Discrimination geochemical interaction effects on mineralization at the polymetallic Glojeh deposit,NW Iran by interative backward quadratic modeling

The physico-chemical exchanges between hydrothermal fluids and the host rock are usually controlled by elemental interaction effects.A criterion-based backward elimination approach applies the iterative regression analysis and analysis of variance to investigate the geochemical features of the polymetallic Glojeh(Au-Ag-CuPb-Zn)deposit in NW Iran.A statistical definition of the elemental interaction effects(X(i-j)^2,Xi×Xj)could elucidate the relationship between variables and the performance of a full quadratic polynomial model(QPM).The model optimization procedure was carried out by the removal of insignificant predictors(P value 95%CL)based on R^2(pred.)*** order to straighten the convergent trend with R^2 and R^2(adj.),R^2(pred.)gradually increased from 0%to 77.8%by 15-steps *** miniature-scale geochemical changes indicate double ordinal Au(Ag,Pb)and Au(Ag,Zn)interactions within the vein and host rock,in *** show that the Au(Pb-Zn)commonly presents ordinal effect at the vein and disordinal interaction at the host *** ordinal-disordinal interaction revealed that elements Pb and Zn have similar geochemical features during *** addition,Akima's polynomial contour map confirms the results from Pb-Zn interaction effects by dependency tracing between Au-Pb-Zn at different ***,it is noteworthy that Pb and Zn occur together in the second phase of Pb-Zn-Cu±(Ag±Cd)sulfide mineralization at Glojeh,which implies intergrowth and interaction of Pb-Zn on Au *** and Zn demonstrate relatively high mobility and are generally concentrated in the near surface *** is an immobile element during alteration and high content Hg zone is mainly restricted to narrow stripes above ore vein and veinlets.

Presentation of a multi-index clustering technique for the mathematical programming of block-cave scheduling

Long-term planning is one of the most important stages that determines the distribution of cash flows over the mine life and the feasibility of the project. However, it is not feasible in block caving to generate a production schedule that will provide optimal operating strategies without considering geotechnical constraints. This paper develops a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP) model to optimize the extraction sequence of drawpoints over multiple time horizons of block-cave mines with respect to the draw control systems. A multi-similarity index clustering technique to solve the MILP model in a reasonable time is also presented. Application and comparison of production scheduling based on the draw control system and clustering technique are illustrated using 325 drawpoints over 15 periods. The results show a significant reduction in the size of the MILP model, and in the time required to solve it.

The Effect of Land Use Change on Soil and Water Quality in Northern Iran

Rapid urbanization has led to extensive land-use changes,particularly in developing *** research is aimed to investigate the role of land use and its effect on soil and water quality in Ziarat watershed focusing on four land uses:forest,pasture,cultivated and urban *** samples were taken from a depth of 0-30 cm on each land use and were analyzed by completely randomized split-plot design in two geographical *** showed that bulk density(BD),electrical conductivity(EC),pH,calcium carbonate equivalent(CCE),and soil particle density(DS) of the soil samples in pastures,cultivated and urban areas increased and the mean weight diameter(MWD),soil porosity(F),organic carbons(OC),total nitrogen(TN),exchangeable cations(Ca 2+,Mg 2+,K +,Na +),cation exchange capacity(CEC) and soil microbial respirations(SMR) decreased,respectively in comparison with the forest *** water quality evaluations,sodium adsorption ratio(SAR),electrical conductivity(EC),pH,total dissolved solids(TDS),bicarbonate(HCO 3),chloride(Cl),total hardness(TH),calcium(Ca 2+),potassium(K +),sodium(Na +) and magnesium(Mg 2+) were investigated in two areas:Nahrkhoran and Abgir *** showed that the concentration of TDS,EC and HCO 3 in Naharkhoran station is higher than that in Abgir *** the other hand,the concentration of TDS,EC and HCO 3 in Abgir station are the relatively higher due to its *** hardness had the same trend during the study years except in the last three years;however,TH showed an increase of 25% TH in Naharkhoran for the last two ***,K + and SAR in Naharkhoran station increased by 61%,22%,78% and 56% respectively,in comparison with Abgir *** study demonstrated that the trend of soil degradation and mismanagement of land use may increase the frequency of urban floods and human health problems.

The nonlinear response of Cattaneo-type thermal loading of a laser pulse on a medium using the generalized thermoelastic model

The nonlinear thermoelastic responses of an elastic medium exposed to laser generated shortpulse heating are investigated in this article. The thermal wave propagation of generalized thermoelastic medium under the impact of thermal loading with energy dissipation is the focus of this research. To model the thermal boundary condition(in the form of thermal conduction),generalized Cattaneo model(GCM) is employed. In the reference configuration, a nonlinear coupled Lord-Shulman-type generalized thermoelasticity formulation using finite strain theory(FST) is developed and the temperature dependency of the thermal conductivity is considered to derive the equations. In order to solve the time-dependent and nonlinear equations, Newmark’s numerical time integration technique and an updated finite element algorithm is applied and to ensure achieving accurate continuity of the results, the Hermitian elements are used instead of Lagrangian’s. The numerical responses for different factors such as input heat flux and nonlinear terms are expressed graphically and their impacts on the system’s reaction are discussed in *** results of the study are presented for Green–Lindsay model and the findings are compared with Lord-Shulman model especially with regards to heat wave propagation. It is shown that the nature of the laser’s thermal shock and its geometry are particularly determinative in the final stage of deformation. The research also concluded that employing FST leads to achieving more accuracy in terms of elastic deformations;however, the thermally nonlinear analysis does not change the results markedly. For this reason, the nonlinear theory of deformation is required in laser related reviews, while it is reasonable to ignore the temperature changes compared to the reference temperature in deriving governing equations.

Effect of selective cutting type on the chainsaw productivity in Caspian Forests

Time and motion studies were conducted to evaluate the impact of selective cutting type on Chainsaw productivity in Caspian forests, the selective cutting performed as single and group selection cutting in the region. The selective cutting was performed on a 42-ha tract with an average slope of 30%. The results indicate that felling time for per tree is most affected by diameter at breast height, the distance among harvested trees in single-tree selection method and diameter at breast height in group selection method. The production rate in single and group selection cutting were 21.2 m^3·h^-1 and 28.4 m^3·h^-1 for one person, respectively. Considering the gross and net production rate in single and group selection cutting, the unit cost was 1.11 USD.m^-3 and 0.88 USD.m^-3, respectively. The results indicate that group selection cutting can be more profitable than single-tree selection method.

Speaker variability is an important source of speech variations which makes continuous speech recognition a difficult *** automatic speech recognition(ASR) models to the speaker variations is a well-known strategy to cope with the *** all such techniques focus on developing adaptation solutions within the acoustic models of the ASR *** variations of the acoustic features constitute an important portion of the inter-speaker variations,they do not cover variations at the phonetic *** variations are known to form an important part of variations which are influenced by both micro-segmental and suprasegmental ***-speaker phonetic variations are influenced by the structure and anatomy of a speaker's articulatory system and also his/her speaking style which is driven by many speaker background characteristics such as accent,gender,age,socioeconomic and educational *** effect of inter-speaker variations in the feature space may cause explicit phone recognition *** errors can be compensated later by having appropriate pronunciation variants for the lexicon entries which consider likely phone misclassifications besides *** this paper,we introduce speaker adaptive dynamic pronunciation models,which generate different lexicons for various speaker clusters and different ranges of speech *** models are hybrids of speaker adapted contextual rules and dynamic generalized decision trees,which take into account word phonological structures,rate of speech,unigram probabilities and stress to generate pronunciation variants of *** the set of speaker adapted dynamic lexicons in a Farsi(Persian) continuous speech recognition task results in word error rate reductions of as much as 10.1% in a speaker-dependent scenario and 7.4% in a speaker-independent scenario.

Studying the physiological and yield responses of sunflower inbred lines to full and limited irrigation

In order to study the physiological and yield responses of sunflower inbred lines to full and limited irrigation, an experiment was conducted in the growing season of 2014–2015 in the research field of the Agricultural Research Station in Khoi, Iran. Water withholding was imposed in the flowering stages from R4 （initial flowering） to R6 （full flowering）. The results showed that the main effect of irrigation and inbred lines and the interaction effect between irrigation and inbred lines in terms of the proline and protein contents, the catalase, peroxidase, and polyphenol oxidase activities, and seed yield in all inbred lines, and relative water content（RWC） were significant at 1% level. Water withholding in the flowering stage increased the proline content and the catalase, peroxidase, and polyphenol oxidase activities, whereas limited irrigation decreased the protein content and seed yield in all inbred lines and RWC. The lowest protein content and the highest catalase, peroxidase, and polyphenol oxidase activities were observed in BGK 39 under limited irrigation condition, while BGK 37 revealed the highest proline content in such circumstances. The highest seed yield was seen in BGK 1 and BGK 375 in full irrigation condition. Limited irrigation increased the proline content by 49.51%, compared to that of full irrigation condition.
