Use of quince seed mucilage edible films containing natural preservatives to enhance physico-chemical quality of rainbow trout fillets during cold storage

In this study quality changes of rainbow trout fillet wrapped with quince seed mucilage QSM film incorporated with 0–2%(V/V)thyme or oregano essential oil,as natural preservatives,during storage of 18 d at 4◦C were *** control and wrapped fillet samples were analyzed for texture,lipid oxidation,and color *** 6 d of storage,a significantly increasing trend was observed for lipid oxidation in control *** values(PV)varied for all treatments and remained lower than 8 meq/kg throughout the storage time(18 d).The lowest PV was obtained in fillets wrapped with QSM film containing 2%oregano essential *** to control samples,fillet samples wrapped with QSM films presented a significant reduction in pH after 12 d(P<0.05).L*and b*color parameters were increased while parameter a*was decreased linearly for all treatments during the storage time.

In this study,the interaction of exopolysaccharides from Leuconostoc mesenteroides P35(EPS-LM)with Escherichia coli heat-labile enterotoxin B-pentamer(LTB)was investigated at different concentrations and temperatures by using surface plasmon resonance(SPR)and molecular docking ***-IR spectral analysis together with HPTLC analysis revealing that glucose is the only constitutive monosaccharide of EPS-LM suggests that its structure is composed of dextran withα-D(1→6)glycosidic *** analysis revealed the high affinity of EPS-LM for immobilized LTB toxin(KA=(2.05±0.04)×106 mol.L−1 at 37°C).The binding process was spontaneous(ΔG0),and entropy-driven(ΔS>0)with an increase of KA with *** suggests that EPS-LM-LTB interaction is dominated by hydrophobic *** binding affinity of EPS-LM to LTB had negligible dependence on enthalpy(ΔH=0.084 kJ mol−1).Further,molecular docking results suggested the presence of some binding sites of EPS-LM on the LTB through hydrophobic forces(Lys,Asp,Arg,Glu)and also hydrogen bonding(Glu)in the hydrophobic core of *** autodock studies,Schiffer-Edmundson helical wheel diagrams of LTB inα-helix domain suggested that LTB hydrophobic core is a highly effective region,which was able to form favorable non-polar interactions of the protein's binding surface(with amino acids residues such as Tyr,Leu,Ile)with *** study provided thus further insights into the interactions between EPS-LM and LTB,suggesting that EPS produced by some LAB,such as EPS produced by *** P35 strain are good candidates to inhibit *** toxin activity.

Evaluation of charge storage ability of chrome doped Mn2O3 nanostructures derived by cathodic electrodeposition

A facile synthetic route has been proposed to prepare cauliflower-like nanostructures of Cr doped Mn2O3. The synthesis was carried out by constant current cathodic electrodeposition from Mn2+nitrate solutions containing minor amounts of dichromate. It was found that the presence of Cr mediates the formation of cathodic MnO2which then reacts with the excess Mn2+species to form Mn2O3nanostructures. X-Ray Diffraction（XRD）,Scanning Electron Microscopy（SEM） and Differential Thermal Analysis（DTA） were used to characterize the nanostructures. The storage ability of the obtained nanostructures was investigated by cyclic voltammetry（CV）in 0.5 M Na2SO4solution. The results indicated that the Cr doped manganese oxide material shows better performance than the non-doped one, and the charge capacity（SC） of doped manganese oxide（218 F/g） was higher than pure manganese oxide（208 F/g）.
