic assignment paradigm. The importance of this question arises from the fact that the need to generate a large quantity of paths may be perceived by analysts as a preventative reason as to the application of path-based stochastic traffic assignment （STA） models for large-scale networks. A simulated path generation algorithm, which allows the number of generated paths to be under modeller＇s control, is applied. Findings show that the size of the generated path sets does not substantially affect the flow prediction outcome in this case study. Further investigations with respect to the relative importance of STA model estimation （or equivalently, parameter calibration） and model specification （or equivalently, error term formulation） are also conducted. A paired combinatorial logit （PCL） assignment model with an origin-destination-specific-parameter, along with a heuristic method of model estimation （calibration）, is proposed. The proposed model cannot only accommodate the correlation between path utilities, but also accounts for the fact that travelling between different origin-destination （O-D） pairs can correspond to different levels of stochasticity and choice randomness. Results suggest that the estimation of the stochastic user equilibrium （SUE） models can affect the outcome of the flow prediction far more meaningfuUy than the complexitv of the choice model （i.e.. model specification）.

A neural network algorithm for queue length estimation based on the concept of k-leader connected vehicles

This paper presents a novel method to estimate queue length at signalised intersections using connected vehicle(CV)*** proposed queue length estimation method does not depend on any conventional information such as arrival flow rate and parameters pertaining to traffic signal *** model is applicable for real-time applications when there are sufficient training data available to train the estimation *** this end,we propose the idea of “k-leader CVs” to be able to predict the queue which is propagated after the communication range of dedicated short-range communication(the communication platform used in CV system).The idea of k-leader CVs could reduce the risk of communication failure which is a serious concern in CV ***,a linear regression model is applied to weigh the importance of input variables to be used in a neural network *** traffic simulator is employed to train and evaluate the effectiveness and robustness of the model under different travel demand conditions,a varying number of CVs(***'market penetration rate)as well as various traffic signal control *** it is expected,when the market penetration rate increases,the accuracy of the model enhances *** a congested traffic condition(saturated flow),the proposed model is more accurate compared to the undersaturated condition with the same market penetration *** the proposed method does not depend on information of the arrival pattern and traffic signal control parameters,the results of the queue length estimation are still comparable with the results of the methods that highly depend on such *** proposed algorithm is also tested using large size data from a CV test bed(*** Integrated Multimodal Ecosystem)currently underway in Melbourne,*** simulation results show that the model can perform well irrespective of the intersection layouts,traffic signal plans and arrival patterns of ***

Identifying Achilles-heel roads in real-sized networks

Ensuring a minimum operational level of road networks in the presence of unexpected incidents is becoming a hot subject in academic circles as well as industry. To this end, it is important to understand the degree to which each single element of the network contributes to the operation and performance of a network. In other words, a road can become an ＂Achilles-heel＂ for the entire network if it is closed due to a simple incident. Such insight of the detrimental loss of the closure of the roads would help us to be more vigilant and prepared. In this study, we develop an index dubbed as Achilles-heel index to quantify detrimental loss of the closure of the respective roads. More precisely, the Achilles-heel index indicates how many drivers are affected by the closure of the respective roads （the number of affected drivers is also called travel demand coverage）. To this end,roads with maximum travel demand coverage are sorted as the most critical ones, for which a method known as ＂link analysis＂--is adopted. In an iterative process, first, a road with highest traffic volume is first labeled as ＂target link,＂ and second, a portion of travel demand which is captured by the target link is excluded from travel demand. For the next iteration, the trimmed travel demand is then assigned to the network where all links including the target links run on the initial travel times. The process carries on until all links are labeled. The proposed methodology is applied to a large- sized network of Winnipeg, Canada. The results shed light on also bottleneck points of the network which may warrant provision of additional capacity or parallel roads.

Cattle toxoplasmosis in Iran:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective:To analyze and review the overall seroprevalence rate of Toxoplasma gondii(***) infection in cattle from ***:In the current study,data collection(published and unpublished papers,abstracts of national scientific congresses and dissertations) using particular terms was carried out systematically on the following electronic databases like PubMed,Google Scholar,Ebsco,Science Direct,Scopus,Magiran,Irandoc,IranMedex and SID(Scientific Information Database).Results:A total of 22 studies since 1983 to 2012 reporting the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in cattle from different regions of Iran met our eligibility *** pooled proportion of toxoplasmosis,using random effect model,among cattle in Iran from over the 30-year period was estimated 18.1%(95%CI:9.9%to 28.2%).Conclusions:This study firstly establishes a crude seroprevalence rate of Toxoplasma infection in cattle which can lead us to understand the condition of eattle toxoplasmosis,which have to take into accounted fur an appropriate and effective prevention and ***,it compares and discusses elaborately the role of risk factors including sex,age and breed in the epidemiology of the ***,it determines gaps and drawbacks in the prior studies which are greatly useful to design more accurate investigations in the future.

Birds and poultries toxoplasmosis in Iran: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective: To evaluate the overall prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection among birds and poultries in Iran. Methods: Data were systematically collected from 1983 to 2016 in Iran on the following electronic databases: Pub Med, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, Magiran, Irandoc, Iran Medex, and Scientific Information Database. Additionally, the abstracts of national scientific congresses and dissertations were included. Results: A total of 20 articles in the field of birds and poultries toxoplasmosis, totally examining 4 563 cases with 754 positive results reporting the overall prevalence of infection from all parts of Iran could fulfill our eligibility criteria. The overall estimated prevalence included in chicken 20%(95% CI: 3% to 38%) in chicken, pigeons 8%(95% CI:-17% to 33%) and in sparrows 15%(95% CI:-25% to 54%). Conclusion: Although there is a lack in data about poultries and birds toxoplasmosis in Iran, our meta-analysis revealed that infection rate is high among birds and poultries in Iran. More studies are needed to manage controlling programs and prevention strategies among poultries in Iran.
