Experimental investigation of the effects of various parameters on viscosity reduction of heavy crude by oil-water emulsion

The effects of water content, shear rate, temperature, and solid particle concentration on viscosity reduction （VR） caused by forming stable emulsions were investigated using Omani heavy crude oil. The viscosity of the crude oil was initially measured with respect to shear rates at different temperatures from 20 to 70℃. The crude oil exhibited a shear thinning behavior at all the temperatures. The strongest shear thinning was observed at 20℃. A non-ionic water soluble surfactant （Triton X-100） was used to form and stabilize crude oil emulsions. The emulsification process has significantly reduced the crude oil viscosity. The degree of VR was found to increase with an increase in water content and reach its maximum value at 50 % water content. The phase inversion from oil- oil emulsion occurred at 30 in-water emulsion to water-in- % water content. The results indicated that the VR was inversely proportional to temperature and concentration of silica nanoparticles. For water-in-oil emulsions, VR increased with shear rate and eventually reached a plateau at a shear rate of around 350 s^-1. This was attributed to the thinning behavior of the continuous phase. The VR of oil-in-water emulsions remained almost constant as the shear rate increased due to the Newtonian behavior of water, the continuous phase.

Ionic liquids analogues known as Deep Eutectic solvents （DEss） are gaining a surge of interest by the scientific community, and many applications involving DEss have been realized. Moisture content is one of the important factors that affects the physical and chemical characteristics of these fluids. In this work, the effect of mixing water with three common type III DEss on their viscosity was investigated within the water tool fraction range of （0-1） and at the temperature range （298.15-353.15 K）. similar trends of viscosity variation with respect to molar composition and temperature were observed for the three studied systems, Due to the asymmetric geometry of the constituting molecules in these fluids, their viscosity could not be modeled effectively by the conventional Grunberg and Nissan model, and the Fang-He model was used to address this issue with excellent performance. All studied aqueous DEs mixtures showed negative deviation in viscosity as compared to ideal mixtures, The degree of intermolecular interactions with water reaches a maximum at a composition of 30% aqueous DEs solution. Reline, the most studied DEs in the literature, showed the highest deviation. The informa- tion presented in this work on the viscosity of aqueous DEs solutions may serve in tuning this important property for diverse industrial applications involving these novel fluids in fluid flow, chemical reactions, liquid-liquid separation and many more.

The key aim of this study is to evaluate the adsorption of heavy oil from aqueous solutions with different oil contents over mesoporous silicate materials having different surfactant template contents. The meso- porous silicate materials have been synthesized from tetraethylorthosilicate as a silica precursor and cetyltri- methylammonium bromide as a template using the sol-gel technique. Four samples were prepared by （1） totally removing the template using the calcination process, （2） partially removing the template via ethanol extraction, （3） partially removing the template via water extraction, and （4） keeping the template as synthesized, respectively. These four samples have been characterized using X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption, thermal gravimetric ana- lysis and Fourier transformed infrared. The effect of the degree of template removal of these mesoporous materials for the oil removal has been investigated. The oil removal is inversely proportional to the surfactant content in the mesoporous material, being highest for the calcined sample but lowest for the as-synthesized sample. The kinetic of oil adsorption over the calcined material has been also studied and the data obtained fit well a second-order model.

Fog computing(FC)is a networking paradigm where wireless devices known as fog nodes are placed at the edge of the network(close to the Internet of Things(IoT)devices).Fog nodes provide services in lieu of the ***,improving the performance of the network and making it attractive to social media-based *** issues are one of the most challenges encountered in *** this paper,we propose an anomalybased Intrusion Detection and Prevention system(IDPs)against Man-in-theMiddle(MITM)attack in the fog *** system uses special nodes known as Intrusion Detection system(IDs)nodes to detect intrusion in the *** periodically monitor the behavior of the fog nodes in the *** deviation from normal network activity is categorized as malicious,and the suspected node is *** Moving Average(EWMA)is added to the system to smooth out the noise that is typically found in social media *** results(with 95%confidence)show that the accuracy of the proposed system increases from 80%to 95%after EWMA is ***,with EWMA,the proposed system can detect the intrusion from 0.25–0.5 s seconds faster than that without ***,it affects the latency of services provided by the fog nodes by at least 0.75–1.3 ***,EWMA has not increased the energy overhead of the system,due to its lightweight.

Aim: This research aims to evaluate patient-centeredness and communication skills from the patients’ point of view and that of the physicians’ point of view and compares the two outcomes. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with a convenient sample of 418 patients and 94 residents. Instrument of the study was a structured questionnaire that aimed to evaluate patient centeredness and communication skills of the residents. Results: Residents gave themselves a significantly higher score than the score given to them by patients in most studied aspects such as the extent to which the doctor discussed the patient’s problem, the extent to which the doctor explained the problem, the doctor introduced himself, the doctor greeted the patient properly and others. The only aspect for which patients gave residents higher score than that residents gave themselves was the extent to which the doctor asked the patient about what is expected to be done (ECG, CT scan, giving antibiotics, …). Conclusion: A transformation from doctor centered approach to patient centered approach is needed.

世界各大油田的开发相继进入中后期，如何提高采收率一直是各国政府关注的问题。由于在原始地质条件下只能产出极少的原生石油，经过二次注水保压开采后，地层中仍会剩有大量的残余油，因此，ＥＯＲ（提高采收率法采油）无可替代地成为了主要的生产措施。本文主要对ＥＯＲ在轻油和重油开采中的应用进行了详细说明，列举了大量的方法具体数字，而且对各种方法进行了归纳比较。并对ＥＯＲ在美国和加拿大的应用做了进一步的阐述。
