Experimental investigation on freeze-thaw durability of polymer concrete

Assessing the durability of concrete is of prime importance to provide an adequate service life and reduce the repairing cost of ***-thaw is one such test that indicates the ability of concrete to last a long time without a significant loss in its *** this study,the freeze-thaw resistance of polymer concrete containing different polymer contents was explored and compared to various conventional cement ***’fresh and hardened properties were assessed for their workability,air content,and compressive *** mass loss,length change,dynamic modulus of elasticity,and residual compressive strength were determined for all types of concretes subjected to freeze-thaw cycles according to ASTM C666-procedure *** showed that polymer concrete(PC)specimens prepared with higher dosages of polymer contents possessed better freeze-thaw durability compared to other *** high durability performance of PCs is mainly due to their impermeable microstructures,absence of water in their structure,and the high bond strength between aggregates and a polymer *** is also indicated that the performance of high-strength concrete containing air-entraining admixture is comparable with PC having optimum polymer content in terms of residual compressive strength,dynamic modulus of elasticity,mass loss,and length change.

Iran is known as an endemic country for hepatitis E virus(HEV) infection, while there are variations in the epidemiology of HEV infection throughout the country. The available epidemiological studies in different regions of Iran show HEV seroprevalence of 1.1%-14.2% among general population, 4.5%-14.3% among blood donors, 6.1%-22.8% among injecting drug users, 6.3%-28.3% among hemodialysis patients, 1.6%-11.3% among patients infected with other hepatitis viruses, 27.5% among patients with chronic liver disease, 30.8% among kidney transplant recipient patients, and 10%-16.4% among human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients. These variations reflect differences in the status of public health and hygiene, risk factors, and routes of transmission in different regions and groups. Therefore, it is necessary to review the epidemiology of HEV infection to determine the most prevalent risk factors and routes of transmission, and to evaluate the effectiveness of preventive strategies employed in the public health services of the country. Moreover, the other epidemiological aspects of HEV, including the genotypic pattern, extra hepatic manifestations, and incidence of chronic infection need to be investigated among Iranian population to expand the current knowledge on the epidemiology of HEV and to clarify the real burden of HEV infection. Therefore, this review was performed to provide a general overview regarding the epidemiology of HEV in Iran.

A construction of multiple knot B-spline wavelets has been given in[*** and ***,Wavelet on a bounded interval,In:*** and ***,*** methods of approximation ***:Birkhauser Verlag;(1992),pp.57–76].In this work,we first modify these wavelets to solve the elliptic(partially)Dirichlet boundary value problems by Galerkin and Petrov Galerkin *** generalize this construction to two dimensional case by Tensor product *** addition,the solution of the system discretized by Galerkin method with modified multiple knot B-spline wavelets is *** also consider a nonlinear partial differential equation for unsteady flows in an open channel called *** the solving of this problem by some methods such as finite difference and finite element produce unsuitable approximations specially in the ends of channel,it is solved by multiple knot B-spline wavelet method that yields a very well ***,some numerical examples are given to support our theoretical results.

The present work describes similarity solution to a general scheme for the wall jet flow of nanofluids,accounting both the similarity branches(say upper and lower),allowed with respect to the suction and moving wall conditions in the context of Glauert type *** proceeding with this,a spatial stability analysis is performed to check the stability of the similarity *** indicated that the upper similarity branch is possibly stable;whilst,the lower branch is not likely to reside in actual *** governing transport equations of mass and energy subject to a general two-phase modeling framework were transformed into similarity *** involved equations were then solved numerically employing the standard 4th order Runge-Kutta together with shooting *** influence of the involved parameters is shown graphically and in a detailed *** the last section,it is presented closed-form algebraic solution to the energy equation for the base fluids with a general convective boundary condition.

In this study, we developed a SEIR model, including social interactions and individualhuman mobility in everyday activities. For this purpose, daily mobility of people wasconsidered by using the molecular dynamic method and the virus spreading was modeledemploying the ordinary SEIR scheme. Utilizing this model, the variation of populationsize, density, and health strategy as well as the effect of busy places such as malls,were considered. The results show that our flexible model is able to consider the effectsof different parameters such as distance between peoples, local population density andhealth strategy in the outbreak.
