Effect of fenugreek(Trigonella foenum-graceum L.)seeds powder on gastrointestinal bleeding in mechanically ventilated patients:A double-blind,randomized controlled clinical trial

Background:Stress ulcers are common in mechanically ventilated *** are the most common cause of gastrointestinal bleeding and are primarily associated with increased the consumption of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory *** advanced treatment,it has a high in-hospital mortality *** study assessed the effect of fenugreek(Trigonella foenum-graceum L.)seeds on gastrointestinal bleeding in mechanically ventilated ***:In this double-blind,randomized controlled clinical trial,60 mechanically ventilated patients hospitalized in intensive care units were equally distributed into intervention and control *** intervention group received 3 mg fenugreek seeds powder twice daily with a gavage solution for five days,in addition to routine *** control group received only the gavage solution and routine *** gastrointestinal bleeding and abdominal pain at admission and during the five days were *** were analyzed using SPSS software V.16,and the significance level was set at ***:Gastrointestinal bleeding at admission was similar in both *** number of mechanically ventilated patients with gastrointestinal bleeding decreased on the third,fourth,and fifth days,but the difference was *** Cochran test results showed that the rate of stress-induced gastrointestinal bleeding in the control group increased significantly(P=.04).The decrease in gastrointestinal bleeding in the intervention group was not statistically significant(P=.08).Conclusion:The use of this drug reduces the gastrointestinal side effects of ventilated *** this,reducing gastrointestinal bleeding and similar mechanical ventilation complications in patients entirely dependent on the treating team is an important achievement.

Metabolic syndrome(MetS)is a clustering of metabolic abnormalities that is associated with increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 *** is growing body of data showing the associations of genetic variants of the genes involved in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway with diabetes and *** aimed to investigate the association between MetS and its components with the genetic polymorphism in AKT1,rs1130233(T>C).Total of 618 participants,recruited from Mashhad stroke and heart atherosclerosis disorder cohort(MASHAD study).Patients with MetS were defined by using international diabetes federation(IDF)criteria(n Z 326)and those without MetS(n Z 261)were *** and biochemical parameters were measured in all *** analysis for the rs1130233 polymorphism was performed,using the ABI-StepOne instruments with SDS version-2.0 *** with MetS had a significantly higher levels of BMI,waistcircumference,total cholesterol,triglyceride,high sensitivity-c reactive protein(hs-CRP)and blood-pressure,and lower concentrations of high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),compared to non-MetS individuals(PC)polymorphism was associated with major components of MetS such as hs-CRP,and BMI,indicating further investigation in a multi-center setting to explore its value as an emerging biomarker of risk stratification marker.

Surface nanostructure modification of Al substrates by N^+ ion implantation and their corrosion inhibition

The influence of implantation of N+ions of different energies on the nanostructure of7049Al substrates and the corrosioninhibition of produced Al samples in a3.5%NaCl solution was *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)results confirmed the formationof AlN as a result of N+ion *** atomic force microscope(AFM)results showed that grains of larger scale are formedby increasing N+energy which can be due to heat accumulation in the sample during implantation causing higher rate of diffusion inthe sample,hence decreasing the number of *** resistance of the samples was studied by the electrochemicalimpedance spectroscopy(EIS)*** showed that corrosion resistance of implanted Al increases with increasing N+ion *** equivalent circuits for the N+implanted Al samples with different energies were obtained,using the EIS data whichshowed strong dependence of the equivalent circuit elements on the surface morphology of the ***,the relationshipbetween corrosion inhibition and equivalent circuit elements was investigated.

Purpose:Osteochondral lesion of talus(OLT)is one of the common causes of ankle *** disorder is common in young athletes after ankle *** are various therapeutic *** of the options is mosaic *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mosaicplasty on improvement of symptoms of patients with osteochondral lesions of ***:Nineteen patients with osteochondral lesions of talus participated in this study,who were treated with *** and after treatment,pain(visual analogue scale),function(American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society),range of motion and radiographic signs were ***:The results of this study showed that mosaicplasty could significantly reduce pain,increase function and improve radiographic *** range of motion increased after treatment,which was not ***:We can confirm the effect of mosaicplasty on the improvement of patients with osteochondral lesions of the ankle,suggesting it as a treatment option.

In this paper, Homotopy perturbation method is used to find the approximate solution of the optimal control of linear systems. In this method the initial approximations are freely chosen, and a Homotopy is constructed with an embedding parameter , which is considered as a “small parameter”. Some examples are given in order to find the approximate solution and verify the efficiency of the proposed method.

The energy consumption of dryers as an energy-intensive industry system is discussed in the present paper. In order to reduce this energy amount,solar dryers were applied since ancient times,among these kinds of dryers,high drying rate solar dryers include fluidized bed and spouted bed were discussed in this research study. The experiment and calculation results depicted that,the fluidized bed solar dryer has higher drying rate than spouted bed dryer,even though,spouted bed dryer has less energy intensity consumption.
