Rapid detection of coliforms in drinking water of Arak city using multiplex PCR method in comparison with the standard method of culture(Most probably Number)

Objective:To analyse molecular detection of coliforms and shorten the time of ***:Rapid detection of coliforms by amplification of lacZ and uidA genes in a multiplex PCR reaction was designed and performed in comparison with most probably number(MPN)method for 16 artificial and 101 field *** molecular method was also conducted on isolated coliforms from positive MPN samples;standard sample for verification of microbial method certificated reference material;isolated strains from certificated reference material and standard *** PCR and electrophoresis parameters were changed for reducing the operation ***:Results of PCR for lacZ and uidA genes were similar in all of standard,operational and artificial samples and showed the 876 bp and 147 bp bands of lacZ and uidA genes by multiplex *** results were confirmed by MPN culture method by sensitivity 86%(95%CI:0.71-0.93).Also the total execution time,with a successful change of factors,was reduced to less than two and a half ***:Multiplex PCR method with shortened operation time was used for the simultaneous detection of total coliforms and Escherichia coli in distribution system of Arak ***'s recommended to be used at least as an initial screening test,and then the positive samples could be randomly tested by MPN.

Herein,we report a green and facile preparation and characterization procedure of copper nanoparticles stabilized on magnetically separable sodium alginate support(Cu NPs-Fe_(3)O_(4)-SAlg)using Silybum marianum seeds extract and investigate their catalytic reductive chemistry for reduction of environmental ***,the phytochemical content of the plant extract are responsible to biosynthesis of copper(Cu)nanoparticles and their stabilization by functionalizing the surface of magnetic *** of the biocatalyst was undertaken with FT-IR,XPS,XRD and STEM equipped with EDS.A standard suite of model compounds on which the reductive chemistry was tested were 4-nitrophenol(4-NP),potassium hexacyanoferrate(K3[Fe(CN)6]),and a variety of organic dyes including Congo Red(CR).The as-synthesized Cu NPs-Fe_(3)O_(4)-SAlg catalyst was highly effective in reducing 4-NP to 4-aminophenol in water and in the presence of sodium borohydride as a reducing ***,a high reduction performance was observed with CR and K3[Fe(CN)6]in presence of the Cu NPs-Fe_(3)O_(4)-SAlg *** catalyst acted within 190 and 35 s respectively,at room temperature in the presence of ***,the Cu NPs-Fe_(3)O_(4)-SAlg catalyst is a highly efficient catalyst which is also reusable due to its magnetic *** work reports a green synthesis of a high-performance Cu NPs-Fe_(3)O_(4)-SAlg catalyst using an environmental friendly method for reduction of 4-NP,CR,and K3[Fe(CN)6]over a short time.

A critical state based thermo-elasto-plastic constitutive model for structured clays

In this paper, a critical state based thermo-elasto-plastic constitutive model is developed for destructured, naturally structured and artificially structured saturated clays. The model is an extension of the previously developed thermo-mechanical model by the authors for saturated clays, considering the effects of structure on the mechanical behaviors of the soil. It is based on change in the position of normal consolidation line(NCL) in a compression plane(e-ln p′) due to the soil’s structure and variation of temperature. The present model is able to simulate the mechanical behavior of structured saturated clays in a triaxial plane at elevated temperatures lower than the boiling point of water. An attempt has been made to use the lowest possible number of parameters compared with that of Came Clay model and to ensure that these new parameters have clear physical interpretations. The sufficiency of the model was verified by the test results on artificially and naturally structured soils using thermal triaxial tests.

This work describes an accurate and effective method for numerically solving a class of nonlinear fractional differential *** start the method,we equivalently convert these types of differential equations to nonlinear fractional Volterra integral equations of the second kind by integrating from both sides of ***,the solution of the mentioned Volterra integral equations can be estimated using the collocation method based on locally supported Gaussian *** local Gaussian-collocation scheme estimates the unknown function utilizing a small set of data instead of all points in the solution domain,so the proposed method uses much less computer memory and volume computing in comparison with global *** apply the composite non-uniform Gauss-Legendre quadrature formula to estimate singular-fractional integrals in the *** of the fact that the proposed scheme requires no cell structures on the domain,it is a meshless ***,we obtain the error analysis of the proposed method and demon-strate that the convergence rate of the approach is arbitrarily *** examples clearly show the reliability and efficiency of the new technique and confirm the theoretical error estimates.

Evaluation on Properties of CaO-BaO-B_2O_3-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 Glass-Ceramic Sealants for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

To develop suitable sealants for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells （IT-SOFC）, glass-ceramics based on the CaO-BaO-B203-AI203-Si02 system were studied. Coefficient of thermal expansion （CTE）, glass transition temperature （Tg） and dilatometric softening point temperature （Td） of specimens were determined by means of dilatometer analysis and crystallization temperature was measured by differential thermal analysis （DTA）. Also, crystallization behavior during prolonged heat-treatment and microstructure properties were studied by means of X-ray diffraction （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, respectively. Electrical properties were measured at different temperatures, and the results showed a high resistance （〉104 Ω） at the SOFC operation temperature （600-800 ℃）. Moreover, mechanical properties of heat-treated specimens （1, 10, 30, 50 h） were measured, Microstructure investigation revealed a well-adhered bonding between the sealant glass-ceramic electrolyte and glass.

Open visitation in the NICU:nurses’perspectives on barriers and facilitators

Objective:This study aimed to investigate the nurses’perspectives on open family visitation and its barriers and facilitators in neonatal intensive care units(NICUs).Methods:This is a descriptive,cross-sectional study.A total of 113 nurses employed in 3 main NICUs of Tabriz participated in the study through the census sampling ***’perspectives on open visitation and its facilitators and barriers were assessed and analyzed using the Beliefs and Attitudes toward Visitation in NICU Questionnaire(BAVNIQ)and descriptive and analytical statistics,***:Approximately 74%of the nurses who participating in the study had a moderate perspective on open *** the nurses’viewpoint,“Parents’low awareness of sensitivity and hygienic principles of the NICU”was the first(90.3%)barrier,and the 2 factors,namely,“physical structure of the ward/lack of sufficient space”and“far distance between family’s residence and the hospital/having another child,”were the second(86.8%)barrier with an equal *** the facilitating factors,“Supporting employed parents during the neonate’s hospitalization”and“providing facilities for family accommodation in the hospital”were the first(82.3%)and the second(79.6%)facilitators,respectively,for open ***:The majority of NICU nurses had a moderate perspective on the family open *** reluctance seems to be originated mainly from the factors inhibiting open visitation,making its implementation challenging for *** perspective of the frontline staff in caring for vulnerable infants on facilitators and barriers to open visitation may help policymakers,managers,and relevant officials in decision-making and implementing new visiting policies in the NICUs.

Canopy cover or remotely sensed vegetation index,explanatory variables of above-ground biomass in an arid rangeland,Iran

Estimation of above-ground biomass is vital for understanding ecological processes. Since direct measurement of above-ground biomass is destructive, time consuming and labor intensive, canopy cover can be considered as a predictor if a significant correlation between the two variables exists. In this study, relationship between canopy cover and above-ground biomass was investigated by a general linear regression model. To do so, canopy cover and above-ground biomass were measured at 5 sub-life forms（defined as life forms grouped in the same height classes） using 380 quadrats, which is systematic-randomly laid out along a 10-km transect, during four sampling periods（May, June, August, and September） in an arid rangeland of Marjan, Iran. To reveal whether obtained canopy cover and above-ground biomass of different sampling periods can be lumped together or not, we applied a general linear model（GLM）. In this model, above-ground biomass was considered as a dependent or response variable, canopy cover as an independent covariate or predictor factor and sub-life forms as well as sampling periods as fixed factors. Moreover, we compared the estimated above-ground biomass derived from remotely sensed images of Landsat-8 using NDVI（normalized difference vegetation index）, after finding the best regression line between predictor（measured canopy cover in the field） and response variable（above-ground biomass） to test the robustness of the induced model. Results show that above-ground biomass（response variable） of all vegetative forms and periods can be accurately predicted by canopy cover（predictor）, although sub-life forms and sampling periods significantly affect the results. The best regression fit was found for short forbs in September and shrubs in May, June and August with R^2 values of 0.96, 0.93 and 0.91, respectively, whilst the least significant was found for short grasses in June, tall grasses in August and tall forbs in June with R^2 values of 0.71, 0.73 and 0.75, r

A hydrochemical and Dye-tracing Investigation in the Posht-e-Naz Karstic Aquifer,Alburz Mountain,Northern Iran

A hydrochemical and tracer study （uranine injection） was conducted in Jurassic limestone of the Posht-e-Naz area in the Alborz belt to evaluate hydraulic relations between a large diameter （about 100m） sinkhole and springs and aquifer parameters. A main goal of the project was to find out the source of turbidity of the Emarate drinking water supply spring （SP4） in rainy season. Springs discharge were measured and hydrochemical investigation were carried out. The uranine tracer was injected and eight springs, three wells and the Neka River were selected and totally 989 samples in 107 days were collected. Hydrochemical data demonstrated a relative connection between sinkhole （Shl） and spring （SP4）. The results of the tracing by sampling water indicated only a hydraulic connection between Sange- Nou spring （SP8） and injection point, while the charcoal packets analysis revealed tracer exits from spring numbers SP1, SP3, SP4, SP5, SP8, in wells W1 and W2, and in the Neka River. The concentration - time curves of charcoal packets for qualitative analysis and exit tracer for quantitative analysis is also assessed.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Hemoheal cream,an anti-hemorrhoid herbal preparation,(inspired by Persian medicine literatures in a double-blind,randomized placebo-controlled ***:Hemoheal cream consists of aqueous extract of Allium ampeloprasum L.,Commiphora mukul(*** Stocks)Engl and the oil of Sesamum indicum ***-two patients with symptomatic hemorrhoids were randomized to receive hemoheal cream or placebo for 3 *** patients were evaluated before and after the intervention in terms of the severity of anal irritation,bleeding,anal itching,pain,defecation discomfort and swelling sense,and overall subjective improvement(%),as well as any reported adverse ***:The results showed that after 3 weeks of treatment,distribution of anal irritation,bleeding,pain as well as swelling sense were significantly different(P0.05).Furthermore,a significant difference was observed between the overall subjective improvement of Hemoheal cream and placebo groups(P=0.012).One patient in the treatment group complained of rashes on the application ***:The present study showed a positive effect of Hemoheal cream in improving clinical signs and symptoms in patients with hemorrhoids.

Magnetic and Heat Resistant Poly(imide-ether) Nanocomposites Derived from Methyl Rich 9H-xanthene: Synthesis and Characterization

In this study a new series of magnetic and heat resistant nanocomposites were prepared based on a highly soluble poly（imideether）（PIE） reinforced with two different types of magnetic nanoparticles via a solution intercalation technique. New PIE with good solubility and desired molar mass containing bulky xanthene rings and amide groups in the side chains was synthesized via thermal cyclization of the poly（amic acid） precursor, obtained from the reaction of a new diamine derived from 9H-xanthene and 4,4＇- oxydiphthalic dianhydride （ODPA）. Improved solubility was attributed to the presence of xanthene group and flexible ether linkage in the polyimide backbones that reduce the chain-chain interaction and enhance solubility by penetrating solvent molecules into the polyimide chains. Fe3O4 nanoparticles （MNPs） which synthesized from chemical co-precipitation route were coated with silica （SiO2）, sequentially with （3-aminopropyl）triethoxysilane and poly-melamine-terephthaldehyde （MNPs-PMT）, and then separately dispersed in the poly（amic acid） solutions and thermally imidized to form PIE/Fe3O4 and PIE/MNPs-PMT nanocomposites. The nanostructures and properties of the resultant materials were investigated using FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM）, thermal gravimetric analysis （TGA） and differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）. The properties of the nanocomposites were strongly related to the dispersion and interaction between the nanoparticles and PIE matrix. The thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） results showed that the addition of MNPs-PMT nanoparticles resulted in a substantial increase in the thermal stability of the corresponding PIEN. The temperature at 10% weight loss （T10） was increased from 416℃to 428℃ for PIEN containing 3 wt% MNPs-PMT as compared to neat PIE, as well the char yield enhanced.
