Duchenne muscular dystrophy is an X-linked recessive hereditary monogenic disorder caused by inability to produce dystrophin *** most patients,the expression of dystrophin lost due to disrupting mutations in open reading *** the efforts in a large number of different therapeutic approaches to date,the treatments available for DMD remain mitigative and supportive to improve the symptoms of the disease,rather than to be *** advent of CRISPR/Cas9 technology has revolutionized genome editing scope and considered as pioneer in effective genomic *** or excisions of intragenic DNA by CRISPR as well as a similar strategy with exon skipping at the DNA level induced by antisense oligonucleotides,are new and promising approaches in correcting DMD gene,which restore the expression of a truncated but functional dystrophin ***,CRISPR/Cas9 technology can be used to treat DMD by removing duplicated exons,precise correction of causative mutation by HDR-based pathway and inducing the expression of compensatory proteins such as *** this study,we briefly explained the molecular genetics of DMD and a historical overview of DMD gene *** in particular focused on CRISPR/Cas9-mediated therapeutic approaches that used to treat DMD.

Phonocardiogram (PCG), the digital recording of heart sounds is becoming increasingly popular as a primary detection system for diagnosing heart disorders and it is relatively inexpensive. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is used during the PCG in order to identify the systolic and diastolic parts manually. In this study a heart sound segmentation algorithm has been developed which separates the heart sound signal into these parts automatically. This study was carried out on 100 patients with normal and abnormal heart sounds. The algorithm uses discrete wavelet decomposition and reconstruction to produce PCG intensity envelopes and separates that into four parts: the first heart sound, the systolic period, the second heart sound and the diastolic period. The performance of the algorithm has been evaluated using 14,000 cardiac periods from 100 digital PCG recordings, including normal and abnormal heart sounds. In tests, the algorithm was over 93% correct in detecting the first and second heart sounds. The presented automatic segmentation algorithm using wavelet decomposition and reconstruction to select suitable frequency band for envelope calculations has been found to be effective to segment PCG signals into four parts without using an ECG.

Background: Encephalocele is defined as the externalization of brain tissue and/or meninges out of the skull through a congenital bone defect. It’s a rare congenital malformation with a high risk of mortality and morbidity. Unfortunately, Prenatal diagnostic is still rare. Aims: The aim is to describe the main characteristic of this malformation and the optimal management to improve the prognosis. Case Presentation: we report the case of 32-year-old women diagnosed at 34 weeks gestation with a live fetus with occipital encephalocele. Conclusion: Through this case and the review of the literature we will highlight the diagnostic sources in order to improve the diagnosis and the management.

Background: Distraction Osteogenesis is popular for long bones. And nowadays it has found its role in facial bone deficiency treatments. Purpose: We used our special designed Distractor for advancement of Maxillary deficiencies in cleft lip and palate patients. The purpose of this paper is to compare the treatment of hypoplastic, posteriorly retruded maxillary of cleft palate patients using distraction osteogenesis vs. Le fort I orthognathic surgery for length of advancement, stability and relapse, growth after distraction and soft tissue expansion and soft tissue profile changes. Meterial & Methods: In group A only Le fort I and surgical maxillary advancement sometimes with bone graft were done. In group B we used our special Distractor for Distraction Osteogenesis and advancement of the Maxillary bone. Demographic data, length of retrusion of maxilla, time length of treatment, length of advancement and relapse, SNA and SNB angles were measured and included in the study. The results were compared in each group before and after advancement and between both groups. The rate of distraction was 0.5 mm twice per day to achieve normal occlusion with 2 mm overcorrection more than calculated measures. The devices removed after 10 weeks as latency period. Results: The SNA increased at the end of distraction (p 10 mm) we recommend Distraction Osteogenesis, and it preferred to start it soon in younger ages.

Introduction and evaluation of a novel hybrid brattice for improved dust control in underground mining faces: A computational study

A proper control and management of dust dispersion is essential to ensure safe and productive underground working environment. Brattice installation to direct the flow from main shaft to the mining face was found to be the most effective method to disperse dust particle away from the mining face. However,it limits the movement and disturbs the flexibility of the mining fleets and operators at the tunnel. This study proposes a hybrid brattice system- a combination of a physical brattice together with suitable and flexible directed and located air curtains- to mitigate dust dispersion from the mining face and reduce dust concentration to a safe level for the working operators. A validated three-dimensional computational fluid dynamic model utilizing Eulerian–Lagrangian approach is employed to track the dispersion of dust particle. Several possible hybrid brattice scenarios are evaluated with the objective to improve dust management in underground mine. The results suggest that implementation of hybrid brattice is beneficial for the mining operation: up to three times lower dust concentration is achieved as compared to that of the physical brattice without air curtain.

Study of reverse osmosis membranes fouling by inorganic salts and colloidal particles during seawater desalination

Fouling phenomenon is considered among the major reasons that cause significant increase of operating cost of desalination plants equipped with reverse osmosis(RO)*** phenomenon is studied in the present work in the case of RO polyamide aromatic membranes using model seawater containing inorganic salts and colloidal *** solubility conditions of CaCO3 and CaSO4 were applied to study RO performances with and without colloid *** experiments,the membrane permeate fluxes were continuously ***,studies of chemical composition,structure,and morphology of the materials deposited on the membrane surface were conducted using energy dispersive microanalysis(EDS)X-ray diffraction and scanning electronic microscopy(SEM).Results show that in conditions of calcium carbonate oversaturation there is a reduction in the permeate flow of 11.2%due to fouling of the membrane by the precipitation of this *** in the same conditions of calcium sulphate oversaturation the reduction of the flow is 5%,so we can conclude that in conditions of oversaturation of both salts,calcium carbonate produces a greater fouling of the membrane that in its view causes greater decrease in the flow of *** this based on the results of the test with both salts in oversaturated *** in the formation of calcite and gypsum crystals onto the membranes as XRD analyses *** presence of colloidal silica in those conditions intensifies strongly the fouling,leading until to 24.1%of permeate flux decrease.

The effects of mixing time and curing temperature on the uniaxial compressive strength （UCS） andmicrostructure of cemented hydraulic fill （CHF） and sodium silicate-fortified backfill （Gelfill） wereinvestigated in the laboratory. A series of CHF and Gelfill samples was mixed for time periods rangingfrom 5 min to 60 min and cured at temperatures ranging from 5 C to 50 C for 7 d, 14 d or 28 *** the mixing time negatively influenced the UCS of Gelfill samples, but did not have a detectableeffect on CHF samples. The curing temperature had a strong positive impact on the UCSs of both Gelfilland CHF. An elevated temperature caused rapid UCS development over the first 14 d of curing. Mercuryintrusion porosimetry （MIP） indicated that the pore size distribution and total porosity of Gelfill werealtered by curing temperature.
